Tyler laughed. "Yes, I have write.. some. I have one I'm sure you'd love. Anyway, my favorite rock song is either back in black or thunderstruck. AC/DC is an artist I tell you." He chuckled, then looked at her expression. "Would you like me to sing one?"

she nodded slowly. then she thought of her own voice, one that she had tried to hard to keep hidden for the most of her life, even now.

"Okay, here goes nothing. He cleared his throat, singing the chorus. "If you trust your rebel heart, ride it into battle don't Ben afraid, take the road less traveled wear out your boots, kick up the gravel, don't Be afraid take the road less traveled." He sang low, but it was upbeat. "Well? How was my horrible voice?"

her eyes went wide the longer he sang. her jaw dropped. "horrible? that is horrible!?" she shook her head. "try this one." she closed her eyes as she sang: "1 strike, i let him in my mind, 2 strikes, i remember that time, 3 strikes i went and hit reply, i know i know, i crossed the line. i know it makes you mad when i romanticise my past, bye bye, sorry to waste your time, i know i know, i crossed the line."

Tyler tipped his head, trying to remember that one. He followed her tune, singing in a deeper voice, "1 strike I let him in my mind, 2 Strike I remembered that time, 3 strikes I went and hit reply.." Tyler stopped. "Nope, I can't do it" he laughed. "This is another one I wrote." He cleared his threat quickly, twisting his face as he got the right tune. "Tonight is bottoms up, up, kick it on back rock this quiet little country town and get up. Drop a tailgate on ya truck, find a keg and fill your cup, up, kick it back. Pretty little girl lookin at ya like that, makes ya wanna slide in like, hey girl what's up? Tonight it's bottoms up." Tyler finished. "I'm. Out of practice..." he chuckled

she smiled then her she dropped her eye brows when she tried to think of another song. "wait... wait..." she put her palm over her eyes then threw it down to her side and began singing "i never met your dad. you lost him when you were just ten, i bet you wish he were, so you could send him a call of a message, but there's no cell reception in heaven." she transitioned into the super high notes "and if he were here he would tell you your strong, and thank you for taking great care of your mom, and it is more than i can put in a song, but it can't come from anyone else, someday he'll tell you yourself, mhm, mhm, someday he'll tell you himself, mhm, mhm" she blushed after she finished. she didn't mean to sing to anyone, not now not ever. she looked down. she wasn't to fond of her own voice. his was amazing "i got some of the lyrics wrong" she giggled softly

Tyler's eyes kind of glazed over as he listened. "What is the name of that song?" He asked softly, thinking of a song he wrote for his father... that wasn't really his father. James.. John... Carter.. not his real dad but the one who raised him.

"someday by Jessica Biao, i think" she watched him. "why?" her mind raced: "is he going to tell me i was singing it wrong? what if my voice really does suck and he wants to hear a great voice. was i not hitting the high notes well enough?" she dropped her eyes, a look of defeat covering her beauriful features. her freckles and the birthmark on her chin that traveled down to the top of her neck always got darker when she was in the sun, so, because she had been outside, they were darker than usual compared to her pale skin.

"You're a beautiful singer." Tyler murmured, thinking about the song. "I have one more song I made up." He cleared his threat, taking a breath. "I grew up without a father.. he died when I was young, but there's another man.. he ain't here no more, that raised me as a kid. We used to ride out to the battlefield. And he'd tell me stories bout the past. He taught me things I'd need to know. And answered questions I'd ask. I hope he's smiling up there, and looking down. And proud of this wild child that came around." Tyler sang in a low voice, then changed to a little higher note. "I got my pop's last name, still feel his hand on my shoulder. I can hear him say, you'll understand when you get older. Today I couldn't be more grateful.. thankful.. or proud. I got my pop's.. last.. name." Tyler finished the chorus. There was sorrow in his voice, but it just made his singing sound more real. "If you are confused I can tell you the story behind it. It might help you feel better about... your father.." Tyler said slowly

she blushed at his complement then listened to his singing. she nodded when he was finished. "i feel like this story is going to be sad, so you don't have to if you don't want to." she reached up and placed her hand softly on his shoulder. and looked up at him.
