Sage moved to work with the horses, feeding and watering the horses, then letting them out in their respective paddocks and fields one by one as they finished eating. By the time Mari called him in, he was almost done, just sort of cleaning out stalls and stuff by then, so he set his tools down and moved back to the house after a few minutes, washing up and then sitting down at the table with the kids.

Mari grinned when the boy came in and pecked his cheek before going to sit back down at the table. They all ate happily, and soon enough the kids had ran off... they wanted to see their grandmother, so she walked them over to spend some time with her before wandering back... she'd pick the children up later. They'd be happy enough. She wandered back to the house, finding Sage back outside, so just got to work washing up happily.

Sage ate happily, absentmindedly chatting with Silas, the boys happy babble filling the room, along with the smell of the breakfast Mari had prepared for them all. It was nice. Not necessarily peaceful, but nice. Once they were done, though, he helped Mari clean up quickly before moving to get back to the horses, waving to the kids when they moved to go say hi to Edith. He stayed out for a while longer, though soon enough wandered back in the house, greeting Mari happily as he slid inside.

Mari was stood in the kitchen, though eventually she stopped washing up and just let the water run gently down her arms. It was a nice feeling... the quiet, all she could hear was the water running. Well, that was until Sage came in. She tuned her head to flash him a little smile, and turned off the tap to dry her hands off with a tea towel. "Horses all okay," she asked happily before going to toss the towel on the side.

Sage sort of wandered in after a moment, nodding lightly to Mari, humming a "yep" in agreement and pecking her on the lips in greeting before moving to wash up a little bit. It didn't take long ...but if they were just going to be around the house the rest of the day he was as well just shower now and be done with it all. He was back downstairs soon enough, and plopped on the couch with a sort of content sigh.

Mari smiled happily and watched him wander off. She eventually went to flop down on the couch, sort of just pondering. Amber came to curl up next to her, curling up on her stomach with her tail wrapped around her nose. The cat was getting older now... she rarely went out, and spent a lot of her time sleeping. It just meant Mari got a lot more cuddles from the animal when she got the time, and it was rather sweet. She looked over at Sage when he flopped down, and sort of sat up a little. "I'm thinking we need another cat or something," she mused softly, to which the cat just sort of looked at her before curling back up.

Sage sort of just flopped over next to Mari, reaching over to stroke amber lightly since she was right there. And he did love the little critter...she really was a part of their family. "That would be nice," he humemd, sort of cocking his head. "What if we bred Amber," he suggested after a moment. She wasn't too old to be a mom, not yet....and he rather liked the idea of having one of her kittens be there once she wasn't. The cat had helped him through a lot of hard times....even the thought of her passing hurt. But having one of her kittens seemed like a sweet idea.

Mari grinned and move to peck his cheek gently. "It would be nice," she murmured thoughtfully, then frowned and looked at the cat, who was curled up on her still. She was purring away happily, and she just sort of let out a soft breath. "She is getting on though," she murmured softly. "Would it be fair on her?" It was a little bit of a worry... plus, the cat had come from a old farmers shed. She wasn't particularly well bred, and they didn't know if it would cause any problems for the kittens. But, she did think it would be cute to have some of the animals kittens.

Sage sort of hummed and nodded, thinking for a moment before shrugging. "She'll still run around and catch mice and stuff when I work with the horses....she'd probably be alright," he admitted. And if she was too old, then she probably wouldn't conceive and carry a litter anyway, he supposed. He did hope she would ...it would be nice to have a mini amber hopping around....but he also wasn't going to do it if he thought it could endager her.

Mari looked over at him, and watched the cat for a moment before sort of shrugging. "Whatever you think is right," she mused softly to the man. "It would be cute," she mused gently to the boy. She did like the idea. It was Sages first pet.. and really they'd only started getting along because of the animal. It would be nice to have a kitten of hers. She moved to pet the animal before grinning up at Sage. "If you think she'll be alright then why not," she chirped.
