Nate nodded and kissed her cheek. "Okay, I'll be right back. Love you," he said before hoping out of the truck and heading over to the jewelry store.

"Love you too" She said, watching him curiously. She pulled out her phone and began flipping through Tiktoks while waiting for him

Nate walked into the jewelers, picking up a ring. He'd ordered it online when she was asleep while she was healing. He had it specially made, just for her. Nate checked the ring box and smiled, it was perfect. Nate pocketed the ring box and paid, walking back out to the truck.

As he climbed in, Dakota looked up from her phone. "Hey." She said, smiling softly at him. She was curious, but respected his privacy

"Hey," Nate said, starting the truck. "Do you wanna go get some takeout and watch the sunset?"
