He smiled a bit, at least he'd missed her face. "Thank you, didn't think I was gonna make it." He joked. He watched her for a moment before patting her shoulder as she moved off as if she was a dude. Crow was in just about the same spot. He climbed onto the wall and then right back onto his horse's saddle. He headed right in the direction he was supposed to go. That may very well have been the biggest win he'd ever gotten. He returned to a different line where the Knight's who already had jousted were, and he was the first one there.

Kitty was disqualified from the next round because of her fall off, and there were still a few more to go in the first round. So she let Sam hold Grimm and gestured for him to untack him, walking another way to change into clothes she could be... not Kaden in. She changed quicjly into an ivory colored blouse and black leggings, plus boots. She started making her way through the crowd to the other side of the arena so she could be with Ali, getting cat-called a few times by some drunk (and also undrunk) men. She pulled her bun out and let her hair down, since it was just... more fun. She made her way over by ignoring them, slipping past the minimal security and making her way to his side. She smiled up at him, ignoring the strange looks a few other knights were giving her. "Hello there."

He'd been paying attention to the round mostly and didn't notice Kitty come to his side. He looked over at the other knights, they were making strannge expressions in his general direction, he looked st his side as she spoke. "How's it going?" As if she hadn't been there moments eariler. There had been several jousts since she left. They were almost finished with the first round. He glanced up as a particularly rough hit came to a knight's face in the arena. He inhaled through his teeth. "It hurts just as much to watch." He said quietly but enough for her to hear, slightly leaning toward her. Edited at August 6, 2023 10:05 PM by Prismatic Cove

She winced as she looked up in time to see a man absokutely hammered in the face, giving him a small nod in assent. She had her arms crossed and was leaning very lightly against his leg and his saddle. "Excited for your next turn? I mean, the other must be pretty terrified of you. You unseated the Dark Knight." She teased, her eyes twinkling as she looked up at him. The final joust for Round 1 completed soon after, and knights were sent back and forth. Ali got to stay where he was.

Crow turned back to nose at her, he grinned a bit. "I mean we could say that. I hope they're afraid of me, its far funner when they're afraid then when you're afraid." He teased. He watched intently now, the first teo names were called soon after. It wasn't him. This next was what appeared to be two evenly matched knights. First one was both hitting, second was one hitting the other, and the first was the one who got hit being unhorsed. That was quite a show, he tilted his head, watching as they both walked back to their sides.

Kitty smiled, rubbing Crow's nose happily. "Well, yknow, if you're scary you don't have to worry about it." She teased. After, Ali's and some other knights name got called. She gave him a smile, figuring she would act as his squire and walking with him to his bucket of lances. "Good luck." She smiled.

He chuckled a llittle, looking up as his name was called. Jacob (satorious-) something or other. He'd never heard of him. He nudged Crow forward, Kate at his side. He nodded down at her. That smile was so nice. He leaned forward and grabbed a medium lance. Spinning around, the flag dropped. And there they went down the line. Ali got a square hit on the man's chest. He threw the lance down, the other knight's lance had grazed off of him. He found another medium lance and readied for the flag again. This knight had a squire inconspicuously hand him a lance. These weren't on the racks. Ali thought this was going to go smoothly, but he didn't know that there was a kink in the plan. The flag dropped and they both started energetically. Ali brushed off of the other knight's midsection for good reason. He didn't have much time to think about what happened, dazed. His eyes tunneled slightly. He was threatening to fall off, slightly stunned. A sizable chunk of wood and metal was jammed between his armor plates and right into his shoulder. It appeared to be dislocated in the process. He grabbed onto the saddle as a lifeline, not wanting to roll off. Thankfully Crow had stopped, he didn't know why Edited at August 6, 2023 10:46 PM by Prismatic Cove

Kitty was shamelessly screaming for him from her side, watching him waith a smile. She turned to see the knight reloading his lance... with one that wasn't from the rack. It registered in her brain almost as the flag dropped. It took her a moment too long to shout something, but no one heard anyway. She made frantic gestures to Ali that he didn't see, letting out a furstrated whimper as the worst happened. She took off running down the straight before he had even stopped. She quickly grabbed Crow's reins and speedwalked him back, looking across the arena and watching as... Jacob, took off his helmet as a judge began yelling at him. Memorizing his build. His horse. Every detail of his face. With a disgusted sigh she ushered Crow back to the barn. No one was going to help him, she knew that. She managed to get him into the barn without him falling off, helping him messily down from Crow and guiding him to a haybale. "Shit." She murmured, looking down the hall at where James was polishing Grimm's bridle. "Hey, kid! Get this horse untacked." She demanded. He gave her a quizzical look, but did as he was told anyway. She ran into the storage room and snatched up her bag, walking back out and pulling his helmet off, tossing it unceremoniously to the ground beside her as she began to quickly untie his armor. He had barely managed to get himself back onto the seat, suppressing a whine of pain as he moved back into the saddle. He was holding with what all his legs had. He looked around, seeing that Kitty was the ome leading him back to the barn. He shook his ahead, trying to regain his bearings. He was hunched over slightly over Crow's neck til Crow stopped. He slipped off the saddle the wrong way to avoid any touching of the sliver of wood In his shoulder. He grimaced, leaning on the wall. He started peeling of some of his armor while she was gone. Til she got back. He hqd to let her do some of the bigger pieces, but soon enough his armor was off. He panted slightly. He couldn't take the padding off with it in his arm. He made a very in the moment decision. He wouldn't have been able to pull it out had he waited any long. He yelped, leaning forward, the chunk of metal in his hand a little longer before he chucked it away. He took in a very shaky breath. Quite lightheaded, he let it hang sligjtly fkr a moment before he pulled off the padding, which was like a puffy cotton sweater. That hurt too.

She gasped quietly as he yanked it out himself, pressing him back against the wall so he sat straight. "Holy shit." She murmured, reaching into her bag and grabbing some clear liquid. She grabbed a rag, holding it out for him to take with his good hand. "Bite down on that." She ordered, quickly splashing some of the alcohol onto his wound and letting it sizzle. It was still doing its best to bleed out, so she barely had time to put some sort of powder on it before she had to start bandaging it. She was quite fast, getting him relatively patched up in a matter of minutes. She bit her lip, unsure if he would be able to handle relocating his shoulder. "Ali? If you're coherent, I need to know if you can handle a little more pain." She asked him quietly, reaching up a hand to tilt his head toward her so she could look at his eyes.
