Sage couldn't help but snicker when the candy cane bounced off of Luther's face. For being described as firey and a warrior, he was pretty slow. Though, he was bulky, with rounder features compared to Sage's slim build and sharp features. He looked intimidating still, but it was mostly the way he looked at people and his loud voice that made him like that, not his body. He cocked his head slightly and stared at Luther for a moment, sizing him up. After a moment or two, he realized he really posed no threat to him, and waved with a crooked grin. "I'd be the one who kinda sorta stole your room." He scrunched his face up thoughtfully. "I'm staying for a while I guess. Anya dragged me back here after being locked up in a closet together for four weeks." His tone was light though, since he wasn't upset about coming to the castle...quiet the opposite in fact. He knew the guy didn't have any reason at all to like him, or even let him continue to stay in his room. But if he didn't like him, sage could deal with it. Plus, Anya would make the two of them behave.

Anya raised her brows in a mockingly surprised way at Sage, "I did not drag you! I had you carried," she murmured with a slight chuckle before turning to Luther. "I've carried him about a few times now." She snickered lightly. The man cocked his head with a small smile. "Ah, so the guy who kinda sorta stole my room has been carried around by our little princess, and he still deserves the best guest room in the house?" He chucked lightly, giving a mocking glare to Sage. Anya watched for a small moment, a grin plastered on her face. She was kind of glad that he started making jokes at Sage rather than just getting angry... it was one of those things that have could have gotten either reaction. When she thought about it, while they looked like polar opposites, they most likely would end up getting on due to how fiery they could both be. That or it would start fine then crash and burn. Luther, he looked very much like you'd imagine from his personality. Bulkier, slightly more muscled build, tall, standing at about 6' with dirty blonde, almost brown hair and dark green eyes. If you were to read a picture book about some prince, you'd probably find him in it. The girl glanced to Sage, waiting for his reaction to the guy... hoping that it would all start off fine and they could have at least one good day.

Sage snorted at Anya's comments, amused by them and raised an eyebrow at Luther. "And the big, tough guy who I've heard so much about just got caught unawares and hit whacked in the forehead with a piece of candy," he retorted. "I woke up in a room. Someone had me put there for whatever reason," he chuckled, sending a mock glare at Anya when he said someone. So far, things seemed to be alright with Luther....he wasn't sure what Anya had been so worried about. "I quite honestly would have just dragged myself back to the slums and died somewhere but for some reason Anya didn't like that option." It was mostly a joke ...he knew full well why Anya hadn't wanted him to go die out there in some miserable fashion. But, man, would Luther be shocked and probably jealous to find out what they did in the cave...he'd seemed that way a bit when he found out Anya had carried sage around. It was an amusing thought, sage couldn't deny that.

Anya pouted in response to Sage before shaking her head. "I'm sorry I didn't want the guy I was fighting for my life with for four weeks to go get himself killed." She rolled her eyes, "You went in there with me and you were coming out with me. I promised you that the day we went in." She chuckled softly, almost in a reminding manner. She glanced at Luther, nodding in agreement to Sage. "He's right you know. Would have expected the future king to have at least be able to catch a bit of candy." She noted with a laugh. "Sage managed to catch his." She purred mockingly. Luther wrinkled his nose at the two of them and kind of stuck out his tongue half hardly. "I was trying to get everything sorted before later. I have tones of peace offerings for you, Anya and I was hoping to get them all on the table before you all woke up." He almost complained. Luther had come over for Christmas for the last nine years... so he kind of knew how it went by now. "So I'm sorry I couldn't react to your little ambush." He noted, crossing his arms in a jokingly childish manner before shouting something back to the carriage drivers, probably to head off towards the stables and get all the horses cooled off.

Sage grinned at Luther and shrugged. "I suppose I wooed her with my horrible health and claustrophobia," he joked, knowing that the joke wouldn't mean anything to Luther other than simply that....a joke. Besides, she'd loved him before that so it was just as much of a joke to him and Anya as it was to the prince. And he had to admit it was pretty funny. He chuckled slightly at their small banter. "If you know Anya at all, you'd have figured out by now that she doesn't sleep in on Christmas," he pointed out in a light tone to Luther. "I've been here much less than you and I've already figured that one out," he chuckled. Then he winked. "Just get her back later," he cackled, giving Anya an innocent look afterward. Ok, so maybe he was kind of a bad influence....but it was fun to...well...have fun. And the royals were sometimes so stiff....it would do them good to have fun and prank someone every now and then. "It's pretty easy to sneak up behind her," he hunted in a jokingly evil fashion, eyes glittering with unspoken amusement.

The girl frowned at Sage, lightly punching his arm... making sure to steer clear of his bullet wound. "Don't tell him that!" She scolded brightly. "I swear Sage if you give him any ideas we won't be friends anymore." She complained with a pout before glaring at Luther. "And If you dare sneak up on me we won't be friends either." It was nice that the two were getting along... especially considering she had expected the very worst from them. Even if their joking was edging towards the banter side. Luther looked at Sage with a light chuckle. "I've known the girl for years. I figured it out pretty quickly that she doesn't sleep for long. The first Christmas I was here... we were eight, I think. She was so excited, ran in, and jumped on my bed until I woke up." He cast a glare at the girl. "Nearly broke my leg she did. I had a limp for the rest of the week." He grumbled, his face gone cold towards her. Anya blabbered at him in a jokingly defensive tone. "I was excited to have a friend for once! You ruined that for me by yelling at me to get out." She replied with a chuckle. Edited at September 13, 2022 08:55 AM by Belle

Sage snickered when Anya punched him, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "Aww, but it's so fun to make you squirm," he purred in a teasing manner, giving her a wide grin. He gave Luther an amused look when he mentioned Anya's childhood behavior. "Jumping on the bed," he gasped putting hand to his heart in mock shock. "Princess, I thought you were supposed to be elegant," he cackled. He was enjoying teasing Anya. He grinned over at Luther. "Maybe it's a good thing I got shot ...she couldn't come bounce around this morning." Luther, admittedly, was a decent guy...the only one besides Anya to treat him nicely. He didn't need the guy to treat him as an equal, per say...they weren't....but as long as he was nice they would get along just fine. And he was totally planning on sneaking up on Anya, or causing some other form of trouble with Luther. He hoped he could sneak around...he was pretty large, so moving quietly could be an issue.

Luther cackled in an almost dry manner. "She's done the same thing for the last nine years. And every year I yell at her for it, that's why I didn't stay last night... It's nice to actually rest on Christmas morning. It's actually a little surprising that she didn't come and jump on you, despite any injuries." He murmured looking almost thoughtful. He then cocked his head. "How'd you get shot?" He asked in a curious tone. Anya rolled her eyes slightly at that question before jumping in. "We were being chased. Once we got somewhere in the open where we could see who was coming, this asshole thought it'd be fun to run right at them and play a fun game of hiding and seek with them, didn't you Sage?" She grumbled. She still thought that was amusing... that he actually thought it'd be a good idea to run right at them. Of course, while he was bleeding out in her arms that night and in the cell, she didn't find it quite so amusing.

Sage grinned sheepishly. "I didn't expect them to have a working gun," he pointed out. "This is the slums we're talking about.... normally we just stab eachother and try not to die." He shrugged. "Ig someones chasing me I'm going to attack them before they attack me." He made a face and snorted slightly. "And I stitched myself up just fine so it didn't matter," he grumbled, though he wasn't upset at either of the teens next to him. "It only opened up again because I pissed off whoever kidnapped us so I got myself punched." He chuckled slightly. "I really made them mad though so it was totally worth it." He grinned over at Luther. "Oh, she came bouncing in and thew herself in the bed. I was sitting up so my legs were safe," he chuckled, hinting at Luther's limp all those years ago.

Anya shook her head with a soft chuckle. "You only managed to stitch yourself up because of my cloak." She snorted in responce, gently jabbing him in the side in a teasing manner. "It was a dumb thing to do Sage," she told him gently. She then raised a brow at his little statement. "And you didn't get it even half as bad as Luther did.." She purred lightly, giving the boy a playful wink. Luther looked even more confused now but just grinned at the two of them. "God, Anya, where did you even find this boy?" He asked with a small laugh, "last time I checked, you were getting ready to be my queen, not running around with some random guy off the streets or getting chased and especially not getting kidnapped." He noted in a thoughtful voice. He wasn't going to pretend that he didn't know she'd escape at night... he'd known that for years, but it seemed like Anya wasn't being quite so careful with herself anymore, which was of concern to him. Anya gave a light grin, "at the tavern! I'm still not quite sure why I thought it'd be a good idea to go in there." She murmured lightly. They could probably start heading in now, and maybe there'd be something good to snack on while they were waiting for everyone else... they wouldn't be too long either.
