Aria laid down next to Sage with a sigh. "Sorry." She whispered, loud enough for him to hear. She didn't know if he still thought she was mad. The girl felt aweful. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face against his chest.

Sage was surprised when Aria apologized, but he wrapped his arms around her. "For what," he asked, cocking his head curiously. "You didn't do anything wrong," he told her, his voice slightly confused.

Aria felt comforted in Sage's arms. "I don't know. I feel like I made you mad." She said. The girl looked into his amber eyes. She loved them so much. He was so cute, she sometimes couldn't even believe he was hers.

Sage hummed lightly and shook his head. "No...I wasn't mad," he hummed. Then he frowned slightly. "Was I acting like it," he asked, a pang of guilt sparking in his chest at the thought that he may have scared her. Edited at June 22, 2023 10:22 AM by NightClan

Aria nodded, tears running down her cheeks. "I got nervous for a second. I thought you would hate me." The girl said sadly. She looked down and sort of leaned into Sage for comfort.

Sage winced when she nodded and had to fight back tears of his own when he sort of rasped out "sorry". He really did feel awful about it. "I just got scared that you were re-thinking marrying me," he told her after a moment, burying his face in her shoulder.

Aria hugged Sage tighter. "No, no it's okay." She said, when he unexpectedly apologized. Aria sort of gasped at his next comment, pulling away from the boy for a second. "Sage! Why would you think that? I would never think about that." The girl said, fighting back more tears.

Sage let out a heavy sigh of relief when she said it was alright. Then he wrinkled his nose and shook his head with a shrug. "Habit? I dunno...I guess it's just becasue everyone else has left me so it's what I'm used to," he admitted quietly.

Aria felt bad for him. "Oh... Were you with someone else before me or something?" The girl asked with a slightly cocked head. She didn't know if he was okay, so she just kissed his forehead softly and smiled.

Sage sighed in thought and shook his head. "Not really...not in the way we're together...it was more of a marry to seal and alliance between the kingdoms sort of relationship," he told her. He curled up into the girl, seeking her comfort. He didn't like talking about his past...it wasn't pleasant...but she deserved to know about it if she was his wife. "But she got upset and left because I got freaked out because of thunder," he huffed. "I don't like loud noises....it's sort of a lasting thing from wars," he admitted. "And it doesn't help anything that my whole family hated me," he grumbled.
