Sage chuckled softly in response to her comment, giving her a crooked grin. "I'm sure we would come up with something," he hummed. Though, as she kept talking, he hummed softly. "The warm bed does have its benefits, I suppose," he admitted, giving her an amused glance as he finished his drink and sighed. "You ready to go," he asked after a moment or so, glancing over at her.

Mari shrugged at his comment, though groaned when he said it was time to go. It was such an odd feeling... she loved her life now, but she had to admit she did sometimes miss the freedom she used to have. She downed the leaf of her drink before leaving the glass on the side, nodding to him. "I suppose so," she muttered. She wondered if Sage ever felt that way. She supposed he still did whatever he wanted... only, now he had the horses to look after. And the kids, of course, but she mostly cared for them.

Sage chuckled softly when she groaned, holding his arm out to her once he stood up. "We'll go out and do stuff like this more often," he promised lightly, starting to wander back in the direction of Edith's house, so they could grab the kids on the way back home. Hopefully, the walks and visiting would have tired them out and they'd go straight to bed. It would give he and mari some time to relax before they went to bed themselves. Or they could get an early night in...the drinks might influence that a little bit too.

Mari wrapped her arm around his almost instinctively when she got up, but nodded lightly. "That would be nice. We need to have a day once every few weeks that we just go out the two of us," she hummed. Though, when she thought about it... the next few months could be difficult, especially with the king and queen being so sick. But, it was still a nice idea to get out every now and then. She smiled lightly to him after a moment. "With any luck the kids will be straight to bed," she mused lightly as they approached her mothers house.

Sage nodded lightly, grinning over at her. "That sounds good," he chirped lightly. It was a nice thought, going out every so often with her. Just spoiling her a little bit, enjoying themselves. It would give the kids time with Edith and Anthony too. He hummed in agreement to her next comment, moving to knock on the door and then wander inside Edith's house. "Here's to hoping," he mused lightly, greeting the family happily when he saw them.

"To hoping," she mused, though when the kids came over she couldn't help her grin. She picked Liz up happily, patting her back before greeting the rest of the family. It was a short exchange... but she was certainly happy to at least see her family. When they'd finally gathered the kids back up, they started wandering back home happily, and were soon through the door. The kids were basically hanging off hee and Sage at that point, so all Mari could do was get them to their rooms to put them to bed for a little bit.

Sage nodded with a grin, greeting the kids as they ran over and then giving Edith a hug and greeting Anthony, who clapped him lightly in the arm. They didn't stay super long, but it was a nice time anyway. The kids were tired though, so he'd wound up carrying Liz most of the way home, and Silas was half asleep by the time they got home. It took a bit to get them ready for bed, but they made it, and he flopped onto their own bed with a tired sigh once what was done, having quite enjoyed the evening.

Mari helped run the kids upstairs after a little bit, a sort of humming as she settled them down. Once they were all comfortable, they fell asleep fairly quickly... she supposed her mother and brothers would have tired the both of them out quite quickly. They were pretty lucky to have such easy children. She wandered back into their room after a bit, and quickly changing before wandering over and flopping down ontop of Sage with a small grunt. "I'd like to think hoping worked," she mused lightly.

Sage grunted when she flopped on top of him, wrapping his arms around her with a soft hum. He chuckled when she spoke up, nodding along in agreement. "We got lucky," he mused lightly. "Though, they normally do head to bed when we tell them," he admitted with a sort of shrug, fingers absentmindedly running through her hair.

Mari couldn't help her small chuckle when he grunted, though settled down when he wrapped his arms around her. He was right... on a normal day they were pretty good. She hoped they stayed that way. She wanted to think it was just luck, but the reality of it was that they'd be very different if they'd grown up the way Sage had. Sage was an exception to the others that had grown up on the streets... nothing had been easy for him. Nothing had been handed to him, and yet, somehow, he was so much better than most people she knew. That was luck. He hadn't been raised that way, and she was lucky to have found him. Well, she thought so anyway. She could still tease, though. "At least someone does what I tell them to," she mused.
