Sage hummed softly when she pecked his jaw, a soft smile forming on his face. Well, that was good he supposed....she wasn't upset at him. And she wasn't as upset as she seemed to be about the whole topic now, which was also good. He did prefer her to not be worried. "Maybe a little longer if the kids can manage to make breakfast without burning the house down," he added in a fond joke. Really, the kids would be fine....but he knew they both would want to get up and care for them and that sort of thing. Even so, the hour or so they still had would be nice. It always was. So he just put their other conversation behind them and curled in as well, a content huff of air slipping past his lips. "I love you," he hummed after a few moments, just really, really glad he'd found her.

Mari felt the corners of her mouth twitch up at his comment about the kids. They'd be ok... at least, Silas could make toast without burning the place to the ground. She would want to get up and see them at some point, though... it was nice for them all to be together again. She thought so, anyway. Plus, the kids had missed Sage. He'd been back a little while now, she knew that, but Silas and Liz must have thought he was going to leave any chance he got. She undersood that too. At his next comment, though, she sort of raised a brow and looked up at him, a slight laugh escaping her. "Oh really?" She teased, rolling her eyes as she patted his chest in amusment. "Love you too," she added lightly.

Sage grinned when his joke brought the smile to Maris face, having cheered her up a bit just like hed wanted. Though, at her comments he chuckled softly, just leaning against her happily. "Well after this long, I'd hope so," he noted lightly, sort of just closing his eyes and nestling his nose into the hair at the top of her head. There had been a couple times where he'd been pretty sure he'd never see her again. Never cuddle, or breathe in her scent, or talk about the kids or doctor. But that hasn't happened, and he was just so glad about it all.

Mari felt a small smile lift the corner of her lips as he curled up with her, admittedly a bit more relaxed about it all. She was still worried, still scared that something would go wrong, but he was here with them now. The kids would be safe, and they'd grow up with their father. It had always been the worry that Sage wouldn't live this long, but here he was. He was okay. They all were. They'd all be fine. She looked up a little bit after a moment and flashed him a grin. "And I still love you just as much as when I met you," she chirped.

Sage had settled in again, though he couldn't help but laugh at Maris comment. "Ah, good thing I age well and you like looking at scars," he hummed, voice laced with amusement. Really, he wasn't sure how she found him attractive, even after years of being together. But he certainly wouldn't complain about it. His face softened even more though, after a moment, and he shifted to press a light kiss to her lips. "But I love you all the same too," he noted softly. Then he chuckled. "If it's possible, I think I might even love you more."

Mari sort of hummed as a response before rolling her eyes. She knew just fine he didn't think much of himself, but it didn't bother her much. Of course she wished he could have lived a life without his injuries, a peaceful life without scars to show, but he hadn't. She couldn't change that, and she wouldn't want to change him for the world. He meant the most to her and she hoped he knew as much. She loved him for... well him. "Oh, you've aged beautifully my dear," she teased softly, although his little peck caught her a little by surprise. Still, all she could do was grin at him. "How much more?" She asked, sort of measuring with her fingers. She pinched her finger and thumb together and gave a chuckle. "This much more?"

Sage just snickered softly at her comment, giving her an amused look. They really weren't even all that old yet....still on their thirties really. But it certainly seemed like they were old, and goodness knows his body creaked like some sort of grandfather. But that was ok. He could still do the things he loved - hold his wife, play with his children, care for the animals. Of course, when she pinched her thumb and finger together, he couldn't help but laugh and move to take her hand, pressing his lips against it lightly. "I don't think anything you can come up with can show that," he noted softly, just leaning in against her again.

Mari felt a small chuckle escape her when he pecked her hand. It was such a simple thing, but she couldn't help but love it with everything she had. She loved him with everything she had. She wouldn't ever get over how much she cared for him, she didn't think. She'd never be able to tell him just how much she did, either. There just wasn't words for it. "There has to be something to show it," she hummed, sort of just measuring things with her hands with a sort of thoughtful look across her face. When he curled up though, she just grinned and wrapped her arms around him, giving him a bit of a squeeze.

Sage sort of rolled his eyes when she kept trying to measure how much he loved her with her hands, just watching her with a fond amusement on his face. "Nope, no way. I love you too much for that," he chirped, just grinning back at her when she squeezed him. It really was rediculous, how something so simple as a grin or a squeeze could mean so much to him. And yet it did. Everything she did meant so much, and he couldnt understand it. It was a good thing, of course....but it did make him wonder here and there.

Mari felt her smile only growing when he grinned back at her. It was so stupid, but the sight only ever made her light up. She should have been used to it by now. She remembered a time when she never got to see him smile. Granted, that had been years ago now, but it did make her feel better. "There has to be a way. Otherwise I'm just going to have to squeeze you until your eyes pop out and I know there's better ways than that," she mused lightly, pecking his jaw in amusment. She found it all rather funny to be honest. "We need to get up," she complained after a moment or two.
