As soon as Sage heard her go upstairs, he checked to make sure and then slid out the window and took off into the forest. He killed a deer and cleaned it quickly, then brought the meat back to the house. He had spent a lot of time on his own, so he knew how to make good food. He picked a few herbs and berries along the way and turned the oven on and started to cook the meat and set the berries to the side. While it was cooking, Sage found a cool looking frying pan and flipped it a few times and then imitated sword fighting moves with it just to have some fun. Once it was cooked he set everything on the table. Then he had a great idea and got candles out of the cabinet and set them up on the table and even used his own powers to light them different abstract colors, like Maxine used in her paintings. "Dinners ready," he yelled and went to block the entryway to the kitchen. She would have to close her eyes to come in. It was a surprise, after all |

After she'd finished writing she closed the book and hid it underneath the blankets she'd packed glancing around her room admittedly... she was sad to leave the place but this was just a roof and four walls now... her home was with Sage wherever he went she'd follow. She sighed and filled one of the smaller pockets with a few other little odds and ends she wanted to keep with her, a few necklaces and bracelets but that was about it. "Are you done yet?" she called with a chuckle "I'm hungry!" she whined playfully. |

He smirked and put his hands on his hips. "Think about how I feel. Hmm...you might make me a tasty snack and then I can eat all your food too," he joked. "Close your eyes. It's a surprise, you said it yourself." He went around behind her and put his hands on her shoulders so he could guide her into the kitchen and to her chair once she closed her eyes. |

Maxine laughed "Alright while i'm out I'll grab some icecream..." she chuckled "We can eat the whole pint tonight..." she smirked as she closed her eyes and let him guide her. When she sat in her chair she waited for him to walk off before she opened her eye to peek at him quickly closing it when he turned to come back waiting patiently. |

He grinned and chuckled. "Sounds great to me." He sat her down, grabbed the ice cream quickly and then came back to the table and sat down next to her. "You can open your eyes now," he laughed. "you could have earlier. I doubt the ice cream is gonna change it much." |

Maxine opened her eyes her beautiful blue eyes widening in surprise "Wow... you really can cook..." she said in utter surprise "Also you didn't tell me I could before..." she told him with a smirk. "Wow... I'm impressed..." Maxine admitted happily kissing his cheek "This is a great surprise... thank you" she cooed happily before she eagerly took a bite "Mmm!" she chirped "Wow... okay i'm really really impressed!" she chirped nodding in approval "Alright some nights you are definitely on kitchen duty..." she chuckled with a nod. |

He laughed. "That's true I guess " Then he smirked and leaned back in the chair. "What did you expect me to do, light my hand on fire, char something, and put it on the table in the still hot pan," he joked. He was glad she liked it, and to be completely honest with himself, if it was anyone else, the example he gave in his joke wasn't too far off from what he'd do. |

"I don't know..." she admitted with a laugh "I'm not sure what I expected..." she admitted "I definitely didn't expect you to be so good at it..." she snickered "Now I feel pathetic for my speghetti the other night..." she blushed with a laugh. After she'd eaten her share she went to work on the dishes it was only fair if he cooked she did the dishes... when she'd finished those she looped her arms around his neck "Now you go and get your food... and I'll go ship my paintngs..." she smiled "We'll meet back here and sleep for a bit maybe before we start heading off... In fact I'm gonna bring home something to make our travels a little easier." she smirked playfully. |

He smiled and nodded with a chuckle. "Alright." He thought for a second and then pointed out they should bring some food with them. "Stuff that won't go bad soon. I've got the other half of the deer meat on the counter made into jerky. That'll be good for eating on the go." He kissed her on the forehead and slipped out the door, heading for town. There was always people in one of the hospitals or nursing homes or in the alleyways that were dead or dying. |

Maxie gave a happy nod "Okay I'll pack that up and get some non-parishables for us." she assured before she headed out taking her paintings to the post office then to the store to get food and an extra helmet. When she got back home on her motorcycle she parked it in front of the house and went inside waiting for Sage the icecream and two spoons waiting for the two of them. |
