Sage had clearly drifted off again once he'd settled down, and stayed that way for maybe another hour or so before he shifted again, slowly waking up as he slipped into the half awake half asleep stage of rest. He'd nestled into Mari, tightening his fingers around her slightly with a huff of content air. He still wasn't really awake...but he was getting there. It wasn't unusual for him to take this long of course, nor was it unusual for Mari to be up long before him, but he did like waking up with her still relaxing there with him.

Mari eventually drifted back off, not willing to get up at all. Her hand stayed placed in his hair, while her other arm was still over her eyes. It was probably a nice day out... but she couldn't force herself awake fully. She started to wake up not long after Sage had, though, and let out a small groan of complaint when she felt him starting to move around. She held his head a little firmer, keeping him still before letting go again, her eyes sort of starting to open and adjusting to the light outside.

Sage felt a sort of smile form on his lips when Mari moved to hold his head still, amused in his sleepy sort of state that they were both still just happy to lay around for a while. He let out a sort of grunt, though stayed quiet after that, since neither of them obviously wanted to make a move to start actually getting up or anything like that.

Mari smiled to him after a moment when she heard his little grunt, a small chuckle escaping her as she started to wake up a little. She didn't want to go. They'd had a nice eventing last night, and she wanted the quiet of it all to last just a little bit longer. She sighed, and rolled over slightly, although still on her back. "Sage?" She asked quietly, trying to find out if he was awake or not.

Sage sort of flopped over when she rolled over to face him, though hadn't moved enough to move away from her at all. He heard her say his name, so he sort of grunted out an "mmph," in response. He definitely wasn't awake enough to form words though...but he did make an effort.

Mari chuckled gently at his little noise, and gently patted his back. She gently peeled away from him, wandering down stairs to quickly make up a small breakfast and a tea for him. She wandered back up stairs happily, gently placing it on the side table before going to perch on the side of the bed. Hopefully he was a bit more awake now. "Sageee," she hummed softly to him, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. She smiled lightly to him, and moved to gently run her fingers along the back of his neck. "I made you breakfast," she whispered quietly.

Sage sort of groaned when Mari moved to get up, though didn't do much besides flop into the spot her warmth still lingered and stay there, drifting in and out of sleep. By the time she'd come back up, he was awake enough to groan again and sort of lift his head to peer up at her when he heard her comment, checking groggily to see what she brought up. He definitely wasn't all the way awake...but it was enough to be able to figure out what she'd said and he supposed he was getting hungry. At least, not that he could see and smell breakfast.

Mari smiled lightly when he shifted, even if it was just a little bit. She leaned in to peck his cheek before going back to flop in bed, sipping at her own drink quietly. It was so quiet around the house. She knew that would change in a little while, probably when the kids woke up later, but for now it was so quiet, hopefully, it would be quiet for another little while, at least until maybe ten.

Sage eventually moved to roll over so he could half sit up and lean against the headboard of the bed with a yawn. He was hungry now that he smelled breakfast right next to him, so he moved to grab the plate and cup, sort of just slowly working at it for a while. Mari was there, her presence quiet next to him, and he couldn't help but just...enjoy the peace of it all. The comfortable quiet that was wrapped around them like a blanket. It was all just very nice.

Mari sat still, grabbing a book off the side as she finished her tea. She was excited... the woman at the tavern had told her to just drop in when she felt like it to work a few hours a day before they figured out what hours she wanted. She already had an idea of it all, at least until the kids needed to be picked up, but it would be good to feel the place out a little. She put the cup down after a little while, a small smile across her face as she settled down under the blanket.
