{Aleks}
She apologised. It made absolutely no sense. It made sense, she was apologising for herself more than anything else. Hmph, he wasn't surprised but it didn't hurt any less. Fae bastards, they were all the same. Why did he bother playing this game? He should follow Faustin's advice and go off alone. Find himself a vampire that was stable unlike Keenan and stay far away from all of this ridiculous politics.
.
Aleks wiped his hands on his trousers, "I am still a little bit drunk," he admitted, "you'll have to take what I say with a grain of salt," he opened the door more and leaned against the door frame, "You weren't wrong," he said, pausing to carefully consider his next words, "I have been nothing but a prince's pet for years. They all say it and I pretend that I don't notice but they aren't wrong. Immortals don't settle like humans do," he sighed, "I have a hard time adjusting to that."
.
"Your willingness to harm Claude and Montague does not bother me. I worry you are going to hurt Keenan in a way that he will not come back from. As far as I am concerned Monty can go get stuffed. He keeps herding me back into my quarters because me drunk and sad wandering around is a bad look. I am worried about Kee. Like he is a flirt, I know that. I have witnessed it. I was turned on the tailend of Keenan's revenge against his father where he slept with most of the vampires in his fathers inner court. It worked but the constant flirting never left. The thing with your brother was different. Utterly disgusting if you ask me but so strange and now I haven't seen him since. You know what rumours are going to spread, especially after the dinner."
.
He was more than happy to give Freyja a very wide berth but he wasn't sure if that would be possible with them both competing for Keenan's attention. He still wasn't fully convinced that their marriage would remain completely loveless, especially as the entire world could see how close they were. You had to be blind if you didn't. Everything was so uncertain and he hated it. When he was human, he was so used to living everyday as if it could be his last, expecting to fall in love and maybe adopt a child eventually but all of those dreams were gone. He had fallen in love with the worst possible person. There was no way that they would have a future together. As much as he wished it, he couldn't see it. Eventually he would grow jealous of Freyja, more than he was now.
.
"I'm still not sure about you Freyja," he said softly, resting his head against the cool wood of the door frame, he was starting to feel it now, "As far as I can tell you fae are all the same, looking for any opportunity to swindle and advantage. I don't particularly like you for many reasons and you haven't done anything to prove that I can trust you," he sighed, "And in all honesty, I am tired and need to sleep if I have any chance in making it to yours and Keen's wedding tomorrow," he forced his self to stand, body protesting, "So good night princess."
.
He turned away, closing the door behind him. He had no interest in anything she had to say to him. Right now he wanted to sleep and that's exactly what he did. Passing out almost immediately as he hit the matress.

{Freyja}
Freyja wrinkled her nose as soon as the door shut. How? Whatever. She had tried the so called "being the bigger person" approach. She would continue to be 'nice'. After all, kill them with kindness always seemed such a more satisfying way of going about things. Why put yourself into a rage when saying a few words and giving a smile makes the other question their life's decisions.
.
She sighed, smoothing her gown once more before she headed off towards her chambers. He couldn't say she didn't try. The princess yawned as she entered her room, pushing the heavy door shut behind her. She was too tired to actually worry about this for much longer. Soon enough she was out of the black dress and into her nightgown. The first wave of women would be here early to scrub the daylights out of her before slapping on pounds of oils and lotions to make her smell like a perfume store.
.
In fact, her only thought as she curled up under the blankets was that she hoped they didn't scent her with rose. After that, her eyes shut and stayed that way throughout the night. Not even dreams could plague her in this state.
.
The next time she woke up, her room had been invaded by females with fabric, flowers, and only the Gods knew what else. Even the windows had started to fog up because they already had the bathtub full with water. Another thing she noticed... these were mostly fae and human. Well. That's splendid.
.
She was rushed through her bath. Three fae girls scrubbed her skin so hard she thought she might actually find herself bleeding later. After the vanilla scented bath was vanilla lotion and almond oil. "To make her smell sweet". They were trying to suit her up to be eaten. But it wasn't Rose so she wasn't complaining. No, not at all. When they were finally done lathering her in sweet smelling stuff, she was given a slip to put on so she could eat her breakfast.
.
"Someone send for Lady Claude. I'd like her to be here," She said to the nearest person, human, with a bright smile. "She's a crucial part of my wedding process. Also, has anyone seen Taeya? Or Ronwyn?" She called. A few of the people looked at each other. Funny.
.
"We told Ronwyn he'd see you at the ceremony. It's bad luck for males to see the dress before so," said an older fae. But still no Taeya. Nevertheless, Freyja smiled and nibbled on her toast and berries. She still didn't like it. She would be having a ver serious and long discussion with Ronwyn very soon.
.
{Daemon}
The male woke the next day and immediately hurled his guts into the closest waste basket. He hadn't properly eaten the night before and his body was not happy about it. Rather, the Demon who had its eyes set on him. Can't cash in a debt if the vessel is malnourished or dead. Either way, Daemon got the grand idea and ordered Breakfast to his room.
.
The servant he'd given the money to had placed the items on his table close to the door. Neatly pressed and folded. Daemon smirked. How lovely. He went over and unfolded the articles to get a closer look. Blue. Well, he did like blue. Blue and Gold embroidery on the lighter blue fabric. And the creature hadn't skipped out. The fabric and detail was of good work and quality. So they did teach Common sense around these areas.
.
After his breakfast was devoured, he followed along his morning routine before he got himself dressed. And then he'd be off to see Freyja. To make sure she understood the assignment.

{Keenan}

Death. That was what he felt like. The absolute living death. Freyja’s suggestion had not helped much and he did not want to leave his room. He groaned as he ran his own bath. Servants would no doubt be in to fuss over him soon, so he was going to enjoy the peace while he still had it. He hissed as he lowered himself into the lemon scented waters, he was hoping that the sweet scent would be enough to hide the scent of last night’s accident. It would not happen again.

The second he had finished and was drying, a flurry of servants hurried in. The only vampire amongst them was the tailor, who was responsible for ensuring that Keenan was presentable. The male clucked his tongue, “Have you not been sleeping master Keenan?” he sighed dramatically, “That just won’t do.”

The headache from last night had not gone away and being groomed to perfection, was not helping. Several servants helped him into the suit. He admired it in the mirror, the tailor had done a magnificent job. It was a shame that his skin was still so sore and he couldn’t appreciate it fully. He ran his fingers over the gold embroidery on the cuffs. It was perfect.

He yelped as he was shoved into the chair and his hair was combed back, it was half up, half down, covering his ears. The tailor stepped back to admire his work, “The outfit is almost wearing you,” he exclaimed, “I know what to do.”

The man clicked his fingers and a horde of humans with various cosmetics attacked his face until it met the tailor’s exacting standards, “now for the finishing touch,” the head make up artist muttered, Keenan closed his eyes as they applied the wing of gold eyeliner.

Once the gold circlet was placed atop his head and his gloves were on, he could agree, they were very good at their job. He might feel like death but at least he didn’t look it.

There was a knock at the door and everyone stopped fussing. The room fell silent as the king spoke, "It is your father, open the door."

Keenan was half tempted to tell him to go away but they really didn't need additonal drama today. He sighed and took a breath, opening the doors, he offered his father a sickly sweet smile.

As the king entered, the servants and tailor all fled. No one wanted to be around if they fell out. "I didn't expect to see you before the ceremony," Keenan said honestly.

"I didn't expect to find you not stinking of males, afterall, I think the entire castle saw you flirting with the fae prince, he is off limits remember? He does have a wife."

Keenan shrugged, "I had no idea you thought so little of me father. I don't sleep with every male that flirsts with me."

"You are nervous," the king said suddenly as if he had been observing every aspect of their interaction. "You always act like this when you are nervous. You a nastier than normal."

Keenan just rolled his eyes, "I am not nervous. Do you have any other revelations you wish to share or are you able to just leave me alone."

The king squinted at Keenan, "There's something else bothering you. You are moving stifly," the king paused bbefore gasping, "I assumed that you had spent time with Freyja, hence the smell of fae but that would have disappeared by now. Did you-"

Keenan cut him off, "That is enough. I am about to get married, I do not need this from you right now," he snapped.

{Aleks}

Ugh, he was hungover. Perhaps he had slightly overindulged himself the night before.

The suit had already been laid out for him, a soft grey with silver embroidery that Aleks paired with silver eyeliner. It was a tradition that had taken him a long time to get used to, vampires of all genders wearing make up for weddings and balls, the times when they had to look their absolute best. Even the king did it.

Maybe he should just skip the wedding like Faustin. He was the prince’s pet, no one truly expected him to be there.

Actually if he had to suffer through this thing hungover, then so did Faustin. Aleks stood and marched down the hallway and knocked on Faustin's door, "Get up. If I have to do this, so do you."

{Claude}

Although the wedding was purely platonic and she couldn't stand Keenan at the moment, Claude would be lying if she said she wasn't the tiniest bit excited. The dancing, music and just life, was so refreshing compared to the usual days of murder and death.

Getting dressed up was the fun part. She slipped into a lilac gown which she paired with her makeup and matching eyeliner, her dark hair braided into an elegent bun, She finished it off with jewellery. It was rare for her to wear something other than the usual dark colours but since this wan't an exclusive vampire event, it gave her an excuse to embrace brighter and lighter colours. If anyone said anything, she would just claim that she was embracing the culture of their guests.

It wasn't long before Freyja sent for her. The poor grirl probably felt lonely with all the bustling servants, especially as she wasn't permitted to have anyone from the fae court with her.

Claude smiled as she knocked on the door, grin widening when she saw Freyja, "Are you excited?"

{Faust}
The prince awoke to the banging at his door and then it was followed by the unsufferable sound of Keenan's voice. It would have been a lot better had his head not been ready to burst at any given moment. "Go away!" He grumbled, flipping over only to fall out of his bed with a loud thump noise. Faust groaned, standing and rubbing his hip where his body had first made contact. "I do believe we are only optional guests," he hollered, throwing his blankets onto the bed with a soft grunt.
.
He was not pleased with this. No not at all.
.
Faust walked over to the door and opened it to reveal he was still in yesterday's clothes and he hadn't brushed his hair in awhile. Not to mention he smelled of every alcoholic beverage known to anyone alive and dead. The general prince hadn't planned on going and he sure didn't fit the bill of someone who looked like they would go at all.
.
"Hey, buddy Ole pal. Yes, I'm one hundred percent ready for my little sister's wedding, can't you see?' He said, dramatically motioning to himself and then to his littered bed chambers. "Sorry, Aleks. I don't even have a suit. I was planning on leaving as soon as the wedding was solidified and official so I could just go home and go to war or something, " he said, waving towards his bedroom simply as a motion to add to his speech.
.
{Freyja}
Her face lit up as Claude entered the room. She'd been sat into a seat and the women around her bustled to get her ready. They had already managed her hair into a thick braid that they had pulled to give even more volume. Some curly tendrils were left to frame her decorated face. The Atwood-Omelle siblings were all naturally beautiful, but with cosmetics they were a true sight. The princess had instructed them to keep it light. What that had translated to was a slightly rosey lip tint that they also used on her cheeks. As for eyeliner they did the classic black but then another line just above in gold.
.
A small part of her felt it was wasted. It was a wedding to a friend... if that. And no more. The whole scenario was meant for a peace treaty between the two species and yet it had become a bit more personal. It was a good thing she loved to dress up for no particular reasoning other than to look better than the next or else she would have told them the dress and no more.
.
At the moment, the closest ladies were placing bloomed flowers in her hair. Daisies and the small wildflowers that grew nearby. "I'm excited, yes." She nodded, her smile fading to a slight frown. A face of concern. "Do you think... perhaps this is all being wasted?"
.
She barely got the words out before there was a knock at the door and her brother, Daemon, called to her. "Freyja! Come along and let me see what Nani has made for you." He said, his voice wasn't as uppity as before. The male was pressed.
.
"No males are to see the dress till the ceremony! ITS BAD LUCK!" yelled the woman from before with a huff and snort. "Ridiculous." She continued to grumble.
.
Freyja winced, looking back to Claude. "Could you go tell him not right now? I don't really want to deal with him or I might cry all this makeup off," She said in a hushed tone. The female who did her makeup's eyes widened in concern at the thought her masterpiece might be ruined.
.
{Daemon}
He was waiting outside the door, arms crossed. Inside he could hear the females hustling and bustling about. No doubt bringing the best out of his sweet sister. He needed to get his grip back on her. She'd slipped in the week she'd been here. The fastest he's ever lost control of her and to be quite frank, he did not like that one bit.
.
And then a servant yelled at him from behind the wall.
.
"Fine! I won't look at the dress. Cover up sister, we need to talk," he called, sighing deeply once his phrase was completed. Yes they needed to talk. Talk about her attachment to these overgrown leeches.

{Keenan}

The king snarled and Keenan physically retreated. His bravery only lasted so long. Although his father could not harm him today, it did not protect Aleks from conveniently going missing. “Watch your tone,” the king said, “Sit and we will talk about this properly, like civilised men. If that is even possible for you,” he snapped.

Keenan nodded, sitting on the edge of the love seat. The king seemed satisfied and actually sat down opposite. “If you cannot control the magic, then we have to do something about it. If you are going to take the throne, the people cannot know you are a half breed. The fae cannot know either, especially if they consider you one of their own. You slaughter hundreds of your own kind. That’s borderline treason. We could try the serum from the mages again. Aleksander didn’t notice anything when you shared blood with him that one time,” Keenan opened his mouth to disagree. He had only shared blood with Aleksander once, and never again.

He shook his head, “It made me ill. I was dying and it took six mages to pull me out of hibernation when I finally slipped," Keenan protested.

The King sighed, growing impatient with Keenan, "You should be old enough to control it, I would've thought you would know how, especially considering what happened last time and who you killed."

Keenan saw red, "My own brother tried to murder me, all because of who my mother was. You bound me so I could not tell him and so he slit my throat and was going to stake me if I didn't do it to him first," Keenan touched the scar at this throat, that was the betrayl that hurt the most. The amount of times his father had tried to kill him, no longer phased him, but his own brother, that one hurt. Once upon a time they were close.

The King stood as if he was over the conversation, "Either you control it or I will find a way to do it for you and you will have no choice but to do it. And that reminds me, I will be sending the cosmetic artist in to cover the scar on your neck. You were always the prettier son, you get that from your mother. I will not have a scar ruining the image of perfection."

With that the king left and Keenan collapsed. The magic had been brimming just under the surface and it sparked at his finger tips. He had to cool it. It was just a few hours he had to hold it together.

It had never been this bad but then he had never been around so many fae and been forced to remain as a vampire. Magic called to magic and having so much magic in the castle was making him sick.

So much so that he vomited in the bucket that was left just incase. The cosmetic artist walked in as he was wiping his mouth, "Your highness! Are you okay?"

Keenan nodded, "Just nerves."

She frowned as she examined the scar, "It's deep but nothing I won't be able to hide for tonight."

She worked quietly occassionally mutteriong about how pretty vampires were being wasted and ruined on the battlefield.

{Aleks}

Aleks rolled his eyes, Faustin did stink and was probably more hungover than he but was determined to get the fae out of his room. Alex bit his lip, deep in thought, "Optional perhaps, but you only have one sister and she will only marry once, even if the circumstances are peculiar. I'm the prince's pet and people would be surprised if I didn't at least make an appearance, besides, the king would miss my pretty face," he batted his eyelids.

"As for a suit... that I can help with. You are approximately my size. A tailored suit would have been ideal but we can make do," he looked the fae prince up and down, "I'm sure you scrub up well, you are fae afterall," he said with a wink, "I won't even force you to do the whole cosmetics thing, although if you want, I'll help."

He sighed, "We will have to start with a bath and I will have to get a servant to bring you some stronger bath oils and a perfume. Please come Faustin. I don't want to have to suffer through this alone and you make surprisingly good company. I'll even get a serum from the mages to help you with the hangover, hell knows that I need one," he said with a soft laugh.

"Also why war? You princes seem obsessed with it. Kee spends hours analysing battle plans, he even has maps in his living quarters. It is so unneccessary, why must everyone fight and have innocents killed instead of having reasonable discussions. Also it seems to destroy you all, mentally and physically. Why would you be so keen to leave this? I mean court politics suck but at least I won't die by the sword here...The king may have me executed but," he shrugged, "I made my peace with that."

{Claude}

Freyja was a seriously stunning bride. The cosmetic artists added the final touches that really helped enhance and showcase her natural beauty. "You look stunning," Claude said beaming.

Biting her lip, he face fell as Freyja asked if it was being waste. "You have to look at the big picture. We all love a big party regardless, you really just gave everyone am excuse to dress up and do their makeup, the boys included."

She curtsied to Freyja, "Anything for you, your highness." She would do this one small thing for her and she would definitely enjoy it.

She looked Daemon up and down, "I have orders from the princess to tell you to leave. She is busy preparing for the ceremony. You may speak to her after the ceremony or you may be able to leave a message with me," she flexed her fingers, "And if you refuse to leave, I will make you," she said offering him a sickly sweet smile.

{Faust}
He wrinkled his nose, but eventually nodded. "Fine, but you owe me big time." He said, walking back into his room to toss a few things into the rubish bin before walking into the bathroom to start the water running. "I'll where whatever, just no pink. Freyja says it clashes with her hair," he called, grinning to himself. Yeah. The piece about his only sister hit close to home. Even if he didn't like the circumstances. Or the person she was marrying. Perhaps that was just him though. The good news was that this would mean a hopeful end to the vampiric war and then he'd be off again to some other part of the country.
.
He sighed, walking out of the bathroom. "We have different places in the war, Aleksander. Your lover is the plan maker and I am the plan executer. I'm second in line since Rion decided he was going to be a priest instead, but before he even started on that, my father had me training to be a general. I've been on and off the battlefield since I was fifteen. To a mortal that's close to adulthood, a middleground, right? Well, for us born immortals its basically a child. You're not seen seriously until you're almost a hundred years old. Sometimes even more. Father has a thing about Prestige so he set me out there as soon as possible and it became my life. My personality is war and drinking," he winked at that before he turned back to his room. More like a rubish pile.
.
"Anyways, you get the suit and I'll bathe." Gods above knew that he needed it. He left Aleks there and slipped into the bathroom once more, shutting the door before he undressed and climbed into the bathtub. He looked to the wall and grabbed a random bottle off the shelf and gave it a sniff. Lemon? Whatever. He poured some soap onto his washing clothe and went at it. If he simply had to be there, he'd have to look (and smell) like he had planned on it all along.
.
{Freyja}
She smiled at Claude as her thank you, turning back to the lady who was making sure her flower crown was placed perfectly. The process had gone by a lot faster than she had thought it would. Next thing she knew, they were bringing around the silk gown and telling her to step into it. The material was cool to the touch and simply draped perfectly. She looked to the full length mirror and did a half turn, admiring herself. Nani had taken the waist in some since she'd stopped eating properly. Freyja looked like one of the fae from the legends. Beaty and grace, but something wicked under that sweet smile of hers.
.
She would have to take Claude's words to her heart. Any excuse to get the boys dressed up. "Better be worth it," She muttered to herself. Although, she had never really seen a male with makeup before. The princess was a bit excited to see it in all honesty. Especially Keenan. The male was already pretty- must be the fae heritage- but the thought of him with some cosmetics made her want to grin. She may be caught in a romanticless marriage, but at least they were an attractive pair together.
.
Once Freyja's makeover was completed, the women started shuffling out as quietly as possible. One hour. One hour left. She said a silent prayer that today would go by smoothly.
.
{Daemon}
The prince looked down his nose at the Lady. "Excuse me, darling, but I'd just like you to tell her i said stay calm and breathe. And no bread until after, it makes her bloat," he said with a huff. Something told him not to mess with the Raven haired female in front of him. His charms hadn't even worked on her. The natural ones, that is. He never had a chance at trying to get into her mind. He was too worried about getting ahold of Freyja's at the moment.
.
He passed her a wince of a smile and gave a curt bow, "I'll see you there. Nice dress, by the way. Lovely color on you, dear." That was all before he turned away and walked towards the entrance. He needed a walk to...cool down. He wished he could just poof people out of existence sometimes.

{Aleks}

“Seriously, you’ll come?”, he said beaming, “I’ll owe you one,” he didn’t mind owing Faustin, he was one of the few he believed wouldn’t exploit him for the sake of it. Or use him to hurt Keenan, several had tried to do that one, the king included.

Aleks sighed, “Trust me when I say Keenan sees his fair share of action. The king has absolutely no interest in protecting him so regularly sends him out to fight whatever stupid battle was planned. Then I get left here alone, Montague goes with him and Claude is busy planning or whatever her actual job is. Trust me I know that they don’t take you seriously until you’re nearing a hundred. I still have decades before they even consider me a proper adult. It is very strange, going from being an adult to everyone seeing you as a rebellious teenager,” he said with a dramatic sigh.

He grinned when Faustin said no pink, “How do you feel about cosmetics? It is the tradition here,” he said gesturing to his own face, he didn’t even wait doe a response before disappearing off to his own chambers.

Being the prince’s pet had its advantages, he literally got whatever he wanted and still had several suits that were unworn. He selected a dark green suit with elaborate silver embroider, that he believed would look stunning on Faustin. He grabbed the box of cosmetics and returned to the male’s quarters. Faustin may or may not be comfortable with elaborate make up but he sure s hell couldn’t rock up to the wedding looking like death.

Aleks carefully laid the suit out on the bed, “You ruin it, I’ll kill you. It was my second choice for today and it deserves to be worn, but it cost an absolute fortune. Actually, If you ruin it, I think Keenan will kill you himself,” he said with a shrug. In his opinion, expensive fabrics were worth the money, especially as he would wear them more than once.

{Claude}

Claude glared at Daemon, he had the nerve to try and flirt with her. Gross. Keenan may have found him attractive but they did not have the same type and although the fae may have been useful in the future, he was more trouble than he was worth and he smelled weird. She offered him a sickly sweet smile, “I am going to tell her you said good luck.” She turned and slammed the door in his face so they could return to the wedding preparations.

Freyja’s gown was stunning, “wow,” Claude exclaimed, slightly breathless.

“Keenan may be making puppy dog eyes at Aleks but trust me when I say you will get his attention dressed like that.”

{Keenan}

Waiting at the altar was one of the most nerve wracking thing he had ever done, he removed his gloves and placed them into his jacket pocket. Everyone was gradually arriving and in true vampire fashion, the hall was filled with outfits in an array of different colours and almost every face having some form of paint or cosmetics. Keenan suddenly felt self conscious, his own faced was adorned with glittering golf paint paired with a dark black eyeliner designed to make his eyes shine. He knew he was beautiful, that wasn’t the problem, what would Freyja think? What would Aleks think? What would the other fae think?

The final guests arrived and a hush fell about the room. He saw Aleks enter with Faustin. Strange. He winked at Daemon who sat in the front row. The magic inside him shifted at the presence of so many fae, all in the same room. He swallowed it, and hid it with the same sense of bravado he brought when flirting with Daemon.

His eyes widened when Freyja started walking. She looked stunning, like she was already beautiful but this had enhanced it, in the best way possible. Even if they may not be in love, at least they would make an attractive couple and if they ever got to the stage of having children, they could at least guarantee that they would inherit at least some of the beauty, such was the way if one had fae blood.

The actual ceremony was a blur. He numbly repeated the vows and they exchanged rings. Keenan was very careful not to linger so that the ceremony would be extended. “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Keenan stepped towards her, wrapping on arm around her waist and using his other hand to tilt her head up. The kiss was gentle and appeared passionate enough to hopefully fool his father into thinking they were madly in love.

{Faust}
He didn't know what he was doing. The suit was amazing and easy to breathe in. Good quality. And he even let the Vampire put some silver liner on to match the embroidery. He had never been so cleaned up before and to think he didn't even want to go just an hour before.
.
The prince sat with Aleks. Emotional support. Plus, he didn't want to sit beside Daemon not today. Definitely not today.
.
Faust could say with immense pride that Freyja looked stunning. And that was his twin. Younger by three and a half minutes. But she was beautiful. What had him so confused was how real the kiss looked. Keenan was gentle about it and it was convincing. He glanced at Aleks and pursed his lips. Who knew what was going through his mind at the moment. He just hoped the male wouldn't be too upset over it.
.
Everyone, everyone saw the couple as platonic. Well, the people who were outside the main circle didn't think so. But those didn't count. But that kiss even had him questioning it so Gods knew what Aleks was thinking. He would have patted his back or something, but he didn't think it would look very good for either of them.
.
{Daemon}
It was an effort to smile and clap with the rest of the people who decided to do so as the couple kissed. Anyone who looked at Daemon could see that he may have outwardly been beaming but his jaw was clenched. A bloody vampire. She was now married. He had been a part of setting this all up. For the "alliance". That was a load of bull. Cassian was supposed to off the royals and run away with Freyja.
.
But Freyja had grown an attachment to this critter. And she killed Cassian.... accidentally. But it hadn't really angered him until now and he could see her grinning at Keenan. When he had arrived they weren't on good terms for an unknown reason and he had seen it at dinner. The way he hardly paid any attention. And now he had the audacity to kiss her like a true newlywed.
.
He'd speak with Freyja before they leave for the honeymoon. That witch didn't let him through to see her this morning and he didn't get to have his one on one chat about marriage things.
.
Daemon turned to the person beside him, the smiling mask back up and running. "Lovely ceremony, wasn't it?" He asked as they clapped, satisfied when the other nodded and grinned. Daemon looked around once more, relaxing as he calmed himself down. Marriage wasn't always permanent and there was a lovely Fae prince up North who had become increasingly annoying for Daemon. But first things first. Vampire annihilation and then fae princes who speak when they shouldn't.
.
{Freyja}
She smiled through the whole thing. All she really remembered was quick vows and then reminding herself that how much she needed to convince the king that she and the prince were in love. They really didn't have to be for marriage. Must be something the King had against Keenan and Aleksander. So she leaned into the kiss and when she pulled away, she braced one arm on Keenan and beamed up at him.
.
"I think I have the prettiest husband in the whole kingdom," She said, wiping a stray piece of Glitter off of his cheek. She felt bad for feeling this way, but she felt guilty. Like she might hurl. All because she kissed Keenan. And she had caught Aleksander in the seats.
.
"And a plus, there's no roses." She smiled as she looked around at the guests. She briefly caught Aleks with Faust and then Daemon. And Daemon didn't exactly look one hundred percent pleased with the whole ordeal. Like he was the one kissing his friend. She looked back at Keenan and tilted her head, making sure to keep a sweet smile plastered on her face. "What now?" She asked him. She knew there was a banquet but, let's let's honest. She knew where three places were on the grounds.

{Keenan}

Keenan blushed as she touched his cheek, there was just something so intimate about the gesture, “You flatter me too much, I feel like some of the glitter was slightly over the top” he said sheepishly, he offered her his arm, “I think I have the most gorgeous bride, perhaps soon to be queen,” he whispered with a gentle kiss to her forehead.

The King, thankfully out of earshot, nodded his approval, Keenan waited until the guests had started the walk to the ballroom. He relaxed as they were the only two in the room, “we will be expected to join them for food and dancing soon but I figured we should take a quiet moment before we are expected to dance until our feet bleed.”

He was exhausted, as was portrayed by his more relaxed posture. He could afford to be slightly vulnerable when they were alone. The mask of bravado would return as soon as they left the private room. “Thankfully, we will be permitted to retire early.”

He examined his ring, husband, to a fae no less. Something his father had wished to never truly see yet it had happened. He was alive, alive and married. Married. Surreal, they still had the dancing and feast to get through and then the whole sharing blood thing. He was unnecessarily nervous, he was a vampire after all, others had done it many times with no consequence.

He sat down on one of the chairs in the front row and looked up at Freyja, “I am sorry about the way I acted towards you. There is a lot going on and I should not have taken it out on you.”

He looked down twisting the new ring on his hand, he had acted exactly like his father and he hated it. Now they were married, he wanted to be better. “Perhaps tonight should be the nigh for our sleep over considering we will be expected to spend at least one night together now we are married,” he offered her a crooked smile, worlds away from his careful practised expressions in front of the population.

He let out a soft sigh, “I guess we should join them,” he said offering her his arm so that they could present a united front walking into the ball room.

The room fell silent as they entered, the crowd parted so they could get through. He elegantly led Freyja out to the dance floor and smiled, he leaned in close and whispered, “Are you ready for this?”

{Aleks}

The kiss. Keenan assured him that their relationship was purely platonic. Everyone in their inner circles said so but that kiss. Tender and gentle, the way a lover may embrace another. He paled, that did not look like how once would kiss a friend, even acting. There was no way Keenan was that good of an actor, surely?

His knuckles were white as he clenched his hands in his lap, he gave Faustin a pained look. This was not how this was supposed to go. Maybe he should’ve listened to Monty and pushed for her execution after she killed Cassian. She had gotten away with that once completely, it was unbelievable. This whole thing was unbelievable. He knew he and Keenan had differing opinions on Freyja, but was that enough to cause all of this.

The second they were able to leave, he stood, eager to get this day over as quickly as possible. He stopped and turned to Faustin, “I’m going to go and get some air, you are more than welcome to carry on to the ballroom without out me. I’ll return before the newlyweds enter. Traditionally, they take a private moment together before they enter the ballroom as a newly married couple.”

The cold air bit into his skin, any other time it may have been painful but right now it offered a sense of calm and focus.
