Quinn wrapped an arm around Sage and just sat there, calming her brain... which was running in circles frantically. One half was angry at Sage and the other felt bad, and they were playing a wrestling game with each other. Quinn closed her eyes for a moment and let out a slow breath of air, sounding annoyed, sad, and pleased... at the same time. It was a difficult thing to do. She just wanted to help Sage, but he would have to let her

Sage stayed like that for a while, calming himself down enough that he could think straight. But by then her smell got almost overwhelming again, so he sighed and pulled back, giving the girl an apologetic look. "Sorry," he muttered, going back to picking at the grass. His arm stung where he'd scratched it, and his nose twitched whenever he smelled the girl. Man, his brain needed to shut up with that. But....at least Quinn wanted that sort of thing too....so maybe this time, they could actually start something. Maybe it would calm down after a night like that. He just didn't know.

As Sage pulled away, Quinn just shook her head. "Don't be." She answered quietly, bringing her knees up to stare at the stream. She wished one person on Earth thought like her... or understood her way of thinking... or, if she couldn't have that, she wished that Sage could just listen to her. Quinn would do anything she could to drill into his head that she loved him, she didn't care what he did, and she didn't care what he looked like. Quinn had seen way too many people marry because the *guy* was the most handsome one, and she hated it. The next year she saw that family again, and they were depressed, devastated, and they both hated each other. Quinn didn't want her relationship with Sage to be like that. She was scared it would turn out like that.

Sage felt his gaze flicker over to the girl and then back to the ground in front of him, though he did make the move to lean over slightly, so their sides were pressed together and he could rest his head on her shoulder. He'd mostly calmed down by then...he was still rather annoyed with himself for freaking out like that over something that really wasn't of much importance, but his erratic heart beat had calmed down, and his mind was mostly clear. "Did you mean what you said," he asked quietly. "About feeling the same way?" He was rather curious, he supposed....and wolves wanted pups, it was just how things worked. He wanted a baby...it was a sudden thought, but all of a sudden he really wanted something to raise up and care for, and teach, and keep safe from the world. But was that what Quinn wanted too? It could be dangerous...if something went wrong he couldn't help much.

Quinn was rather pleased when Sage leaned on her, mostly because that meant he wasn't beating himself up too much. She kept watching the stream, kind of lost in though. Did Sage mean what he said? Did he actually care about her in that way? Was this all some big joke? Was she trying for nothing? Quinn blinked and came back to the present as Sage spoke. She glanced at him, listening to what he said. "Yes, I meant it. Really." Quinn answered. A bunch of different things ran through her mind to say... but she decided to go with the no joke one. -I could have said *Well I'm not a lier* but that would be mean, I could have joked around... did I say the wrong thing? Is he going to get frustrated again?- Quinn thought with worry, her brow creasing slightly.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded in response to the girl's comment. She was no liar...and he could tell she meant what he said. "You'd really be alright with that sort of relationship," he asked, still with a rather surprised tone of voice. She'd been forced into this, after all. But if she was alright with it....well, then that only made him want it even more. "I've always wanted a kid," he murmured. "Wolves are pack animals....they all take care of the pups, and the males are supposed to grow the pack," he explained, a blush forming again. "It's just instinct," he sighed. "But I get it if you think it wouldn't be smart or....whatever," he finished lamely.

"Yes, I really would. As I've said before." Quinn smiled slightly, wondering how she could get the message through Sage's seemingly thick head. She knew he was very smart... he just was neglected and she was trying to fix that. It was definetely what people would call a long, hard process. "I can understand that... but I have one big problem." Quinn said with a very loud sigh. "I don't know if I can handle another Sage running around." She laughed, obviously joking. "Sage, I would love a kid. Even if it does act like you." Quinn teased, smiling.

Sage nodded slowly at the girl's comments, and couldn't help but chuckle at her joke about not being able to put up with another one of him. "I'm not sure I could put up with one of me either," he chuckled lightly, shaking his head in amusement. He glanced over at the girl happily, obviously in a better mood now that he'd figured out his emotions and all the rest a bit. "Once I can do stuff without killing my gut, maybe we can make that happen," he hummed in an amused tone of voice. If he wasn't hurt, he certainly wouldn't mind doing it right then and there....but that was a bit much. And...he was hurt.

Quinn grinned at what Sage said, her eyes twinkling as she accomplished he goal. He definetely seemed happier. "Yes, I agree that letting your wound heal would be the best path to take." Quinn chriped, looking rather pleased. She turned to watch the river again, thinking. Well her big question was solved... Sage did care about her in that way. Plus she had calmed him back down and thankfully got him to stop ripping out his own skin. Win win!

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded in response to the girl. Well, he supposed that whole thing had gone quite well. His arm stung a bit, but the girl had stopped him before it got too bad, and hey, he'd figured he'd put a bit more. And knowing they could try for children eventually did, admittedly, make it easier to smell her and know they'd get there. Now he could just sit that and rest his head on her shoulder happily, without getting too excited or nervous or whatever else he was feeling.
