The hubby is at least 1/4 German, his grandma and grandpa moved from Germany I believe after WW2. He was more or less forced to be a machinist for the Nazi party. Then I believe his machine shop once in the US was involved in machining parts for the Apollo mission. Then I'm heavily Polish and Irish on my mom's side, Welsh and French on my dad's.

Nah my family is pretty big on the secrets thing. Apparently my sister knew… elaborated that he was racing another guy and ended up running him off a cliff. But also finding all the incest has been a wild ride. Mostly from the 1600s, as a handful of them were born in before or within 10 years of the mayflower landing. Probably didn’t have many options 😬🫠

And being the tea lover I am, it has been fun seeing all the newspaper clippings related to individuals in my family. For instance, I didn’t know my grandpa went to prison at 18 for vehicular manslaughter. That was an interesting find.

I got mine because my paternity was a mystery and my material line was always fighting about if we were Native American or Scottish. (Look native but have a Scottish last name) plus I fine lineages fascinating to the point that tracing equine bloodlines is a hobby

Min, maybe that's because everyone in the US is really from someplace else.. Except the Natives that is.
All Breeds
Min, I think it has to do with wanting to connect with our heritage and roots culturally. In US it's big melting pot so traditions and such get lost over time so I'd be nice to see them again

I've never gotten the hype of the DNA ancestry thing personally. It is sort of a thing over here but nothing like as popular as it seems to be in the US
All Breeds
I honestly think you'd really like it. He's always wanted to know what his ancestry looks like and kind of feels left out that he doesn't know
All Breeds
He most likely also has Irish/Scottish as his maternal grandmother has red hair and he has a tiny bit in his beard
All Breeds
Ah. I'm tempted to do a DNA test for myself and my husband. He unfortunately doesn't know a whole lot about his ancestry. About the only thing we know is that his grandmother was 100% Filipino but nothing outside of that
