Ajax laughed a little, having a strong feeling it would happen. "You do that." He said before wincing at her words. "Coma brain? And you're not nuts." He inquired, tilting his head. He had to look interested. Plus he wanted to learn more. Had she ACTUALLY been in a coma or is that just what the angels planted in her head? Theories swirling through his head, he glanced up as she spoke again. "Roger that." He then walked to the spot she gestured to, then glanced at Sam with a grin. "When am I not ready?" He joked.

Sam rolled his eyes and tossed the ball over to Ajax, sticking his tongue out. "Just wanted to make sure you didn't get hit in the face." He joked back. Astoria gave him an amused grin at his surprise. "I just got out of a coma a couple months ago. I was in it for a while. So, my brains been a little fuzzy since then, but I'm working through it." She shrugged.

Ajax reached up and caught the ball right before it hit his face. "Seems to me you just forgot how to aim and you didn't want someone elsepaying the price." He responded with his own tease, his eyes twinkled as he curved the ball back with a rather good throw for someone who never played. Still, Ajax had been interested in what made the ball curve, so he had figured out how to throw some good balls. He then turned to Astoria. "Hm.. well, if it helps, you seem great for someone who was in a coma." He commented with a smile.

Sam scoffed. "I aimed specifically for your face, excuse you." He huffed jumping to snatch the ball from the air and rolling his eyes. "Listen, just because you can see the west coast from here doesn't mean the rest of us are also seven foot." He teased, tossing the ball to Will. The man gave a slight chuckle, tossing the ball right to Astoria. She caught it lightly and offered Ajax a grin, tossing it to him again. "Thanks. You've got a great curveball. I'm guessing this is a dumb question since you didn't go to high school, but did you ever play baseball?" She asked curiously.

Ajax arched an eyebrow. "Aw, did you now? I couldn't tell." He almost choked on a laugh at Sam's face, pretending to look offended at the next words. "Listen, just because you are always afraid the ants are going to squish you doesn't mean you have to insult me." He teased with a grin, snatching the ball out of the air. "I did not play baseball, but I did practice a lot with a rather stoic opponent... if you call a tree a good catcher." He chuckled, tossing the ball to Sam with a complicated twist that sent the ball spinning towards the boy. "Practice makes perfect, as many people say, and by golly I practiced a lot." Ajax's brain flitted, again, back to the years when he was just trying everything after he died. That included chucking baseballs at trees, apparently.

"Alright, king Kong. Just tell me when you plan to scale the empire state building, I want it on video." Sam mocked easily. Astoria chuckled as the boys interacted, rolling her eyes. "Gee, you just had a great childhood, huh?" She chuckled. San caught the ball with relative ease, pitching it to Will. Will blew out a bored breath as he caught it, tossing it to Astoria and watching the dog at his feet.

Ajax cracked his fingers, preparing for some ultimate teasing. "I will, as long as you promise to tell me when you're wrestling Antzilla." He responded with an innocent smile. "Actually, that's an overstatement. I had an AMAZING childhood." He poured on a lot of sarcasm, laughing a little. This felt nice. Fulfilling, really. It - well, no. But it almost felt like he had a family for once. It didn't work like that though. At the thought, which brought back others, his mind darkened slightly. Most of him wanted to stay but some part said to just leave, to not see them again, but he couldn't do that. He couldn't stay away from Mercy... Astoria... for that long. Sam scoffed. "Touche, my dude." He conceded, crossing his arms momentarily. Astoria simply snickered, offering her sullen somewhat-kinda-boyfriend a smile at his skulkiness. She whipped the ball at Ajax with a surprising arm, cracking her knuckles with a grin. "Well, if you say so. Don't worry, we'll be your surrogate family." She joked, kneeling to let the golden retriever run into her arms.

Ajax couldn't resist a grin. He didn't feel like it and he did, so very mixed feelings on that front, and by the time his brain and finished the whole process of processing he was ready to give up on feelings altogether. Who needed emotions, anyway. He quickly lifted his hand and snatched the ball out of the air with slightly raised eyebrows, wondering when food would be ready, half because he was hungry and half because part of him wanted to go and think. Not that he had much of a brain to think with anymore. He tossed the ball back to Sam easily before turning to Astoria, the slightly surprised look in his eyes mixed with something else giving away what he really was thinking. "Yeah, good luck." He snorted, tugging his sleeve down slightly to recover the scars... well, wounds.

Sam caught the pitch from Ajax easily and tossed it to Will, grinning. At that point, Astoria was on the grass, playing with her childhood dog. She offered him an upside down grin from the ground, tilting her head slightly. "Luck? I don't need luck." She joked, hugging her dog to her chest and puzzling over his expression for a moment. She was stripped of her thoughts when her mother called, 'Dinner!' From the back porch. Sam was gone as soon as the door opened, Will following him in a docile way, giving Akax a little side eye as he passed.
