Kai nodded again, not saying a word as his mind spiraled. He followed Lorelei to the dining room, pulling out her chair for her and pushing it in as well. He pecked her head and settled beside her

Lorelei smiled at him, squeezing his hand underneath the table to reassured him silently. Loreleis father was staring at them from the other side of the table, studying them.

Kai kept his face calm, even if his mind was racing. "Good morning, Mr.Bonetti" Kai said

"Goodmorning, Father," Lorelei said softly. "Goodmorning," the old man grumbled. He was always grouchy in the morning.

Kai was silent, slightly awkward

Lorelei squeezed his hand, giving him an 'it's okay,' look and then returned to her food.

Kai glanced at her and ate his food. Once he was finished, he looked to Lorelei for what they would do next

Lorelei was still eating when he finished.

Kai waited

Lorelei finished eating, then looked up at him. They just had to wait until they were dismissed.
