Mari flashed him a smile when he came back downstairs. The children were sat on the couch, waiting excitedly to go out. She didn't think they'd really taken them out to dinner before. She had them put their jackets on and gave them a little lecture on behaving themselves before wandering out the door. It wasn't long until they were in town, Silas wandering a little ahead of them and Lizzy holding her hand. They found a little spot soon enough, a light smile crossing her face as they all plopped down in the corner.

Sage gave the kids a grin, nodding with a chuckle when Silas eagerly asked if they could go now. As the boy sped off, he called a word of caution up to him. He was ok with him running a bit ahead....but he didn't want him too far away, especially since he'd been taken from him before. Soon enough though, he'd sat down in a corner table with the family, helping Silas decide what he wanted to eat while Mari helped Liz.

Mari made herself comfortable quickly, and picked her meal before helping Liz decide. The girl was incredibly indecisive, which really amused Mari more than anything. They normally just ate whatever they were given, so it didn't really matter what she picked... though they eventually settled for a cheese Ravioli. The girl loved pasta, and it was probably something she'd rather enjoy. She looked to Sage happily once they were all sorted, and raised a brow happily. "All good?" She asked happily. When the waiter came over, she had the kids ask for their meals before her and Sage ordered. The woman really just looked so happy to have the kids out with them... and Silas and Liz seemed just as happy.

Sage was glad to help Silas pick out his food...though the boy just wanted to eat everything on the menu, which wasn't really a choice. And if it was, they probably couldnt afford it. But since it wasn't a choice, he had to pick something. Sage finally got him to decide on a sort of steak, and promised to share some of his own food with him if he got a bite of the steak. At Maris comment he nodded with a chirp, helping Silas tell the waitress what he wanted after Mari got Liz to order, then waited for Mari to order and finally he ordered. He thanked the waiter once the food was out, digging in happily, enjoying his night. "Maybe we should do this once a week or something," he suggested to Mari. "We have the money, and it would be nice to do something as a family more often," he added with a shrug.

Mari looked over at him when he spoke up, though she had to finish a mouth full of food she was clearly enjoying. She nodded, though, swallowing before looking over at the kids. "What do you think? Wanna go out more?" Both of the children agreed a bit too loudly, but all it really did was make her chuckle. "I think that'd be nice. Just getting out a bit," she hummed happily. It would be, too... she got stuck in the house a bit too often, and while she was fully planning on going back to work, it would be nice for them to have a bit of time together as a family. It wasn't something they'd do much. They were all pretty close, but they never went out of their way to spend time together... not like this, anyway, and it was rather nice.

Sage gave the rest of the family a grin and a nod when they all agreed to going out and doing this sort of thing more often. There was plenty to do around town...it didn't just have to be restaurants, they could just go do anything. As long as it was as a family, it didn't matter he didn't think. "Sounds like a plan then," he chirped lightly, moving to take another bite of his own food. "Sounds like your mom and I have some planning to do," he added lightly. It wouldn't be much...just deciding where to go each week. But that was ok. They would have fun no matter where they went, he thought.

Mari smiled lightly to him, happy at the prospect of getting out a bit more. It was crazy to think that years ago, one of them might not have been there... she loved Sage and their family, and the truth of it was that she had grown rather used to the comfort of them all. Sometimes she still found to weird that yes, she was married, yes, they had their own home and yes they had two of the most wonderful children they could have asked for. Hell, there had been a point where she didn't even think Sage would survive, let alone this long to build this sort of life. She caugh herself staring at him as she thought about it, then to little Silas next to him. The boy was spitting image, and Liz looked just like him too. They were all perfect. A grin spread across her face as they finished, and she moved to wipe Lizzies face before sitting up. "Are we all done?" She asked happily.

Sage had continued to chat with the kids a bit, glancing over at Mari as she spoke up, nodding with a small grin. "Yup. You ready bud," he hummed over to Silas, who agreed enthusiastically. He shooed the boy out of the bench then, so he could slide out and then grab liz so she and Mari could get up as well. "Home it is then," he chirped, letting Silas and Liz each take a hand and walk along next to him. It was getting dark by then, but that was alright...it wasn't a long walk, and everyone still had enough energy to hop along.

Mari grinned and watched Sage walk the kids out, a few paces behind as she watched the three of them hand in hand. God they were perfect. Her heart swelled up at the thought of it all, and the grin across her face was just so stupid. She loved them, all of them. She knew it already, but it really wasn't often when she saw them all out doing things together, not like this anyway... Liz was s homebody, and Silas had crazy energy and of course Sage had to work quite a bit... so short moments, when they all were together like this just seemed so perfect. It wasn't long until they were home, and she told the kids to get showered and to bed since it was sort of late for them before she settled down on the couch with a huge grin across her face.
