Her brows shot up. Shit. She was speechless. She'd never thought she'd ever go there, she'd have to put on something nice for the occasion.

"I'm assuming that's not what you expected, huh?" He said, chuckling. "It's alright, I get it." He stood, going to his car and grabbing a diamond necklace from the backseat. "Here" He said softly, handing her the box. "For you"

Lorelei took the box cautiously. She opened it and gasped. It was stunning. Absolutely stunning. But it was too much, wayyy too much. "Kai, I can't take this," she handed the box back to him. This was starting to feel like a relationship way too fast. Staying with her over night, making her breakfast, taking her to a fancy lunch place, and now this necklace? It was all happening way too fast and it was making Lorelei uncomfortable. "Its too much, and this lunch thing, its still too much, I can't accept it,"

"I won't take it back. It's a gift and I- Never mind. I understand. I'm not trying to do anything like that, it's just I feel like I owe you since you didn't, y'know, try to kill me or anything when I barged in here so rudely a couple nights ago..." He muttered, rambling now. "I' gonna head out and I'll pick you up at noon. Um.." His eyes were sad, but he didn't take the box anyways. He walked out her door without another word, getting into his car and slowly driving back to his house. Once it was ten minutes to pick-up, he changed into a sharp suit that accented his hair and eyes well. He drove to her house, knocking on the door.

Lorelei sighed, irritated now. She hadn't meant to upset him, but this wasn't the way to her heart. She just wanted to get to know him, not get expensive jewelry and lunches. She'd much rather have books if he had to buy her something. Lorelei set the box on the counter and went off to get ready. She put on a modest blue dress made of satin. It was a halterneck knee length dress, nice and flowy, just how she liked it. She pinned her hair up and popped on some black heels, answering the door when he knocked. "Hey,"

"Hey. You look great." He said softly, offering his arm to her. He walked her to the car, opening the passenger door and shutting it after her. He got in on his side, sighing with relief and excitement before driving them to The Lounge. He gave the name Vitelli to the man at the podium, the man nodding and saying "Welcome back, sir. You haven't visited us recently." Kai nodded in acknowlaadgement as he was led to a private booth in the far back of the restraunt, people not even batting an eye as they fit right in. "Right here work for tonight, sir?" The waiter asked, gesturing to the booth. Kai nodded, handing the man a hundred dollar bill. "I'll be right out for your order" The waiter said, his voice even and a smile on his face. "Thank you" Kai sid politely, sitting and gesturing to Lorelei's seat. "Ever been here?"

Lorelei sat down in her seat. She shook her head, "No I haven't," she replied simply. She dove right into reading the menu. The more she was here the more she hated it. Lorelei hated getting all fancy and going out for unnecessarily expensive meals. She'd much rather be in an old library or bookstore with a pastry and coffee in hand as she browsed the selection of books. She'd much rather be in a hoodie and sneakers than in a silly dress and heels. If the man had actually taken any time to get to know the woman before dragging her out to this lunch and buying her fancy necklaces, he would've known that she actually hated this lifestyle.

Kai watched her curiously for a few minutes before standing. "C'mon." He said, smiling. He walked her out the door without so much as a backward glance and drove her home. "I will be back in five, I promise" He said softly, smiling with an idea. He ran home and changed into a hoodie and sweatpants before driving qquickly back to her house and knocking.

Loreleiwas confused. She didnt know what he was planning or doing, so Lorelei just stayed in her dress and heels, assuming he'd planned something fancy. When he came back and knocked, she opened the door. "Yeah?"

"Get changed in the bathroom. An hurry. The bookstore closes in two hours." He said simply, gesturing to the bathroom
