"It was just a nightmare, darling" He explained softly

"What about?" she asked softly.

"You..." He stated softly, watching one of his own hands trail up and down her thigh with a single finger. It was a mindless motion, but the fear and mental pain still lingered in his eyes and he couldn't meet Lorelei's as he explained, shame written on his features even though the nightmare wasn't real. "They came for you, all of them. My father, his snipers, his hackers, everyone with my father, and I wasn't home. You were home. They used you until you were bloody and on the floor and I came home to you being abused. They killed you right in front of me--slowly. Before torturing me and killing me as well. I had to live without you--no less after watching you be used and die infront of me."

"Honey, thats not gonna happen, I promise. You keep me so safe," she whispered to him reassuringly.

"You didn't feel safe at my house, you don't feel safe with my driving--and I understand why--You don't feel safe under all the feelings, I know it" He muttered, his voice shaky

"Kai, honey, no," she whispered gently. "Im scared of your house because we keep getting attacked there and you get hurt having to defend me. I'm not scared of your driving, I'm scared of speeding," she explained softly. "My mom passed away in a speeding accident, that's why," she whispered.

"I don't care that I got hurt defending you. I would give my life time and time again for you to not even have a scratch on you." He said quietly, eyes meeting hers and his hand stilling. He gazed at her for a moment. "You never told me how your mom passed"

Lorelei cupped his face. "Kai, I cant see you hurt like that because you were protecting me. I dont know what I'd do with myself if you died doing so," she whispered. She nodded, "I know, I don't like talking about it," she whispered. "And I'm not mad with you for speeding, because you didn't know,"

"I won't do it again, baby" he promised softly. "I love you and I still can't believe I didn't slow down immediately. I don't know if I can forgive myself for it." He admitted softly

Lorelei shook her head. "Kai, it's okay, i forgive you, it's was just a little mistake. No one got hurt,"
