Goose still couldn't help but shake his head in amazement, his jokes stalled for the moment. He was so happy that Ajax found someone as kind and perfect as Mercy. Goose had been with Ajax for years, and the man had always been more surly, rude, and grumpy before Mercy came. After her... Ajax had just lightened up so much. His jokes had improved, which was incredible, and he was more open. He was just happier in general. Of course Goose was a little sad that with all this he didn't get to spend as much time with Ajax any more, buuut that was probably a good thing. Mercy was a much better influence.

"I am definitely not qualified to walk you down the aisle, but I'll do my very best." Goose said with a smile, though instead of his usual teasing smile it was much gentler and kinder... not that he wasn't kind already. He then held out his arm, starting towards the lake.

Ajax was absolutely terrified at this point, probably more than he ever had been in his life. Honestly, after Bellatrix had attacked, he was laying bleeding on the ground, close to his second death, and he still wasn't as darn scared as he was now. He looked like a literal beggar that through on a suit and called it good. Plus as he said before, he didn't deserve Mercy! She was absolutely perfect, in every way shape and form. She was an ANGEL for pete crying out loud.. and he was just a dumb demon. Nothing could compare. He fiddled nervously with the bottom of the jacket while he waited, almost surprised as he looked down to see he was indeed wearing a light blue shirt underneath, a little darker blue tie, the light blue handkerchief (Honestly auto correct spelled that for me xD), and the black suit. He never expected to have to wear light blue. Buuut on that note he would wear neon pink if it meant spending his time with Mercy.

"Just make sure I don't fall on my face. You can do that, right?" Mercy teased lightly, a floaty sense of calm washing over her as the anxiety eased away. She was getting married. To the love of her life. Or, afterlife. But still, she was more than eager to get out there.

She took his arm lightly and flipped her veil lightly over her face, adjusting it before she fell into step with him. It was a small, calm walk to the lake through a tree-lined path. She took a deep breath before they turned into the aisle, offering Ajax a small, dazzling smile as he came into view. He looked so good in a suit- it felt like a fever dream, seeing him so dressed up. She tightened her grip over so slightly on Goose's arm as they approached, the fear of falling suddenly far from her mind. She parted from him at the altar and moved to stand across from Ajax, smiling easily at him. "Hi." She whispered softly, searching his face for his reaction.

Goose let out a small laugh. "I will make it my goal to not let you fall." He promised, his slow strides easy going and calm- this was a moment to be remembered and even he knew that.

Ajax got more and more worried with every passing second, but as soon as Mercy came into view every other thing fell away. He felt like passing out and losing his brain and fifty million other things but his body would not respond to any command. All he really could do was be rather slack jawed and wide eyed as he saw an angel, in every meaning of the word, walking up the aisle of trees and flowers towards him. She looked like something out of a dream. He could have never imagined anything that even scraped this. Her dress was stunning, her hair was stunning, everything was stunning, and it definitely stunned him. He had absolutely no idea anyone could look that perfect. Considering he already thought she was perfect before this, he would have to come up with a phrase that meant better than perfect to describe this moment. No, wait... this moment was indescribable. Her face... those beautiful blue eyes and that smile he had fallen in love with so long ago. As Mercy came up and parted from Goose he finally figured out that he could still move his face, blinking once to make sure he wasn't ACTUALLY dreaming, his face curling into a still rather shocked smile. "... there aren't words to describe how beautiful you look.. how did you even pull off making Goose not faint?" Ajax said quietly as he scrambled to regain his bearings. +HI? THATS REALLY HER FIRST WORDS?+ his brain thought at the same time. Nothing. Nothing could ever come close to this feeling.

Mercy giggled softly in response to his words, reaching her hand forward slightly to brush her fingertips over his knuckles. "I think you look even better. And honestly? I have no idea. Maybe he's immune to my beauty." She joked softly, pulling her hand back and glancing at the officiant as he started speaking. She shifted on her feet, bringing her gaze back to Ajax and not bothering to pull it away.

Ajax felt like he was a blob of jelly with no bones, but he managed to stay standing and mostly straight and listen to the officiant all at once. How, he didn't know. "No one I look better than anything, Mercy. You literally look like something from a dream of a king. I'm surprised I didn't just collapse." He shook his head slightly in amazement. His eyes were slightly glazed, like he was trying so hard to not disconnect his brain that his eyes didn't work anymore. Then again, it could also be the dampness... of course he wasn't CRYING, because that would NEVER happen, but it was a rather emotional moment. Nothing could go wrong.

Mercy swiped at her eyes quietly at his response, shaking her head. "Stop being so sweet." She chuckled, blushing slightly at the overload of compliments. Not that she would ever complain about Ajax calling her pretty. She didn't listen to a thing the officiant said, too absorbed by the glory of her almost-husband. Eventually, almost without her realizing it, it was Ajax's turn to read off his vows. She took a small step forward, taking both of his hands and looking up at him quietly.

Ajax was in a daze. He definitely didn't hear a single word the officiant said, he didn't hear the chirping of birds or the splashing of the lake, he didn't hear anything. All he could see was Mercy. When it did loop around and become time to say his vows he slid out of his trance and brought the words he had mumbled to himself for hours into his mind. "I know it might seem like I'm repeating myself, but bear with me. Mercy, you are by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. There are too many words to describe you. Kind, compassionate, caring, loving, smart, beautiful, and many, many others. You have stuck with me through thick and thin, and held me up through my darkest days. You never cease to amaze me in any way. You are perfect, not using the word lightly, in everything you say and do. Your appearance is amazing, don't get me wrong, but it was not what I fell in love with when I met you. Instead of scorning me or ignoring me, you helped Me. You have continued to help and care for many people and things. You shine brighter than the sun. I love you so much, Mercy. More than anything in the world." Ajax fixed his eyes on hers as he spoke, every single word true.

Mercy watched Ajax intently as he spoke, her gaze fixed on his face as he spoke. She ran her thumbs gently over the backs of his hands as he spoke, her breaths deep to force herself not to pass out from such an emotional high. She fought tears the longer he spoke, letting out a soft laugh to stop herself from a sob of happiness. She drew one hand back to brush softly at her eyes, smiling at him brightly. She cleared her throat as her time for vows came along.

She cleared her throat softly, offering him a timid smile. "What I wrote in comparison to that is... weak." She chuckled, letting out a soft breath. "But, here I go. Ajax, I can't express how dearly important you have been in my life. In who I am. You make me want to be a better person, if only for you. I want to show you this world you never got the chance to experience, and I, selfishly, want to be by your side for the rest of my life to make sure that happens. I don't think I ever really knew what love was, before I met you. This want to make sure your other half is as happy as they can possibly be. And I'm so, so overjoyed that I have the privilege of being in love with you. I love you, so much." She ended softly, still fighting happy tears by the time she ended. None spilled, but she watched him slightly nervously as she waited for his response.

Ajax's breath caught from pure happiness and a slight flash of worry as beads of moisture appeared in the corner of her eyes. +they're happy tears happy tears+ he thought, calming himself down the best he could. As she started speaking his eyes glimmered with the tears HE was holding back, and his jaw tightened so he didn't just start buzzing with happiness. It was really happening! He was getting MARRIED to the love of his second life! "That was anything but weak Mercy." He said after she finished, his voice thick with emotion. "And I don't know how you ever could be a better person than you already are." He whispered, his eyes twinkling like they always did, just so much brighter. The officiant even looked a little emotional as they said the words Ajax had been long waiting for... *you may now Kiss the bride*

Mercy let out a tear filled giggle as he spoke, grinning at him like a fool as the officiant finally said the words she had been waiting for. She stepped forward gently, curling her arms around him and smiling up at him eagerly as she waited for their moment to come.

It never did.

She jolted in surprise at the sound of a throat being cleared harshly, in an utterly unfriendly way. She kept her gaze on Ajax for a half moment, hoping if she ignored it, it might go away. He, rather. The problem went ahead and clapped his hands slowly letting out a soft whistle. G "That was beautiful. A real tearjerker." He said sarcastically.
