"Good news for you is you're dead so." He cocked an eyebrow. He glared over at her, good guess. "When I did have time for school, hard to stay in one place for very long but I was usually the one who ran with the ball most of the time, or yknow knockout. I also got knocked out a lot, broke a few ribs." He grinned slightly. "I'm not surprised about the wild child. Sorry that happened to you though." He tapped the wheel with his index fingers, ignoring the fact that it sounded like she either murdered him or slashed his tires. "I never made it to college, if I did I don't think it would be ready for my alcohol tolerance." He smiled slightly.

"I hardly think most people would classify that as good news." Tempe said sarcastically, smiling. "I knew it. I'm sure the girls were just drooling over you." She quipped playfully, smiling. "Well, I did hang from a roof not very long ago, so wild child fits. And I mean, it was a while ago. Plus, it'd be pretty bad for an angel to hold a grudge." She joked, stretching out. "Oh, you'd be expelled after the first frat party because ten guys knocked themselves out trying to drink with you." She smiled.

He glared over at her sarcastic responses, raising his eyebrows at her next sentence. "And you call me risky. Amazing you didn't die sooner eh?" He grinned at her, it sounded like it wasn't of her accord but he didn't want to pry. "Ah yes, then I'd probably be seeked out by idiots who thought they could out-tolerate me." He snickered, deciding he wanted to ask finally, they were quite close to where they were headed, he figured why not. "Alright, one more, how did you die?" He asked in a geniune tone. "If you don't want to thats alright." He added quickly, he wasn't sure if it was traumatic to die, he didn't figure it would be for him. At least at the moment.

"Probably a miracle I made it as long as I did." Tempe grinned, snickering at him. She didn't flinch or hesitate at the question, she simply watched him with a faint smile. "It's alright. Kind of hard to explain though. I died in marine training, actually. You know when they have you go really deep, coffin style, and hold your breath? I was trying to break a record for the longest time under. I ran out of breath, tugged on the rope, and my partner didn't pull me up. I was 15 feet deep and about to pass out, so I just never made it back up. Amazing, what fifteen feet can change between life and death." She shrugged.

He smiled slightly, that must be what she meant about holding grudges. He listened intently, glancing at her from the road occasionally. "Well damn, thats rough. I hear suffocation is one of the worst ways to go."(foreshadowing muahaha) He smiled slightly. "To make it even, since I haven't died yet I'll tell you about how close I got once." He waited a moment before he started to hear if she would dispute it. "I was, of course, at a bar. Some dude tried shoulder checking me as he walked by because I smiled at his chick and she smiled back. I pushed back, few punches here and there. Threw me into a table cuz the guy was big dude, inches taller, foot wider." He looked like he absolutely loved the story. "-and yknow, tables hurt so I was down long enough for him to break a bottle and collapse my left lung with it. Took me most of seven months to fully recover." He had a cool and weird looking scar from it at least. Edited at November 25, 2023 02:45 PM by Prismatic Cove

"I dunno. Better than burning to death. People make it out as worse than it seems- you start swallowing water and panic, but then the lack of oxygen causes your brain to slowly relax as you lose control of your body. And then you sink down, and the last thing you see is just a teensy bit of light getting farther and farther away until it's gone. It's scary, but theres something peaceful about it too." Tempe shrugged. She totally hadn't thought about that often. "Oh, please do. Near death stories with ghost boy, what more could I ask for?" She joked, listening intently to him. She smiled throughout as he spoke, nodding towards the end. "Well I feel like life kind of tried to teach you a lesson. Like, I dunno, don't smile at things that aren't yours?" She teased. "I have no sympathy, sorry."

He shrugged slightly. "I would imagine inhaling water might be the worst part about it." He was ..ever so slightly disturbed by the level of detail she recited off the top of her head. He glared slightly. "I didn't know she was his lady first of all, and second, that was my last bar fight. ..not my first but I did learn. ..I think." He smiled slightly. (should end the ride soon, I'm starting to think it'll be like page 30))

"Yeah. Pools don't taste very good. Especially not those kind." Tempe joked, rolling her eyes. "Mhm, excuses, excuses." She said sarcastically. "And somehow I don't think you learned a thing. Except maybe to smile less, you don't do it very often. And maybe to glare more often?" She teased, offering him a smile. "Anyway, is it my turn to ask a question or are we getting close?" ((Mm I can see that- I was waiting for you to be like- AND BOOM, car ride done))

HEHEHE)) "i can see why they wouldn't." He snickered. There were other reasons he didn't smile as much, but he didn't think it was quite the right time to say anything. "I'll keep that in mind." He glanced over at her. "Actually," the road had gotten more and more lively as they entered a town. "We are here." He turned deeper into town. and there we are, I assume we skip to le first hunt?))
