Lucille's mother rolled her eyes and rolled the window up, pulling out of the driveway. |

Lucille had stopped crying, but now she was just miserable. |

Lucille was still curled up in bed. |

Leim sighed and went to the living room and grabbed a blanket and laid on the couch |

The next morning, Lucille woke early. It was her birthday, not starting out to a great start. Leim hadn't come to bed last night and that worried her. She wandered out to the living room, finding him still sleeping on the couch. She glanced over at the kitchen, tears coming to her eyes. Every morning on her birthday, her dad always made her funfetti pancakes and served it to her at the counter, telling her, 'Happy Birthday, Sweetpea,' and kissing her forehead. Now she didn't have her family... Lucille took in a deep breath, "Its just another day..." she muttered, brushing it off and making eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast. She ate her plate and left Leims out on the counter for when he woke before heading outside to go jumping. She had a show this weekend, the last of Nationals, and if she placed, she got to go on to Internationals. |
