The math meeting finished at 12:03, and Iris was given a few confused looks at her late arrival, but other than that nothing out of the ordinary. She finished the work for Monday's class and helped a few other struggling students with theirs. It reminded her of tutoring Caden, which distracted her from her work. The student had to tap her arm to bring her back to the present. Iris swore to never think about him during studying again, because she lost herself in her thoughts. . After she'd said goodbye to the other members, she headed up to her room for lunch. Iris checked her phone-- no messages from Caden. She shouldn't have gotten her hopes up, but too late now. 'Gah, just stop thinking about him!' she told herself, gritting her teeth. But she knew it was going to be harder than it sounded.

Caden drifted off, slipping into dreams laced with her face. It slipped into a nightmare, her getting dragged away while he couldn't run after her. He woke with a jolt, fist tight around the sheets. He sat up, running his hands over his face and through his hair before eventually sighing and staring off at the view outside his window.

Iris was trying to find ways to keep herself distracted from Caden. She showered, walked around campus, and even read more of that book from before. But nothing worked. In the shower, she dropped the soap and didn't notice until she'd stepped on it and slipped. During the walk around campus, she kept getting lost. Reading her book, she had to read a page three times before the words sunk in. Eventually Iris gave up and lie on her bed, staring up at the ceiling and letting her mind wander.

Caden decided to get a uber over to his house, walking into the large framed building and realizing--it was too quiet. He grabbed his AirPods, slipping them in and putting on some random playlist. The man went and slipped into a coat, making sure he'd stay warm as he grabbed his Kawasaki keys and sped out onto the old road.

(Hm... Any plot ideas?) . Iris lie there for a long time, just looking up at the ceiling and thinking. After about an hour and a half, the silence was taking its toll on her. She was about to start playing some music when her roommate came in and started fussing with her makeup, making more racket then Iris wanted. She sighed and headed out to take her laundry basket down to the laundry room.

maybe he gets back and it slps out during one of their sessions and she admits to it too and suddenly they just connect like that??))) Caden had booked a flight back to America two weeks early, packing his bags and coming back early.

(Yeah that's good! Or maybe there's like a school dance or party or something? I'm trying to think of something unique but my brain just ain't braining...) . Iris put the clothes and towels in the washing machine and set it, then made her way back upstairs. Her roommate was still there and she sighed to herself, grabbing her purse and just walking around town. She found herself near the bookstore she'd been at before and remembered the book she'd gotten for Caden, probably now sitting on her desk. She walked and thought, and soon found herself on the far side of town. She'd walked for half an hour, just following where her legs took her. 'If I keep doing this, one of these times I'm going to actually get lost and not be able to find my way back,' she thought with a dry laugh.

Caden swapped the Kawasaki for a plane, and the plane for his c8 Corvette. He drove through town, slowing on non-busy streets and eyeing everything.

Iris made herself focus on the walk back so she wouldn't get hit by a car, and made it back to campus in fourty-five minutes. She knew her roommate would still be there, fussing over her hair and clothes, so Iris decided to go home for a little while. She got in her car and started it up.

Caden went back to his dorm, glad he got one of the rooms he didn't have to share with anybody. He set his bags down and flopped down on his bed, the jet lag catching up with him as he slowly.....slowly....drifted off.
