Sage snickered when she mentioned the doctor was past his wizard years, humming softly. "The old man doesn't need a cloak to scare people," he noted, amused at the thought. Though, when she mentioned the horses he couldn't help but laugh at that too. "I suppose so," he mused lightly, pondering the thought. "If they can handle my weirdness they can handle anything," he added with a grin, just humming happily in response to her next comments, giving her a soft smile when she got more serious. "I couldn't have done any of it without you," he murmured before his grin widened again with a snicker. "That does tend to help with things," he agreed lightly

Mari bobbed her head in agreement before letting out a small chuckle. "As scary as he can be, I do love that man. He does a lot for us, you know," she hummed thoughtfully. He old man really was brilliant. She didn't think her and Sage would have even met if it wasn't for him. "Show him a bit of respect," she chuckled in amusement. They could joke about Sage and his work all they they wanted, really... but he was good with the animals. "If it wasn't for your madness we wouldn't be here in the first place. Your crazy can't be all that bad," she hummed with a light laugh. At his last comments, she sort of rolled her eyes, but gave a nod anyway. "That's true," she chucked. They wouldn't have... well, they'd be living incredibly different lives if they hadn't stayed together. Or met at all, to be honest. She grinned when he agreed it helped, and gently poked his side. "Means I can put up with you more," she laughed happily.

Sage hummed softly and chuckled along with her comments about the doctor, agreeing completely with her first comments. "Hey, he calls me names all the time," he huffed, though more amused than anything. "Maybe," he hummed at her next comment. "Though I wouldnt have done much of you hadn't been there with me." That was just the truth...she'd given him the jumpstart he'd needed and had continued to be with him the entire way, until he could stand in his own. And even now she was still here, at his side. And he really couldn't be more grateful. "Mmm, you do have to put up with a lot sometimes," he mused, mostly joking around, though there was some truth to the comment.

Mari felt a laugh rise from her throat when he mentioned the doctor calling him names. "You probably deserve it when he makes fun of you," she chuckled lightly to him. Really, the man loved him, and it was nice they could have a bit of fun in their relationship. It was a friendship as much as they were father and son. "You guys are nice to watch when you're together," she hummed. She looked at him with a small, thoughtful smile. "I'm just glad it ended up so well. You're pretty good most of the time, too," she laughed softly. She let out an playfully exasperated breath before rolling her eyes. "Tell me about it," she laughed, though her expression was light. "Think yourself you're pretty," she murmured softly before sort of settling down in the bed to get comfortable.

Sage humemd lightly when she said he probably deserved any names the old man called him, and he couldn't disagree. "Only sometimes," he noted with a sort of chuckle. "I'm glad it all worked out too," he agreed happily, a fond smile forming on his face. The old man had done a lot for him, and for their little family. Plus he was just fun to be around. At her next comment though, he chuckled softly and grinned over at her. "Well I'm not going to argue that I'm not pretty if that's what's keeping you here," he teased her gently.

Mari made a face at him before giving a small chuckle. "Only sometimes," she repeated, her tone really just amused more than anything. She looked over at him before shrugging gently. "Me too. It's nice you have someone like that now," she hummed softly, a little smile spreading cross her face. She scoffed at his last comment, though, and let out a short laugh. "This might even be better than that old lord I was gonna get with," she teased him, but that really was it. She was so lucky to be here... and there really had been a time when she just didn't think she'd get to live happily. Not this happily, anyway. Not with someone she trusted so much... and she definitely didn't think that person would be Sage. Not with how how they'd acted with eachother when they'd first met. But he'd opened up to her... let her help him, and she couldn't be more grateful for it. "I love you a little bit too, if that helps at all," she murmured tiredly, sort of settling down under the covers. She looked up at her husband after a moment, her brows pinching together. "Would be nice if my super handsome husband took his shirt off for me every once in a while, mind," she teased all in play.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her first comment, nodding along when she noted it was nice to have someone like that. "Oh, I'm sure both has its benefits," he teased lightly, since they both knew full well she'd never leave him for another man, especially not some old guy who really couldn't care less about her. Though, he hummed fondly when she mentioned she loved him and nodded his head along to the comment. "That does tend to help things, I suppose," he chuckled, eyebrows raising when she teased him about his shirt, a mischievous grin forming on his face. "Take my shirt off, huh," he mused. "What do I get for it then," he added, really just messing about.

Mari grinned up at him before moving to peck a light kiss to his lips. "I think so. On one hand living in a mansion would be nice, but on the other I've got you..." she trailed off with a chuckle, her grin dropped a little but it wasn't for any other reason than she was just... thinking. God she loved Sage. She loved their kids too, but this was just different. "You're better," she mused lightly. She cocked her head with a bit of a pout when he asked what he'd get in return, and had to whithold a snicker as she gently ran her fingers over his collarbone. "I'm not sure... a completely devoted admirer?" She almost seemed to ask, though found herself sitting up again, clearly not quite so tired anymore. She seemed to be debating something before she gave a bit of a laugh. "I would suck you off but I'm not feeling that right now," she teased in a rather sarcastic manner. She sort of looked at him expectantly as she left her hand gently playing with the soft hair around his neck. "You would have an incredibly happy wife. What more could you want," she asked with a teasing laugh. Edited at December 2, 2024 02:22 AM by Belle

Sage chuckled softly in response to her comment, really just amused by the whole situation. "Well I'm glad to decided not to go for anyone else," he mused softly, rolling his eyes as she went on about his shirt. "You're needy," he teased her lightly, but moved to unbutton his shirt anyway, letting out slide off his shoulders and rising it if the side of the bed, settling down next to her again with a light hum. "Better," he teased, not minding it at all. He wasn't sure where that had come from, but he was clearly enjoying his time with her.

Mari gave a shrug in response before shaking her head with an amused sort of hum. "I'm pretty lucky you decided the same thing," she mused, sort of shaking her head. She'd really only ever teased about it... there was honestly no chance that she would have thought about anyone else. Not now, especially after they'd been together for so long. She had to admit that she could be a bit antsy every now and then, and she knew that... but she was never bored of Sage. She furrowed her brows at him after a moment before huffing out a breath when he called her needy, but he wasn't all that wrong. She watched him for a moment, an only slightly visible smile cross her face when he settled down next to her. "Better," she repeated, a small chuckle escaping her as she sort of ran her nails lightly down his chest before going to peck his cheek fondly.
