Ajax did not answer to this, having enough sense to know it was a losing battle for him. For Mercy, on the other hand... not so much. "I could never, it isn't like he's my dog or anything." He answered just as sarcastically. As Mercy scooted over Rex bounced on up, curling around before squishing his giant body into a tiny space and plopping his head in Mercy's lap with his paw in her hand. Rex let out a low sigh, looking up at Ajax with big puppy eyes. "How do you still pull that off? You're 5!" Ajax snorted at the dog, but honestly, it was adorable.

"Exactly. We have a bond." Mercy joked, grinning as Rex bounced onto the couch. She giggled as his head plopped into her lap, gently stroking his head and leaning her own against Ajax's shoulder. Her other hand was holding his paw, so she gently rubbed her thumb over the fur on the top of it. She huffed as Ajax spoke again, making some sort of offended noise. "Because he is, and always will be, just a baby." She said determinedly.

Rex let out a low woof, as if agreeing, before closing his eyes with a small sigh and probably falling asleep. Ajax rolled his eyes slightly. "A bond. Right." He snorted, lifting his eyebrows at her statement. "Riiiigggghhhhttt again. The 200 pound hunk of sleep and drool will ALWAYS be a baby. Because he is just that adorable." He said sarcastically, laughing a little. "Well I'm glad I have this baby and you. Really brightens my day." Ajax said with a small smile.

Mercy snickered slightly at Rex before continuing to absentmindedly stroke the huge St. Bernard. She nodded along sarcastically with what Ajax said, looking up at him and offering a smile. "Exactly! See, you're catching on pretty well." She lifted her head off his shoulder slightly at his words, pressing a light kiss against his cheek. "Well, thanks. You're a pretty big light in my life too." She chuckled, setting her head back down and closing her eyes.

(We should skip a couple months later to the day of the wedding. This RP needs more drama xD. Otherwise it is gonna sink and I don't want it to) +++ Ajax grinned a little at her words, shaking his head. "I think I need a new punchline. I'm thinking about something along the lines of... *Whatever you say, Mercy*" He commented slowly, a smile curling onto his face. "Now, I have an important question. Wait no... I think I already know the answer. You like Rex better, don't you." He managed a grief-stricken face, letting out a low, dramatic sigh. "I know I'll NEVER be as handsome as HE is but give me a chance." Ajax joked with a slight twinkle in his eye.

Sure! I gotcha- I was figuring we could have them tell Goose and Rooster, do a little bit of wedding planning, then cut to the wedding? And maybe Grady makes some drama there? Whatever you like :) )) "Ah, now that is a good punchline if I ever heard one. Whatever I say goes, so obviously, it's right. Good job." Mercy mocked, raising her eyebrows. "Mmmmhm, what is this important question you speak of?" She asked sarcastically, lifting her head to look at him with a grin. She bit her lip quietly at his words, her smile falling as she looked the other way. "Ajax... I didn't want you to find out this way." She said sarcastically, mocking a hushed tone. "...I mean, you're right. I guess I'll give you a chance. But Rex will always be my most handsomest dog." She explained jokingly.

(Sounds good. And I can't wait for Grady drama (evil laughter)) +++ "Obviously. That punchline is why I'll make a great husband." Ajax let out a heavy snort of slight amusement. He resumed his sad expression, a slight scowl crossing his face and his eyes darkening with some impressive acting at her words. "Ohhhh, I understand. Well, if you only want Rex, I guess I'll just have to leave." he sniffed haughtily, lifting his chin in defiance before happening to glance at Rex. The dog was flipping smiling. Rex had his head lifted with a wolfish grin on his maw, his tongue lolling out. Ajax couldn't help it. He moaned and burst into laughter, shaking his head. "BAD timing Rex."

"Exactly. I'm so excited." Mercy giggled, doing the faintest of happy wiggles before he continued. "I mean, I didn't say you had to leave. I just told you the truth, and I'm guessing you wouldn't rather me lie to you." She joked, looking down at Rex when she saw Ajax divert his gaze. "If that's not a steal-your-girl face, I dunno what is." She snickered, setting her head back on Ajax's shoulder.

"Excited. That's the word." Ajax joked with a teasing twinkle in his dark blue eyes. "But I HAVE to leave after that HORRIBLE rejection. How DARE you." He huffed dramatically, snorting at her words. "Rex, you're mean. Stop looking like that. I can't make a cute enough face to rival it." Ajax rolled his eyes, covering the dogs face with his hand. Rex let out a snort of his own, sighing again before laying his head back on Mercy's lap and watching Ajax carefully. "It's like he knows I'm going to try and steal you back. Sad." Ajax sighed with a small chuckle.

"I didn't reject you! I just made sure you knew the truth. I still like you and all that jazz." Mercy teased, giggling at Ajax again. "Awe, I think you're adorable, beloved." She teased. "Just not as adorable as the most handsomest big boy." She mocked, offering Ajax a smile afterward. "I would expect nothing less." She teased, sitting up to press a few kisses to his cheek. "You know, I think we should call Goose and Rooster over. I think they'll be absolutely shocked." She grinned.
