Ajax knew Astoria didn't completely buy his story, which was why he was all the more grateful she didn't press. If she remembered diddly squat he probably would've poured out his heart and soul telling her how he missed her and what he had been wrongly doing to himself, buuut she didn't remember anything. ANYTHING. And nothing he said had triggered a reaction. It's like.. well, like he was meeting a new person that somehow looked just like her. At her words he closed his eyes for a second, fighting back tears. It seemed that all his years spent stoic and never spilling any tears just meant he was saving them for later. The person he cared about didn't even remember him. So it didn't matter if they were lucky or not. He fixed his expression and glanced up as they came upon a rather nice house. He still Preferred his small cabin, but it was nice for a town house. "I know you think that, but most of my secrets would shock you to no abounds. Not in a bad way, though, so don't start worrying." He joked with a small laugh, though it disappeared quickly. He did know that he'd have to hide his emotion though, now that he was here.

Astoria hesitated when she saw that he seemed upset. She didn't know what she had done, and now she was nervous he was uncomfortable or something. "Well, maybe you'll reveal some to me one day." She offered quietly, giving him a small, kind smile as she walked through the door to her house after Will and Sam.

Ajax sucked in a breath, slowly, and silently. He couldn't mess up anymore. He wasn't going to show any negative emotion. For Mercy's sake.. the old Mercy. The real Mercy. The one he knew, anyway. He observed the homey feeling of the quaint house, looking around. Everything was so nice. More conflicting thoughts flooded in. He wished... well, if he was being brutally honest, he wished Mercy could just come back. However, most of him just wanted her to remember so she could decide. Some small part of him even thought that was selfish. Everything seemed to be at war. He quietly followed Astoria in, ducking just slightly to clear the doorway.

Will and Sam started straight back through the house, grabbing a couple of baseball gloves and a ball as they scurried into the back yard. Astoria simply grinned and gestured to the two people standing in the kitchen. A woman with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes and a man with black hair, glasses, a green eyes. Both were in their forties, it seemed. Ria threw them a light grin and gestured to Ajax. "Mom, Dad, this is Ajax. Ajax, this is my Mom and Dad. Or, Sandra and John, to you." She said lightly, watching her parents give him a friendly smile and a light wave each. "I invited him around for dinner tonight, I think he would love whatever you have planned. Anyway, we're gonna go play ball. Love you!" She said lightly, dragging him away before her parents had the chance to pull him into a conversation.

Ajax's blue eyes flitted up to two people, the mother looking much like Mercy with the same beautiful smile and the father looking like he'd except. Kind. He nodded with respect as Astoria introduced him. "Nice to meet you, Sandra and John." He greeted them before allowing himself to be dragged out back. He would probably love whatever food they had in store. Probably since he ate bad eggs this morning and hadn't eaten before that in a while.

Astoria grabbed two gloves and tossed Ajax one, holding the other under her arm and tossing her shiny hair into a high ponytail. "Do you like catch?" She asked lightly, opening the back door that lead to the porch. Sam and Will were already tossing a ball back a forth, occasionally scrambling to get it before a large golden retriever snagged it. The shiny dog was sprinting back and forth every time the ball flew, following it eagerly.

Ajax's long arms easily caught the mit, and he followed Astoria outside. "To be honest, I've never really played with anyone but myself. So I wouldn't know." He answered, smiling as he saw the golden retriever. "Do you have a cat? And also, do you like St. Bernard's? Or.. Labrador retrievers?" He aimed for specific things carefully, then added, "Those two are some of my favorite breeds. I have a st bernard at home. His name is Rex. I also have a cat, named Binx." Ajax explained, trying not to wince at saying he had a cat. He didn't really LOVE Binx, but he'd grown to like the feline.

"Well, prepare to enjoy yourself then. I know you might be unprepared at the start." Astoria chuckled, pausing at the top of the stairs so he could talk. She tilted her head at his questions, sliding her glove on and smiling at him. Some moment of utter familiarity washed over her at her cat's name, as if he had yanked something from her brain. She offered him a slightly incredulous grin. "Actually, I've always wanted a cat. If I got one, I would absolutely name him Binx. I'm obsessed with Hocus Pocus. I swear, you have my spirit cat or something." She chuckled, starting her way down the stairs and glancing over him again. "I love all dogs really. Big dogs have ny heart, usually, so Bernard's and Lab Retrievers fit right in." She shrugged, pausing at the foot of the stairs to look up at him. "Hey, is there any way we went to high school together?" She asked curiously, tilting her head. "You just look really familiar."

Ajax smiled, knowing that with his reflexes and arm reach he could totally do GREAT at this, but he also knew it wasn't a competition so it didn't matter. He watched her carefully for a reaction, trying to keep the hope away from his gaze as she grinned. Her words just about made his heart break. "I'm sure you'll have a cat named Binx someday." He said quietly, walking after her. Internally he was praying that she remembered at the same time he was hoping he didn't make a big mistake by trying to dredge up the memories. Ajax knew, for sure, that memories could never be erased. They could just be buried. And one word could trigger everything. At her words he nodded, looking only a little surprised at her words. His heart immediately wanted to breathe, to believe, to screech that yes they knew each other.. but he knew the small remembrance didn't mean much. "I never went to a real high school. Too busy on the farm, and then later on I went to a specific pilots school." He explained, trying not to let his voice drop Sadly. He watched Will and Sam for a moment, calming the raging river of emotions inside him.

Astoria gave him a grin and chuckled. "I hope so. I'll definitely work on it in the future." She smiled, nodding lightly at his answer. "I'm probably just nuts then. Coma brain." She shrugged, gesturing for him to stand a few feet to their right. "Stand over there, I'll go to the opposite side." She said lightly, jogging off to take her place opposite him.

Sam grinned as they finally joined the game, gripping the ball easily. "Ajax, you ready?" He called lightly, tossing the ball up and recatching it.
