Caden Ortiz// Caden saw a flash of what looked like chesnut out of the corner of his eye and heard some stick snap. "Shh,I think he's here." Caden hopped off and grabbed his rope.He crept through the bushes looking for the stallion.The stallion appered infront of the bushes.Caden had enough room to swing his rope before looping it around the horses neck and digging his boots into the ground as Ricochet spooked. "Shh,easy.Your ok." He walked forward and put his hand on the saddlebreds muzzle before eventually stroking his face and urging the stallion back to where Rosa and Seven were. "Got him." He said in victory.Caden tied the rope around his saddle and grabbed his reins. "Are you ready to head back or no?" Caden asked Rosa. |

Rosa spots something in the distance, "one moment. You guys can head back first" she tells him. "I'll be okay" she adds in reassurance. She then urges Seven on, towards the movement. |

Caden Ortiz// "Ok,as long as your fine out here by yourself." Caden urges his horse forward and pulls on Ricochet's rope.They walk for some minutes until they reach the barn where he untacks the trail horse he borrowed and calls up the vet.He schedules both Ricochet and Seven for 4 days from then.Caden then pulls out his iPhone and texts Rosa. HEY,GOT SEVEN AND RICOCHET PUT ON THE VET SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY.ARE YOU ALL GOOD OUT THERE? He presses send before shoving the phone back in his pocket and untacking Ricochet before putting him in a private pasture. |

Rosa gets close enough to see a mare and her foal. The mare was trapped in a bear traps her leg bleeding. She moved carefully, hoping the mare would allow her to free her. Rosa quickly released the trap, freeing the mare. She moved slow as not to spook her. Rosa tore a piece off the arm of her shirt and wrapped it around the injury. She then lifted a hand slowly till she reached the mare's nose. She stroked it gently. "It's okay, you're free now" she says allowing the mare to go. She then mounted back onto Seven, turning around and starting to head back to the stables now that she freed the mare and foal. They were likely wild horses, and thus should remain free. When she looked back one more time she noticed they were following. |

Caden Ortiz// Caden grabs the wheelbarrow and pitchfork before heading to Ricochet's stall and mucking out.He then pushes the manure to the pile before replacing the studs salt lick and water.He puts on some music as he cleans his tack and boots and puts new grip on his rope. ......Ortiz....Copy?.. "Available,Copy." .....Mare and Foal......trailing Seven.....wild mare has a cut on her..... "A cut where?" ....Her leg.. "Alright this by tower 32?Over." .....Yes.... -Ugh,I really don't want to get on that dirtbike- Caden grabbed a helmet,rope,equine first aid kit,and tranqualizer.He turned on the dirtbike before revving off to Rosa,again.Caden spotted the mare and foal following Rosa. "Rosa,I need you to keep walking but slow down ok?" The ranger said into his radio.He got his blowdart ready before shooting it into the mares dock,the mare soon plopped down.Her foal circling.When the foal was'nt looking,Caden grabbed it and picked it up. "Got the mare down,I have the foal.Over." ......The vet's.......ready.... "Good,I'll bring them both sooner or later." Caden squatted down and immediatly started paying attention and shoving gauze into the wound on the mare's leg.He had the foal hog tied for now.It was protacol per ranger instrutcions.His mind immeidtaly went to the book he had to learn when he joined. -Rule 56,if you ever are doing first aid on a foals mother out in the woods,hogtie the foal and attach the excess rope to your saddle.- |

Rosa nodded, slowing Seven down. She looked back, unsure of what to do after the mare was tranquilized. "Uh, Caden? Some guidance please? What should I do? Is there anything I can help with?" She asks. |

Caden Ortiz// "Uh...not really except for calling Brock.He can get some people who can get this mare to a stall." At this point,Caden had wrapped the mares leg and had tagged the foal so it would never be taken from the wild as it was now protected by the state.He loosened the foals hog tie buy just a bit so it had a tiny bit more freedom. |

Rosa nods, "got it" and takes out her phone, dialing Brock and telling him. |

Caden Ortiz// The mare started to stirr.Caden went to the seat compartment in his bike and relized there were no tranqualizers left.His eyes went wide and his face went pale. "R-Rosa,I-I need y-you to get out of here n-now.This mare's going to wake up and I have no darts left.Go,please." Caden pleaded.The mare was half up now when she saw Caden untieing her foal,her ears went back and she snorted while standing up.Caden and the mare made straight eye-contact as he got up from her foal and backed up slowly,the mare standing still. |
