Sage had groggily plopped down at the counter, sipping at the water Mari poured him. However, when she started talking, he sort of just ....stared at her blankly for a few moments. He wasn't sure she noticed, since she was moving around the kitchen again, planning everything out. He definitely didn't process anything she was saying, but he could guess at it. He just nodded along blearily after a few moments, deciding his brain wouldnt catch it all but it would be fine.

Mari continued to hustle for a while, at least until she heard the floor boards creeking upstairs. She stood still for a moment very much like a deer in the headlights until she saw Silas waddling downstairs, fully dressed and dragging his schoolbag along with him. She watched him for a moment before shaking her head, grabbing the bag and hanging it up by the door. "No, sweetheart, you don't have to go in today," she told him gently. The boy just sort of stared at her before turning to the table to sit down. She frowned slightly, but hustled upstairs to see that Liz was at least awake before wandering back downstairs.

Sage was somewhat more awake by the time Silas wandered downstairs, though grunted slightly when Mari told him he didn't need to go to school. He rather agreed with her ..he didn't want to chance anything happening at the school with them there. He doubted the school would be a target of ...whatever this was, but still. He didn't want to risk it. He patted his leg, still sort of groggy but slowly waking up, and Silas moved to climb into his lap happily while Mari went to check on Liz.

Mari wandered back downstairs after a while, her eyes soft. Liz would be down when she was ready, she was sure. She settled down at the table, eating in about two minutes flat before starting to clear things up and what little mess she'd managed to make while cooking. "I'm going shopping this morning, before my shift.... do you need anything?" She asked Sage, waiting for a reply before heading back upstairs to get changed, then coming back down and slipping her shoes on.

Sage had mostly woken up once he'd eaten, and had glanced over at Mari when she took so little time to sit and eat. He shook his head on response to her question, though, humming in thought. "Don't think so," he noted, sliding Silas off his lap and moving to help clean up the dishes and whatnot. "I'll stay here with the kids, and see if your mom and brothers want to stop by for dinner," he added.

Mari nodded slightly, slipping a jacket on before wandering over to peck his cheek lightly. "I'll go see them now," she hummed, waving the kids a goodbye before wandering out the house quickly towards her mothers house. Xander and Anthony were outside already, thankfully looking fairly happy. Safe, at least. She didn't spend long talking to them, just explaining what had happened and offering dinner to them... really, offering for them to come see the kids any time after lunch. They'd agreed, thankfully, and she soon went about shopping and the likes before returning home to get ready for her shift.

Sage had nodded with a light hum of agreement, moving to start cleaning up breakfast once she'd headed out, letting the kids go play. He didn't let them go far, of course....so when he went out to the barn he took them with. They were more than happy to help out with chores, of course, but by the time he was done they were all tired, so he moved back to the house and worked on some art orders while the kids rested.

Mari wandered in to put the shopping away, saying a quick hello to the kids before wandering upstairs to get changed for work. She poked her head in on Sage and chucked some snacks in the art room for him before wandering off to work fairly quickly... she was early, but she just needed something to do. So, she got to work quickly, making sure the place was clean, changing the beds in the inn and setting tables for the night.

Sage called a thanks out to Mari when she tossed some snacks in, but he was focused in on the painting, so he only really half processed she was there. That was normal, of course, which was why she'd just tossed food in without really saying anything. They'd grown used to that dynamic by now....when he hyper focused on something breaking his concentration took a decent bit of effort on her part. He did need to get these orders done though, especially since they'd need new carpeting and such. He knew Maris family would wander over eventually, but until then he would paint. They'd come find him when they got here.

Mari stayed a long while at the tavern, and managed to pick up some left overs from the kitchen. She could make up some more things later on, but she didn't really want to cook all too much. Just as she was on her way back, she saw her mother through the kitchen window, and waved happily after a few moments, wandering inside happily. She waved her off with a chuckle. "Stop working in my kitchen!" she chirped happily, putting her bag on the table before going to find Sage.
