Sage chuckled softly when she mentioned thinking he'd never fail a job. He wasn't so sure about that, but he kept it to himself. They all needed to believe they could pull this off. So he just pressed a kiss to the side of her head with a soft hum of agreement. "We'll figure all this out soon," he promised.

She nodded, slipping her eyes shut for a moment before opening them once more. "Dorian said he wanted to get his revenge someday, mainly because he was a perfectly fine knight before getting accused of something he didn't do before getting whipped and exiled." Elara hummed casually, as if it was normal.

Sage sighed and nodded. "We can try to find him. Include him, then reinstall him and his honor once your father and his men are out of command," he thought out loud. It was a good idea ...and the more help they had the better, he supposed. It would be dangerous though.

She sighed softly, smiling warmly as she chuckled lightly. "Seriously, Sage. I can't think you enough for agreeing to this," Elara explained gratefully, meeting his gaze.

Sage just smiled back at her with a nod. "I want what's best for you," he noted softly. "You and Liz, that's who I care about. And if you're back in the castle, I know neither of you will be left wanting in life," he added, offering her a small smile. And as long as they were ok, he'd be alright too.

Elara beamed, kissing him before pulling away, flopping her head back down. "You're a good man, and an even better dad." The woman noted, leaving it there as she started thinking of how life would be once her father was out of power. Perhaps they could move back, perhaps Nate would get the throne instead. Who knew.

Sage just kissed her back, a smile growing wide on his face as it always did when she kissed him. He'd never get used to that, he supposed. "I just do what I can," he noted softly. "And it's only because of you I can even spend time with her," he added, glancing over at Liz.

"Please, you're making me sound like some savior." She mused with a soft laugh, pecking his lips once more as she grinned warmly down at him. Elara met his gaze steadily, getting lost in his eyes as she always did for a moment.

Sage chuckled softly, kissing her back when she moved in, just giving her a grin. "Well....you are, in a way," he noted. "I'm...not sure how long we'd have kept going without you," he admitted, propping himself up on his elbow, slightly more somber now. He wasn't sure he'd ever told her that, not when he wasn't joking around.

Elara stayed flopped down on her back, hands folded behind her head as she gazed up at him. His words made her eyes crease more as she smiled, tone less joking now as she spoke softly, quietly. "Really? Wow okay, I guess I never. . . realized how much I impacted you? Is that the right word even?"
