Sage hummed softly and nodded it was true, they didn't know what would happen with the town once the queen died. But he didn't think anything major would happen. "Well, whatever happens we'll be alright," he hummed softly. Though, he sort of whacked at her playfully as she teased him, gaping at her in mock offense. "I don't want to bug you," he protested. "That's very different than lighting a building on fire," he added with a squeak.

Mari smiled lightly to him after a moment. She knew they'd be alright... she did, but she was still worried. She knew the peoples opinion on Anya, she was soft really, and she had no one supporting her. Luther was gone, which people didn't like, and really Anya wasn't handling thing well. She hummed softly after a moment or two. "I know we will. We've never not been alright," she murmured softly. She squeaked when he whacked her, and grabbed his hands to hold him still. "You bug me anyway, it doesn't matter!" She mused. "I'm your wife, you can ask me for things. If you can't do that you're not committing arson," she laughed.

Sage hummed lightly with a nod in response to her comment. He was worried about Anya. She was strong...she could do this. He knew that. He just wished she did. Though, when Mari went to grab his hands he sort of half-heartedly pulled away, though all he succeeded in doing was pulling her on top of him. He couldn't help but laugh when she mentioned he bugged her anyway, just shaking his head in amusement. "Fine, I'll go prove I can do arson then," he chirped. "Next time I go to the castle I'll make a stop at my old tavern and burn it down," he added. He probably wouldn't. .though the idea was quite appealing.

Mari squeaked slightly when he pulled her ontop of him, and she just rolled her eyes and settled down on his hips, holding his hands gently by his head. She leaned forward to peck his lips with a grin spread across her face. "Hey," she mused lightly to him after a moment or two. She pouted at him, and shook her head softly when be threatened to 'do arson'. "You don't have to prove that you can't do it, handsome man," she teased him playfully after a moment or twos. "I already know you won't set anything on fire," she mused to him, a bit of a laugh escaping her. She then looked thoughtful. "Although, if you're planning on setting that god awful tavern on fire I could watch you try," she laughed lightly.

Sage sort of wriggled on half hearted protest as she settled down, the playful pin bringing a chuckle to his lips. He kissed her back happily, though rolled his eyes in response to her next comments. "I could definitely set something on fire if I so chose to," he snorted. "It's just not my preferred weapon of choice. However, I can't fistfight a building and get many results," he mused lightly. "Stabbing it wouldnt do much either, besides maybe break my dagger," he added with a chuckle. Though, he wrinkled his nose slightly with an amused expression on his face when she agreed the tavern could go.

Mari sat up after a moment, and rolled her eyes slightly. She patted his chest, letting go of his hands with a bit of a chuckle. "All you're setting in fire is the log burner," she laughed lightly to him. "You've done a lot since we got married, but you have never ever set fire to anything. You have killed people, nearly killed yourself, gotten us all in trouble and somehow all of us are still alive, but you have never, ever nearly set anything on fire," she laughed softly after a moment or two. "And the last thing we want is you breaking that dagger of yours," she mused softly after a few moment. She leaned forwards, keeping her face close to his. "If you ever decide to light that place on fire though, I'll give you a hand," she laughed.

Sage chuckled softly in response to her comments, sort of working his head up to peck her lips and bringing his hand down from where Mari had put them to wrap them loosely around her. "Well, I suppose things have worked out well that way," he mused lightly. It really was a miracle they were all still alive and this little family was so good. So healthy and happy. But he wouldn't have it any other way. As she mentioned the tavern though, he chuckled and gave her a grin. "Good to know I have an accomplice then," he hummed lightly, really quite amused at the thought of Mari seeing a building on fire.

Mari hummed when he wrapped his arms around her, and gently went to sit up a little, her hands resting on his biceps lightly, her nails tracing gentle patterns. She nodded in agreement, though. Things had ended well. They were all lucky to have eachother, really lucky. They were lucky Sage was so good with the horses, and their art... lucky wasn't even the right word anymore. She sighed gently and pecked his lips. They weren't lucky, they'd worked hard. Sage had worked hard, and she loved him for it. They had everything they could ever want or need, right here. "It did work out well, hm? If we were super lucky Anya would knight you when she becomes queen," she chuckled lightly to him. She then grinned. "I've always been your accomplice. You just never ask me to accompany you," she mused.

Sage chuckled softly and wrinkled his nose. "I don't know if shipping me off to battle would be lucky," he noted with amusement. "I'm not even sure that my social class is eligible to be knighted anyway," he added with a shrug. Really, if Anya needed his help to plan bettle strategies or work with troops he'd be there. And while the thrill of the battle did tempt him a little bit.....he wasn't going to go run off to war with his family still here unless it was the only thing left to do to protect them. But him running off and getting hurt or killed wouldn't be very useful to any of them. Though, her next comment brought a chuckle to his lips. "Well then, next time you go to town to work you can scout out a nice wall to vandalize, yeah," he chirped lightly Edited at January 27, 2025 09:42 AM by NightClan

Mari rolled her eyes at him after a moment. "Hey, I won't complain that my husband is a knight. If it means we get to live in a fancy house and I get to be married to a famous dude," she chuckled to him. "Besides, you're half the reason the castle is still standing at all, after the attacks and all," she mused. She leaned in to peck his lips again, a grin across her face. "My super fancy war husband," she chuckled. She then hummed thoughtfully, giving him a pout. "I don't want to vandalise things, Sage. I want to commit arson with you, like a real couple," she complained in a very playful way.
