I only came back recently (September-ish) and now know why everything I breed, even mares of LB lineage and with high priced LB stallion stud fees, is "breeding down" in ratings.
Even keeping same rating has been difficult.

Dakota got Athena all tacked up, and she took her out to the field. Her and Jacob's field. They rode around and went to the beach. No one ever went there, except Dakota. That's where she went after she left the orphanage. They rode at the water's edge and watched the sunrise. Athena stopped and let Dakota think. This was the beach her and Jacob would play at when they were kids.
