Sage had settled in his spot between the girls, nibbling at his own food but keeping an eye on Liz. He still occasionally had to reach over and move her plate a bit further away from the edge, or remind her not to make a huge mess and that sort of thing. She was growing though, and was much better than she was even a few months prior.

Elara stood and started cleaning everything up, stacking her plate in the bucket they had of dirty dishes which they took to the creek to clean. Varys scratched at the door outside, the woman letting him in, confused why he was in so early before seeing his muzzle stained red, noting he had already caught something in the short period of time.

Sage had moved to help gather up plates and such, the. Turned to work at wiping the berry juices off of Liz's face and hands. The girl squirmed around the whole time, as usual, so he practically had to sit on her to clean her off, but it got done eventually, and she immediately ran off to play with the wolf, while sage caught his breath and moved to wipe off the juice that she'd gotten on him during their little wrestle.

"Here, you're just smearing it everywhere." Elara mused, getting a rag and wiping the juice off his face. "There, maybe don't get into wrestling matches with dirty toddlers.

Sage just wrinkled his nose slightly when she teased him but let her wipe his face off anyway. "Well, she'd have gotten it over every other inch of the place if I hadn't done it," he huffed softly. "But thanks," he added with a soft chuckle.

She chuckled, shoving him playfully. "I know she would, and afterwards she'd probably be like 'do you like my painting'." Elara mused, grabbing the basket of dishes and slipping out the door.

Sage groaned with a nod, glancing over at Liz again once the dishes were all in the basket for elara to go wash, before moving back towards Elara as she moved for the door. He did make sure to wrap a warm cloak around the woman's shoulders before she escaped, murmuring a quick "don't freeze out there, yeah," to her lightly before moving to just work at tidying the cabin up a bit more.

"I won't," She assured, pulling the cloak over her head as she made her way to the creek. Elara sat and started washing the dishes, a figure dashing in the corner of her eye. The woman's gaze snapped up to it, seeing the familiar faces of Nate and Dorian, both of the men carrying large sacks in their hands. "Nate," She breathed, pulling her brother into a quick embrace before giving a nod of acknowledgement to Dorian. Nate cleared his throat, offering the sack as the wind blew his hood down, his sister's face paling at how tired and how many years older he looked. "We brought these, figured it'd be hard out here as winter comes. It has loads of berries and a bunch of dried meat, the stuff will last for a long time." He explained, Elara taking the bags before setting them down and telling them to sit as she continued to clean the dishes. "How's the castle? You look so. . ." She trailed off, Nate interupting. "Different? Yeah well, I haven't slept in days, and half the council members are loyal to father while the other half aren't, i'm afraid conflicts will reach the public and go even further." He explained, the group finishing the discussion before the men quickly hurried back, Elara walking inside with the sacks on her shoulders and the basket of now clean dishes in hand.

Sage had focused on just keeping Liz occupied inside, since it was getting cold out and he didn't want her to go catch a cold. He made sure she was settled in the corner, though when elara came back she'd run to greet her again. He groaned softly, though when he noticed the sack she was carrying his eyes widened and he moved to take it from her, since she still had dishes and such in her hands. "What's all this," he asked, sort of peeking into the sack with surprise when he saw all the food. It was already dried too, which would help them out a lot. "Where the hell did all this come from," he asked, setting it on the counter and then looking back at her, though he kept his voice lowered so as not to bother Liz, who'd gone back to her dolls.

Elara greeted the girl, telling her to go play as she set the dishes down, chuckling at Sage's interest. "It's a bunch of berries and dried meats, they should last a while." She explained, making sure Liz was busy with the dolls. "It's from Nate and Dorian, that's not all though." The woman lowered her voice to a whisper, repeating what she'd been told. "Half of the council is loyal to my father, the other half aren't, Nate's stuck in the middle of it and said he's afraid if the conflicts reach the public, it'll split the kingdom," She paused, looking away. "He's scared it'll start a war."
