Jaxon waited for her reply, though when she gave it ... it wasn't very informative. "Well, not to be rude or anything, but you both seem to have to put up with each other. Though, again not trying to be rude... it looks like he backs down a little more than you do." Jax answered, feeling a little awkward. He didn't want to be rude... or push too hard... but he wanted to figure this out so he didn't have to wonder. "He seems to really ant to be your friend, and you seem the same way, but then you both distance yourselves from each other." Jax mused, but he stopped quickly. "If you don't want to talk about it that's fine, sorry for bringing it up." He started hurridely, glancing away and looking back at the trees.

Regan looked over at him with a cocked head as he spoke, a small chuckle escaping her after a little while. "No, no, don't worry about being rude," she mused lightly. He was right, though, and she did know that. She knew that Tyler tried to get along with her, and she tried too, but neither of them could seem to figure each other out. "I know, I know. He's good in that way. He puts up with a lot from me, I think," she murmured with a bit of a heavy breath. "He says I'm hard to get along with. He is too, though," she started slowly. "We're... similar, in a few ways. We're both stubborn and strong willed, but he does accommodate me well, when he backs down. I always feel bad about it later, thiugh," she noted with a sheepish chuckle. "And we do this thing - we get closer and friendlier, then all of a sudden it seems awkward and stiff. I never know if it's because I've said something or... what, but it does make things hard,." It was true... she worked hard to get along with him, and he worked just as hard to, but they both just seemed to struggle with each others personalities from time to time.

Jaxon listened as Regan explained, some things coming into the light. From what he observed, they were both strong willed and stubborn. Jax knew that people with similar personalities either got over it and got along very well, or never got over it and ended up being enemies. There was really no middle. Sooner or later he knew Regan and Tyler would either get along or leave each other. Jaxon knew they did have a chance of getting along, because he could tell the boy cared a lot and tried hard to be more ... timid. "I know it's not my place... and you don't have to listen to this... but just let him back down. Don't feel bad. He really is trying hard and does want a relationship, I can tell, so you can't be hesitant. This does sound bad, but be firm and kinda press it on him. From what I see he will just back down." Jaxon voiced his thoughts, then decided that was definetely enough and he had probably said way too much. "Sorry I said that much, I'm just saying my thoughts." He mumbled, continuing to walk forward and gazing down. This did feel nice, in a way... getting out in nature, talking with someone, feeling the breeze ruffle his brown hair. Jaxon felt like he was ruining it by talking about this.

Regan cocked her head at him as he spoke.... she knew he seemed to feel bad for giving her his input, but it sss actually really... helpful. She wasn't used to someone else giving her ideas the way he was, and it did help her out. And he really didn't need to apologise... she really just seemed happy to have someone else to talk to. She was a bit confused, though... let him back down? What did he mean by that? She would feel awful if he was the one that always had to do the giving in. "Forgive me, but I am a bit... confused. What do you mean by that? Letting him be the one to back down all the time seems a bit... unfair. I don't want him to always be walking on eggshells around me," she added with a bit of a hum. It was a nice day... but she couldn't really pay much attention to her surroundings. She more or less just wanted to figure out what was being said.

Jaxon decided that Regan actually did want his help, so although he did stay wary... he carefully gave his input and tried to explain. "Well... he has already got this role down. I can tell that he is listening to you and trying not to argue, and even for the couple hours I've been with you two I can see he has gotten much more at ease with it. Tyler wants a steady relationship, and he is willing to do what it takes to make one. If you don't mind me saying, you just need to forget about *making him walk on eggshells* or *being unfair* because then it's your problem. Tyler knows what to do and is willing to do it, but you haven't really got that part down yet. You can't feel bad... because why? Why would you feel bad if he is happy? Don't think of it as backing down, think of it as trying to please you." Jax stated, running a hand through his bbrown hair. "I can't explain everything, because I don't know everything." He quietly added, though he would try his best to help... if that's what Regan wanted. - Tyler had finished cleaning everything and was starting to get worried. Where were they? Did Jaxon do something to hurt Regan? Did a rabid animal get to them? Once the worry set in it only took minutes to build up, so Tyler laid down everything and walked outside. He went on the path he had seen Regan run down, his brows furrowed as he lengthened his strides. Tyler just needed to make sure Regan was.. okay.

The young woman just stared at the man with a curious look on her face. She wondered how Jax could know for so much... see what needed to be done to make their friendship work. Despite everything said, she knew that she'd struggle not to feel bad about letting him be the one to stop things from escalating. "Why would it make him happy, though," she asked with a soft sigh. She knew she herself would never be happy just letting people win... so why couldn't she just accept it that he was? Why couldn't she figure out how to get her own role down? What was her role, just to constantly argue with him and let him be the one to take responsibility for it? She don't want to be that sort of person... not ever. "I get the feeling he doesn't want to talk to me sometimes. Do you not think that's why he does it?" She was asking s stranger for advice on her friendship with Tyler... it was odd, but she felt comfortable enough to do that. Jax just didn't seem like he was trying to get away from the conservation, which was a nice change.

Jaxon glanced at Regan again, looking thoughtful so he could give a good answer. "I haven't seen enough to know, but I have a small feeling you may be wrong. From what I've seen Tyler loves to talk with you, he is just not that good at starting the conversation... and sometimes keeping it going is hard, as well. Then again, I don't know anything about him or you, so I may be entirely wrong on why he is doing this." He replied, tensing as he heard footsteps behind him and turning. Jaxon saw Tyler, relaxing slightly but feeling a little uneasy that someone of that size could just... sneak up behind him, and he had no idea Tyler was there. - Tyler came close enough to hear voices, his footsteps silent. He didn't meant to eavesdrop, but it sounded like they were talking about him. -Oh great, I'm probably causing another problem- Tyler thought with a sinking feeling, walking a little faster and purposefully letting his feet hit the ground harder so that they could hear him. Jaxon turned first, and Tyler stopped a couple feet away. He was glad they were okay, though. "How are you both doing? Jaxon, I can see you are feeling better." Tyler asked cheerily, trying to sound positive... although different thoughts ran through his mind, and he worried about what they had been talking about

Regan smiled gently to the man, a small movement to tell him she was talking what he was saying in... it was a different approach to their relationship, for sure. She always had just jumped to the conclusion that Tyler genuinely didn't like her. She had a feeling that he just put up with her because she wouldn't leave. That... it was hard to think about, because she did like Tyler, and she did try to keep the peace, but she just wasn't amazing at it, clearly. She heard the heavy foot steps from not far away, of which she'd memorised to be Tyler's... how did he always sneak up on her that way? Was she that gullible? Truely? He did it on purpose, making his steps louder so that he didn't frighten anyone. She gave a sheepish looking smile to her friend once he spoke. "Alright Tyler," she chirped. "I take it you came looking for us because....?" She asked with a bit of a chuckle. She didn't think she'd ever actually heard him talk in such a cheerful tone... his ears must have been burning. Especially towards Jaxon, he'd been nothing but rude towards him since he'd gotten here, so the sudden change of pace was a bit... odd. Edited at July 22, 2023 10:12 PM by Belle

Tyler stayed still and watched Regan's reaction, snorting slightly at her second sentence. "I just decided to take a little break from the nets." He answered, not saying exactly why because he didn't want Regan to get angry that he wasn't welcoming Jaxon enough. Tyler really wasn't trying to make her mad, but he did have to force that cheerful tone out of him. It sounded so not normal. -my ears hurt- he thought, but focused on the task ahead. (Do you want to play Jax for right now since Tyler is with them?)

(Yeah, of course!) Regan raised a brow at the boy before humming gently to the boy. "Right," she huffed to the him before continuing on her walk. She had to admit, it was a bit... odd. He wasn't normally too concerned if she was out here, or actually come and find her if he had nothing better to do. If they did see eachother while our hunting or on their wonders, they kind of just pretended they didn't see one another. It was odd that he was walking out now anyway. But, remembering the conversation she'd just had, she did need to relax a little bit. He didn't mean any harm by anything, not at all. "Well, we were about to head back... I take it you're wanting to get back to your nets soon?" She asked with a small chuckle. - Tyler stood quietly next to Regan, kind of rocking back and fourth on his heels. He was picking up on the sort of cheerful tone that he was putting out. So, he had been right. He knew the man didn't like him much, and that was fine, they hadn't gotten off on the right foot. But it did make him a little bit pleased that he was trying the tiniest bit to get on a decent side of things.
