Sage chuckled softly when she mentioned scarring the children for life, and shook his head slightly in amusement. "You're so needy," he teased her lightly, casting an amused glance over his shoulder at her, from where hed moved to rest his chin on his forearms as she started on his back. Though, when she mentioned not being tired, he sort of huffed out a breath and shrugged. "But what if you were, and I asked for one," he groaned. He just...didn't want to bother her. Upset her, at all. Make her feel like she needed to do something for him when she might not want to.

Mari huffed out a breath to him when he said she as needy, and shook her head. "Really? I'm needy now?" She asked with a small chuckle. "Not your completely and utterly doting wife?" She asked with a bit of a laugh, her finger breifly tracing the contours of his beck before going back to his back rub. She raised a brow at him after a moment or two. "If you asked and I was too tired do do anything, I'd just say no," she laughed gently after a few moments. She then let out a soft breath. "You can't stress out about this sort of thing, Sage," she chuckled.

Sage chuckled softly in response to her comments, groaning when she pointed out she's just saying no if she didn't want to do it. "I know," he sort of grumbled, more annoyed with his brain than anything. It was vaguely amusing though....you'd think he would have gotten used to asking for that sort of thing by now, and he clearly hadn't. "My brain doesn't like me," he added with a sort of huff, though that was more amused than anything else.

Mari huffed out a breath, sort of putting her weight into a knot she'd found under his shoulder blade. Once it had released, she let out a slow breath before sor of just massaging his shoulders. She leaned forwards a little, pressing a light kiss to the back of his neck. "Well, I do like you, so don't worry," she laughed softly after a few moments, flashing him a gentle smile, not that he could see it.

Sage had moved back to just resting his head on his forearms after a bit, chuckling softly in response to her comment, a smile drifting on his face when he felt her peck him. "I know that too," he noted lightly, wrinkling his nose slightly when she managed to work at a knot. It did always feel nice, especially after a long day of workign with the horses. He did make up his mind to pay her back somehow though...they joked about various things, but in all reality she did a lot for him that she didn't need to do. He loved her for it, of course, and he wouldn't tell her no to doing any of it, but he did want to find something to do for her too. More than jsut agreeing to let her go work here and there.

Mari smiled when he said he knew that she liked him. It was strange, they were married, of course she liked him, but it was nice that he knew. There had been a time when he was so on edge about it all, not believing anything she said about him... now, though, he just accepted that what she said was the truth. That was a pretty big thing. She smiled after a moment at the thought of it all. She was so proud of him. She sort of ran her knuckles over his back as the area where the knot released started to spasm a little. It soon settled down once it had been massaged out, though. Soon enough, she was done, and by then was just tracing the scars on his back with her nails.

Sage had settled down into a peaceful quiet after a bit... It was nice, he thought, to just be able to rest comfortably together like this. He'd relaxed fairly quickly, especially once Mari had finished his back and was just doing... Whatever she was doing, he supposed. He'd started to drift off not long after that, body relaxing as his mind started to shut off for the night.

Mari smiled slightly when she felt him relax beneath her, and once she was sute he was asleep she flopped off to the side and curled into his side, since he was laying on his stomach. It was nice, just to relax a bit with him. She found they never got that too often. She soon drifted off to sleep happily, though. A quiet, peaceful sleep. She didn't start to stir until early the next morning, when the light started shining through the windows.

Sage slept pretty well, having fallen into a pretty deep sleep soon after he'd drifted off. He sort of shifted when Mari stirred beside him the next morning, though that was little more than just moving to the side to curl into her a bit more before settling down again. The sun was warm on his skin, but even so he didn't want to see it, so he wound up just burying his face into her chest like he normally did, quickly relaxing again after that.

Mari groaned when she felt him shift, but moved to wrap her arms around his head when he buried his face into her. She sort of rolled onto her back after a moment, then went to flop an arm over her eyes to keep the sun out. She didn't want to get up at all... well, she really didn't have to, not yet. It was still early, and she was comfortable. Sage looked pretty comfortable, too. The thought amused her slightly, though she soon woke up a little more as one of her hands started gently trailing up and down his back.
