Quinn closed her eyes a moment before opening them again. "Good... have you gutted it yet-" She stopped and winced, her eyes widening with fear as the man ripped Sage away and went for her. Quinn half scrambled backwards but stopped, going limp with pain as Sage came to the rescue again. For the second time. Part of Quinn's brain was appauled by the way he took out the man... but that part was quickly taken over by the grateful part. Quinn was so glad she could have someone to trust to keep her safe. "Are you okay?" She asked quickly when he got back, clearing her brain's fuzzy thoughts completely and focusing on the task ahead. Quinn hauled herself to her feet and shook her head to rid her eyes of the blackness that crept in, leaning heavily against a tree for a moment.

Sage had barely shook his head in response to the girl's question before he'd gone and killed the guy. Then he had to hide the body, and all the rest...and now they really did have to get moving. But Quinn needed to rest and heal, too. And he was no doctor, but she was obviously still woozy and in pain....so he was terrird something would happen, but there was no good option. He sort of crept back to quinn heasitantly...maybe he should have washed the man's blood off of himself first. But, all she seemed to care about was that he was alright. He nodded and then tensed up, his brain runnign over with worry when she tried to get up. "Oi, oi, oi," he yelped, reaching over to try and help. "I'd like you to survive the journey, so how about you stay sitting for at least five minutes," he begged. She'd just passed out from blood loss, and it was obvious she still wasn't well. And...well....he couldn't lose her. And he was no doctor, so he wasn't sure how much he could help her. Most of their stuff was already packed too, so he didn't mind finishing up quick. He would hunt more on the way...he was not going to leave her alone again.

Quinn looked at Sage with her usual, *you worry too much* look, which almost changed to that motherly look like she wanted tohelp him. "I am surviving hold on a moment." Quinn answered with a huff, pressing a hand against her wound which definetely woke her up. She took in a sharp breath before peeling away the bandaging, glancing at the paste on the wound, applying a little more of the leaves she had pre-ground up, then bandaging it again. "See, I'm fine, don't worry, I don't need to sit down. This wound isn't that bad, the only big problem at this point is infection. The bandage will keep blood in, and it is clotting already." Quinn reassured Sage, not wanting to be babied the whole trip, before half walking half staggering to the bags. She still hadn't really gained her balance back yet,.

Sage eyed the girl rather doubtfully before watching her carefully as she dressed the wound...he wanted to remember what she did in case she passed out again. He groaned when she walked away, but scrambled after her, making sure she didn't fall over. "Will it stay clotted on a horse," he asked, still just really worried. Horses were bouncy, and it would hurt like crazy even if it didn't open up again. He tried to hold his tongue, knowing she wouldn't want to be babied....but he was worried about her, a lot, so he sort of just tried to push the panic down as best he could and shut up.

Quinn was actually rather pleased at how Sage reacted. Believe it or not, she was still surprised that he cared that much. -Of course he does, get your head on straight- She thought with a slight huff, trying not to wince at the throbbing hot pain. "It ... should. I'll just tie the bandage on tight and dismount if blood spills all over." Quinn answered jokingly, offering Sage a weak grin. She knew it would hurt, but they needed to leave. Two people had foudn this place already, they couldn't risk it happening again,

Sage knew she was joking around, but he couldn't help but feel the spike of panic in his chest when she mentioned how bad it could get. He shook all the bad thoughts from his head, er....tried to anyway, and focused on packing the horses up as much as possible so she didn't have to. Then he gutted the deer quickly and set it on the fire to smoke while he packed the rest of the way up. Once that was done, took the meat off the fire and quenched it, hoping the meat had smoked long enough....it was just barely enough time. But they needed to get to a safer place. He helped Quinn onto Sahara, and he hoped on behind her. Chaos had become the pack horse, so the mare had offered to carry them both. Which was fine...he normally would have offered to walk, but that way Quinn at least could lean against him if she got tired or it hurt or whatever.

Quinn took in another slow breath, keeping a hand pressed against the wound. Her emerald eyes showed pain, but also determination. The wound wasn't that bad, she would just push through until it healed. She sat and waited while Sage finished, wincing at the new dull pains shooting through.... her stomach. -Oh please no that can't be good- Quinn thought bleakly, standing as Sage finished. She let him help her up, taking in anoter slow breath before urging the horse forward, her body tense.

Sage hopped on the mare as quiet as possible, not wanting to jostle Quinn at all. "Ready," he asked her quietly before letting her urge Sahara forward. It was good that they were leaving...whoever that was just went to show that they really couldn't stay anywhere very long. He wrapped his arms around Quinn, sort of holding her in place as they went along the trail through the woods. "why don't you try and rest," he suggested quietly to her, pressing a kiss to the side of her head. It would pass the time, and would hurt less....and she looked like she needed it.

Quinn didn't want to give in to the exhaustion yet again creeping in, but she felt so safe with Sage's arms wrapped around her. She slowly relaxed on Sahara, who kept at a steady pace. When Sage instructed her to rest is was all Quinn could do to nod. She fell pretty limp in Sage's arms, falling asleep within 3 seconds. Every muscle in Quinn's body screamed to wake up, but she was too tired to listen

Sage chuckled lightly when Quinn fell asleep again, and reached over to hold the reigns and Sahara's mane, so as to steady himself on the horse. He wasn't guiding the horse ...there was no need for that, he could just tell her where to go. He just didn't want the mare to trip on loose reigns if he didn't hold them. He kept the other arm wrapped around Quinn, keeping her secure and comfortable in place.
