Aria could feel the tears rolling down her cheeks. When he tried explaining to her though... it made everything worse. The girl didn't really look up at Sage until he mentioned still having her ring. She glanced up, her green eyes shining through her tears. "I... I still have yours too..." She said, looking back down to her hand. She hadn't ever taken it off... but he had a different wife now. "W-What's your uh... wife, like?" Aria asked, before hearing him mention the kids. "Right... His name's Henry." She said. "He's almost 1 already... and Caroline, she's 4 now." The girl said with a sad face. He hadn't been there to even meet his son. What had she done? Aria felt awful...

Sage couldn't help but feel glad that she still had his ring...though it did confuse him a bit. If she still loved him, then why did she leave? He just didn't understand, and now it was really too late to ask her to come back, no matter how much he wanted to. He wrinkled his nose slightly when she asked what his new wife was like. "Awful," he muttered, though he cocked his head in curiosity when she mentioned the kids. "Henry," he murmured. A son. He'd had a son. Who he couldn't ever meet. Well, he'd get used to it he supposed. Or, at the very least, he'd deal with it. He'd been dealing with things like this forever....he could deal with all this, surely.

Aria cocked her head to the side when he had said his new wife was awful. But she pushed the thought away and sighed. "Yeah... Henry. He looks a lot like you." The girl said with a soft smile. "Except he got blonde hair... and neither of us do." She chuckled. "Do you um... want to see him and Caroline?" She asked. It took some time before Aria had to explain. "Sage... this is all my fault. I left you... because, well, I thought you didn't feel loved. And I loved you more than anything. I didn't think you believed me." The girl said, tears falling down her face again. She guessed Sage had moved on. Aria wrapped her arms around him, giving him a gentle hug. "All I wanted... was to see you again." The girl whispered.

Sage chuckled slightly at the fact that Henry had blonde hair. "My mom was a blonde," he told her with a slight shrug. He felt his face light up when she offered to let him see the kids. "Really," he chirped. "I'd like that," he agreed. He didn't have very long...but even a glimpse of them would be well worth it. He was rather surprised when she admitted why she'd left..all this time, he'd thought it was because she'd just figured out he wasn't all that she'd thought he was. He wrapped his arms around her after a moment of shocked silence. "Hey...it's alright," he murmured. "I'm sorry I made you feel that way...that was my fault," he whispered.

Aria nodded. "Alright, this way." She said, walking through the crowds of people to where she and the kids were staying. Caroline was sitting on a chair in the small kitchen and turned to see someone standing by her mother. "Caroline... this is your dad. Do you remember him?" Aria asked. Caroline shook her head, looking down at the ground. "Did... Did he come back?" Caroline whispered. Aria looked over at Sage. "Ask him..." She said, walking to go get Henry. Caroline just looked up at Sage... her father. Aria brought Henry out to Sage and handed him over, tearing welling up in her eyes.

Sage sort of just stood awkwardly in the doorway, shifting his weight back and forth as caroline and aria talked. He winced when caroline said she didn't remember him...that was certainly a hurtful blow, but he couldn't exactly blame her. SHe was still young when they'd left the castle. "No, sweetheart...I can't stay long," he whispered sadly. "But I wanted to say hello," he told the young girl. He looked over at Henry when the baby was handed over, more tears forming in his eyes. "He's beautiful," he whispered to Aria, eyes scanning the baby, wanting to take in every detail of his small face. He'd probably never see him again, so he wanted to remember him.

Aria smiled and nodded. She wiped the tears under her eyes and grabbed Henry back, letting him sleep for a bit longer. Caroline got up and shuffled over to Sage, looking up at him. She hugged him, maybe for the last time ever. "Bye... Dad." The girl said sadly. Aria sighed. She knew this would be bad. "Bye Sage..." Aria said quietly. She still loved Sage... but clearly he had moved on.

Sage watched her put the sleeping baby back, wishing that he hadn't messed this all up. He knelt down to hug Caroline, murmuring "bye, hon," desperately trying not to just start sobbing. He stood up and glanced over at Aria with a tight smile. "bye," he whispered, voice cracking. "It was... wonderful to see you and the kids again," he told her. He wished he'd at least had some more time with them...but he couldn't ask that. He'd seen his kids, and he knew they were healthy and alright. They were obviously happy enough without him, since Caroline hadn't even remembered him, and Henry would never see or meet him in his lifetime. "and please...if you ever need anything...come talk to me. The guards know you...they'll let you in," he told her before forcing himself out the door.

Aria fought to hold back her tears. She nodded, forcing a smile as Sage left. Caroline started crying and Aria rushed to her side. "So... So now I don't have a dad?" Caroline whimpered. "No, no, no honey. Your dad... he has a new wife now. I can't just walk into the castle anymore. It will be okay. I wish the same as you... we need to be with Sage." Aria couldn't hold the tears in either. She wanted to run to him. So, so badly. It hurt to say... but she wished his new wife left. They wouldn't be healthy for long, and Aria... wouldn't have Sage.

Sage wandered back to the castle with the groceries, taking the hood off his cloak when he got back so the guard recognized him and went back to his bedroom. He was greeted with a lot of yelling, and the bag snatched from him, and then he was pushed roughly to the side as the new queen bounced off to the kitchen. He flopped down on the bed with a sigh, trying to figure out how to get rid of this lady. If he even could.
