Sage had closed his eyes, just sort of resting there while he waited. When he heard Mari come in, he opened them and gave her a sort of tired hum in greeting, reaching out his hand to hold hers. It was almost hesitant, since she'd snapped earlier ...but he knew it wasn't entirely his fault. So he made the attempt. "I miss you, you know," he noted softly with a sigh. "I miss our home." She saw him, but it was when she popped in to make sure he was being cared for. Not much else. He misses just ...having her there. Waking up with her in his arms. He misses the kids, and all the animals. The comfort of home.

Mari tried a little smile to him when he offered his hand, but she couldn't help the way it dimmed slightly as she clocked the hesitation. That wasn't normal. She just sighed and reached out to take his hand softly in hers, although stayed sat firmly in the chair. Her brows pinched together when he spoke, then just sighed. "I'm always here," she murmured. It was part of the issue - she was always here. Maybe not with Sage, but she was already growing tired of running around after... everyone, really. You couldn't miss someone if they were always there, could you? She nodded at his second comment, though. "I miss home too," she whispered. "I miss our bed and the the couch," she mused.

Sage nodded as she spoke, sighing softly. She was always there....but she was busy. She was taking care of him, not really spending time with him. With the family. He'd been taken from him home, away from his family, for weeks....and now he was stuck alone in the doctors ward. He'd only even seen his children once. "Yeah," he hummed softly. He wanted to go home. He knew he'd been hurt pretty bad, but it had been nearly a week in the ward. He was good enough....he wanted his home. His family. "I want to go home, Mari," he whispered softly, closing his eyes tiredly.

Mari looked down at him for a few moments, her brows pinching. He still wasn't... good. She didn't want something to go wrong while they were at home, when she didn't have the doctor there to help. She could only do so much, and she really would be waiting on him hand and foot. She didn't mind, but he'd drive himself crazy just sat in bed there. "Sage, if something happened while you were at home..." she paused, shaking her head. "You've already had a nightmare and fallen out of bed. I don't think it's smart," she whispered.

Sage let out a sort of breath when Mari noted she was worried something might happen. "I know," he sighed. "It's just been so long," he murmured, shifting in bed slightly. In all honesty, he was still pretty drugged up anyway, and he wasn't sure he wanted to just stop them in order to go home, too. "I'm fine, Mari....that was one time," he noted. It was halfheartedly said, of course...it could happen again he supposed. But he also sort of felt like he'd be more settled in at home. "I should probably stay another week....but I just...miss it," he noted softly, squeezing her hand slightly. "I miss our family. The way things are while we're just relaxing at home."

Mari nodded slightly when he explained it all, but she still just... she didn't want him going home. It was where he had been kidnapped. It was where all of this started. If he saw the kitchen and that triggered something, she wouldn't know what to do, especially if he hurt himself. "It hasn't just been one time. You're renowned for waking up trying to hurt yourself," she sighed, her brows pinching tightly together. It had been one time this time, but that could easily change. She just wanted him to settle. "Just a few more days, babe. We'll go back to normal when you're better, hm? If you'd like i can get the kids in here more for you."

Sage sighed when she pointed out he woke up often. "So I'll take pills and knock myself out," he noted with a sort of pout. But when she mentioned they'd stay for a few more days, he sort of sighed in defeat and nodded. He knew he wouldn't win this one....and he knew she was right. But still....he just wanted to go home. To sleep in his own bed, see his family. "Ok," he noted softly, nodding when she mentioned the kids. "Don't bore them with me but....that would be nice," he added softly, squeezing her hand in thanks. In all honesty, it got lonely in here. Boring. It let his mind wander too much. The drawings were helpful, but even so it was only so much to do.

Mari shook her head. She was pretty serious about all of this. It just... well, it wasn't safe for him to be home. Sleeping pills were fine, but what about when he started seeing things? Granted, that hadn't happened in a good few years now, but the thought was still there. It still scared her more than she'd liked to admit. If he hurt himself... she didn't want to think about it. Staying here until he was a little bit more stable was the best thing for him. "They're your kids, Sage. You don't have to beg to see them. If you want to see them, just ask, hm?" She asked softly, her brows pinching together. She drew her hand back after a few moments sort of pouting at him. "Try sleep," she murmured.

Sage nodded as she spoke again, a soft smile forming on his face. "I know....I just don't want to make them nervous or upset they need to come sit in here rather than play or whatever," he noted with a shrug. He would have stayed and talked more, but as Mari mentioned sleep, his body betrayed him and he could only hum a soft goodnight before he'd passed out. He had been busy, he supposed ...drawing and all. So it made sense he would be tired. He let himself rest, knowing that the more he rested the better he'd get. And the better he got the sooner he could go home.

Mari watched him quietly for a few minutes as he drifted off, although once she was sure he was settled she stood and wandered off to see to the kids. They'd been staying in the maids quaters, just so they were close, and there was a bed in there for Mari too if she really wanted it... but, she had to admit that she was struggling with getting her mind to settle down. So, she just sat and read a book until early the next morning, when she went to go make some breakfast for them all. She made the choice to go see to Sage with the kids... maybe if the kids were there it'd make Sage eat properly. So, once they were up, she wandered down to the ward with them, tray in hands and two rather excited children running ahead.
