Sage shrugged when she mentioned the king. "Not really," he admitted. "Besides, you technically hired me, not him. So I'm supposed to only listen to you," he added with a mischievous grin. "He can't punish me for following the rules, not can he," he snickered. Then he grunted. "She's safe, at the boarding school. I used to travel a lot.... Each job took me around the area in different places and such. It's expensive and they suck, but they do take care of her," he sighed.

Elara chuckled lightly at his response about her father, quieting when he spoke about Liz(i think lol). "Yeah, atleast they take care of her."

Sage hummed softly and nodded. "They do a good job of it. And school wise, it's really the only option," he added with a shrug. "I certainly couldn't teach her anything. I never even really learned to read or do math or anything like that," he admitted with a sheepish wrinkle to his nose

"I could've learned, never would've used it however." She admitted, shifting her gaze to a large wolf coming out of the underbrush calmly.

|
Sage chuckled softly and nodded, cocking his head as the wolf emerged. He wasn't being aggressive...just wandering around. So he let him be, just watching him with a gleam in his eyes. It was always nice to see something like that.

"Oh yeah, that's Varys. He doesn't even act like a wolf,he's more like a dog, less wild." She explains, pointing a finger at the wolf now trotting up to her. "Hey bud," Elara greets, scratching him behind the ears.

Sage felt his eyebrows shoot up as she mentioned the wolf, and he couldn't help but grin down at him, extending his hand for the animal to sniff before stroking him lightly. "I'll be damned," he mused. "He's great," he added with a small chuckle. "I always liked the thought of having a dog or horse or something ...but we never could afford it as a kid. Well, ever I guess. Living on the streets tends to make those decisions for you," he noted softly, hinting a bit about his life. He figured he could trust her.

Living out on the streets is hard, living as a royal is harder." She explains, play fighting with Varys.

|
Sage shrugged. "At least you get food. You're warm and dry. Safe," he noted softly. He wasn't one to say 'oh, I had a worse time than you', but please. She argued with her family and was cooped up, sure, but she wasn't fighting for her life 24/7, or going hungry, or anything like that.

"Yeah, and?I have to inform guards everytime I want to even take a step!I've got to ask permission to go eat,go to bed, talk to people, meet other people. And at times I don't even go for food or anything, sometimes I just act like my room is the only thing I know, everything else is like a living hell." She explains, looking down.
