Sage hummed softly when Mari reached for his shoulders, letting out a sort of sigh when she spoke up. "I know," he murmured, grunting slightly when she hit a nice spot with her hands and pausing for a moment as she kept talking. "Alright," he finally agreed, nodding reluctantly. He was still uneasy about it all, but he did trust her. "Just....when you get back tell me about it, yeah," he asked, wanting to at least hear about it from her. He still fully planned on stopping by himself and looking around, but whatever.

Mari gave a small smile when he grunted, and gently kneaded her fingers into the spot. When he agreed, she leaned in to press a light kiss to the soft skin behind his ear. Of course she'd tell him about it... there wasn't much she didn't tell him anymore, bad or good. She just liked talking to him, she supposed. Her hands ran up his neck, and towards his jaw before gently tilting his chin up, and pressed a light kiss to his lips. "Of course I'll tell you about it. You'll never hear the end of it from me, babe," she mused.

Sage felt a smile drift over his face when she kissed his neck, sort of tilting his head a bit since the way she was working away at his neck felt nice. He wasn't super tense or anything...but he had just come back from hauling hay around and stuff, so it did feel nice. He let her tilt his head up, and chuckled lightly, kissing her back as he peered up at her. "Alright," he mused, a soft smile forming on his face. He would always be a bit uneasy about it....it was stupid really, the circumstances were completely different and this was a much nicer tavern. But he would worry. He would deal with it, if she really wanted to work there...and he'd get used to it at some point. But there would always be that twinge of worry if she came home later than normal, or something small happened.

Mari smiled softly to him when he gave in. She really just wanted to do something on her own... it something went wrong, she'd have to deal with it when she came to it. Right now, she was just excited about it all. But she could look after herself... she'd been out here for years and it wasn't like she was completely helpless, or that she didn't know what people what people were capable of. Plus, she was working during the day until about two... it wasn't a long shift, and it didn't leave time for things to go too wrong. "And if something does go wrong, I'll let you deal with it," she mused gently to him, pecking the top of his head before patting his shoulder. "Go finish the horses off. I'm gonna go get the kids," she mused lightly.

Mari stopped by the tavern on the way, though... it was very cute. This would be roughly the time her shift ended, and it was pretty quiet... quiet was a good thing for sure. She went and spoke to the bartender at the time, and he pointed her in the direction of the owner. She happened to be a rather lovely older woman, who told her just to drop in for a shift or two to see how she got on.
Mari eventually went to pick up the kids though, a happy little smile across her face as she wandered home. She had them shower quickly and get changed before they ran off to do... whatever they wanted, really, while she got dinner on.

Sage chuckled softly and gave her a grin. "So does that mean you're willingly letting me do arson if they turn out to be a sleazy bunc of weirdos," he asked, only half joking. If they hurt her, he would have no issues burning the place to the ground. He nodded in response to her next comment though, moving to get up and peck her lips lightly before setting his plate in the sink and moving back out to the barn to finish up with some things there. He wandered back in around dinner time, greeting Mari happily and then moving to find the kids and say hi before leaving them alone to play and wandering back into the kitchen.

Mari smiled when Sage wandered in, a small chuckle escaping her. "Now that you've had a few hours to think... is arson really the best idea?" She teased him from where she was stood near a frying pan, some steaks sizzling and some chips in the oven. She was excited about it all, though... she did like the idea of getting back to work. She could just drop in whenever for the time being, until she was happy enough to settle down in some firmer hours. The place was nice, and they all seemed pretty well put together.

Sage couldn't help but chuckle in response to Maris comments, sort of just hopping onto the counter next to her. "Arson is always a valid idea," he noted with a grin, though he did cock his head in curiosity after a moment. "How'd you like it there," he asked. He did want to know...and if she seemed to really like it, then it couldn't be all that bad.

Mari rolled her eyes, flipping the steaks over happily. "You? Arson?" She asked lightly. "That's not your style. I can see you egging the place though," she teased as she moved to pull the chips out the oven and get some plates out for them. She hummed as though in thought, though, and tapped his head to move out the way for some cabinets and pulled some cups out for them. She soon pulled the steaks off the pan and popped them on the plates. "It was nice," she hummed happily to him. "The woman that runs the place is nice. It seemed pretty quiet," she murmured lightly. "I'll only be working during the day, so it'll only be busy during lunches and things," she then added.

Sage hummed softly in response to her first comment, shrugging his shoulders. "Why not both," he noted, voice twinged with amusement. He ducked out of the way when she moved to tap his head, nodding along as she spoke. "Hopefully it works out, then," he mused, sliding off the counter to help set the table and such. "It sounds nice," he admitted. It did sound like it would be a nice place. "Maybe they should hire you as a cook," he added with a chuckle. She was friendly and would make a good waitress, but she also cooked....really well.

Mari chuckled at him after a moment and shook her head. "Arson is too classy for you darling," she teased him, rolling her eyes softly. She then hummed slightly to him at his next comment. She did hope it worked out... she was clearly excited about the whole thing. She hummed gently after a moment or two. "As a cook? I don't think so," she mused happily. She had thought about it, but the hours would be longer and she wouldn't enjoy it as much. Probably. She was soon finished with their dinner, and called the kids down before looking over to their father. "Come in. Dinner time," she mused happily.
