Sage hummed softly and shrugged. "Well, I couldn't say no to you no matter how hard I tried at first," he mused lightly, a smile playing out over his face. He chuckled softly at her huff, humming when she noted it was better. He was amused by the whole thing, but could care less if his shirt was on or off if he was totally honest. "So am I just supposed to sit here and look pretty or are you wanting something you haven't mentioned yet," he mused after a moment, really just teasing her a bit. Of course, if she was in the mood for anything specific, he'd do his best to deliver....but it was all mostly just fun.

The woman wrinkled her nose at him when he said he couldn't have said no. "Wel, you sure as hell tried to. I nearly said no at the start. If it wasn't for the doctor guilt tripping me, who knows where we'd be," she mused, sort of shaking her head at the thought of it all. The old man meant well... and she really didn't have a choice but to be nice to him, considering he was the doctors ward. But she was glad that she had been accommodating. She was glad she'd taken the time to get to know him, rather than just brushing it all off... she was glad he'd opened up to her and helped her understand why he struggled as much as he did sometimes. She'd said she'd help him get better, and... well, she was still here, and he was undoubtedly better than he was back then. She scanned him over before shrugging. "I just wanted you to lay there and look pretty for a bit," she mused, gently patting his chest. "But maybe you're waiting for something else," the woman teased before going to press a light kiss to his jaw. She was really just messing around, most of it was just in fun, but a lot of it was also quite true. He knew what she thought about him, so she could really just mess around as much as she needed.

Sage hummed softly and nodded, thinking back to the way he really had just been mean to the girl when he'd first met her. "I tried as hard as possible," he mused. "I couldn't stay mean to you though, not when you were as perky as you were," he added with a sort of snicker.

When she mentioned just laying there and looking pretty, just just hummed lightly in amusement. He did still find it odd that she found him good looking, though he'd stopped arguing with her a while ago about it. Accepted it, in a way. Though, at her next comment, he sort of threw her an amused look. "Mari, are you drunk," he sort of teased her, moving to press a light kiss to her lips. He knew she was probably fine....but it was fun to tease.

Mari gave a small huff to him after a moment before rolling her eyes again with a bit of a laugh. "You were really quite horrible to me," she mused gently to him. "You're lucky I'm a happy person, most of the time," she laughed before huffing out a bit of a breath. "I'm lucky you gave the act up pretty quickly for me too," she grinned. It had all been a bit of a worlwind to be honest... once they'd gotten comfortable together, they sort of just clicked. She understood him better than she had understood most people. She felt like he understood her too... it was nice. They could just... relax together, she supposed.
She huffed out an exasperated breath when he asked if she was drunk. She shook her head when he pecked her lips, and sort of moved to rest lightly on his chest with a grin. "Not that drunk," she mused, obviously just messing around. They had been out that evening... but they hadn't had a lot to drink. She ran her fingers down his chest again, a silly grin spreading across her face. "But you are incredibly easy to look at," she giggled before sort of going to peck his lips again, a happy little hum escaping her.

Sage had agreed with her comments, bobbing his head up and down in agreement to them all. He was lucky they'd wound up getting to know each other ....he wouldn't be here now without her, that was for sure. His life would be much fuller without her and the kids.

Though, her comment about not being that drunk pulled a laugh from him, and he kissed her back lightly with a soft hum. "Well, I suppose if you convinced me you would be able to see more," he mused, still mostly messing around but their conversation and actions was edging towards more than just teasing.

Mari watched his head bob up and down in agreement, and she could just smile. She said it all the time, and she meant it when she said she was lucky. To have this house, the kids, and Sage... it had been so out of reach for so long, but they had it. Hell, it has been nearly a decade and she still couldn't get over it at all. She'd get bored from time to time, but never ungrateful for him... this life they'd managed to pull up together. And to think there had been a time when she thought she might lose it. When she was always walking on egg shells, tip toeing in fear that she'd say or do something to make it all fall apart... but that hadn't happened. Even when things did get a bit tough, she was next to Sage. She knew he'd be right there with her if she needed him, too.

She hummed into his lips when he kissed her back, really just savouring her time with him. She let out a heavy breath at his comment before raising a brow at him, her smile turning into a bit of a smirk. "Convince you?" She asked taking a glance along his body, sort of pouting in thought. She certainly wasn't above convincing him to show her more, as he put it. "But why would I do that?" She asked with a sly sort of smile. She looked back up at him, but not before sticking her face close to his, her smile turning into more of a grin. "I could just undress you myself," she hummed in a more sultry manner, really more amused by the conversation than anything.

Sage sort of hummed in resposne to her comment, cockin ghis head slightly in response to her tease, a light grin resting on his face. "You could," he agreed in a rather amused manner. "How would you accomplish that if I decided not to help you out at all," he added, teasing her slightly. He could, in all reality, probably just lay there and it would be pretty difficult to take his pants off. It was amusing to think about, really, but they both knew that if she went for it he wouldn't have any issues with it, so that would probably never happen.

Mari raised a brow at him, though scoffed at his reply. If he decided to be really unhelpful, she'd probably struggle quite a bit. More so, she'd just be embarrassed and give up. The thought amused her quite a bit, but she was still playing around. She let out an exasperated huff, then moved run her lips along the soft of his neck before sitting back a little, letting her fingers brush softly along his shoulder. "What? If you're not going to help at all I'm going to have to beg and no one wants that," she mused, although she still held that playfully grumpy look across her face. She was just messing around though, although was amusing herself more than anything now.

Sage hummed lightly when he felt her lips brush his neck, grinning over at her when she leaned back and he could see her face. "You want my pants off that bad, huh," he teased her lightly, eyes glittering. He suppsoed they hadn't planned on anything happening, but it was going that direction, and he certainly didn't mind. "Maybe I'll help just a little bit," he added with a soft chuckle, finding the whole thing rediculously funny. You'd think he would have grown used to it all by now...having a wife, and someone who liked him and his body like this and not just for a night of fun. But he hadn't . And each time she mentioned how she thought he was pretty or handsome or good looking, he couldn't help but feel god about it.

Mari couldn't help her small chuckle at his comments. Really, she was still just playing, but she didn't mind where it was going at all... she didn't think, anyway. She felt a bit of a laugh rising from her throat at his comments, then rested her head on her hand with a bit of a smirk across her face, giving him a little but eager nod. She flopped onto her side before running her eyes over him again. She bobbed her head thoughtfully before sort of chuckling and letting her hand run down to his abdomen, still sort of contemplating. "You're making this an awful lot of effort for me just to see you naked, you know," she complained, though a smile was still spread across her face... this was all pretty amusing. After a moment of just waiting, she rolled her eyes at him and sort of sat up and moved to sort of half straddle him, tucking her fingers gently through the rim of his pants as she leaned forward to press a light kiss to the mark on his shoulder. She still remembered so clearly when he told her how he got it. How his father had calved in into him time and time again, to convince him that he was... nothing. But the man had been so wrong, because so quickly he'd become her everything. He meant more to her than she could ever verbalise, and so much more than the boy would ever be able to comprehend. And yet, it was still there. She couldn't wrap her head around how someone could deface their own child in such a way. How the man could genuinely make Sage feel as defenceless as he once did. It was such a strange thing to think about... how he went through so much, and still managed to be an incredible husband and father. She shook her head after a moment, and sort of moved to peck his lips with a softer smile. "Help me a little bit then," she mused in a sort of whisper.
