also for me its told from the point of view of death just btw) Gale waited before hearing a whistle and heading after Sage, coming upon a fire. *A BREIF SUMMARY OF GALE HUMMENDEAUS * He's annoying. He fights back. He's really mouthy. He's really annoying because no matter how many times I try to claim him, whether with a king or sword,he won't die. At this point,I think I might just let him off. He'll stay alive physically,but...I can always kill him mentally. And perhaps his truted friend could be the one to break him.

Gale sat on the ground, warming his hands over the fire as Sage fed it,looking out into the woods. ___ Truth was,he was looking at me. Or, Many pairs of gleaming eyes, backs armed with crossbows, hips filled with sheaths and knifes, hands holding swords and hookfangs(a curved knife that looks like a half moon),and a taste for killing. Killing is my cousin,me and him just vibe and eh,we kinda fit together.

Gale slid his hand over her shoulder, pulling her into him as the fire crackled. Sage looked back into the woods, shaking his head and turning back.

I’ve been watching him for a while now. Gale, leaning on Kayla near the fire, looking all cozy and oblivious. I mean, I get it—he’s young, he’s got his girl by his side, his buddies around, and a fire to warm his bones. Lucky guy. He even gets to sleep at night. I don’t. No naps for me. Not that I need ‘em. I’ve got eternity to think about everything, so sleep’s a little overrated, you know? I’m not in a rush, though. Not yet. They think they’re safe. Poor things. They all think they have time. But hey, who am I to ruin their fun? The fire’s crackling, they’re all laughing like they’re the first people ever to sit around a campfire. It’s cute. I mean, seriously, they’re all so alive, it’s almost charming. Kayla, with that soft smile of hers, leaning against Gale like she doesn’t have a care in the world. And Gale—he’s smiling like he’s got it all figured out, like the world can’t touch him. Funny thing is, it can. And it will. But no need to spoil the moment. I’ve got better things to do than mess with their good time. Sage’s over there, too, probably making some sarcastic comment or rolling his eyes, and Varys—the wolf—he’s just laying by the fire, eyes glowing in the dark. Yeah, I see you, buddy. You’re not fooling anyone. You can act all tough, but we both know what happens when the clock runs out. Not even fur’s gonna save you. But I’ll let you enjoy the warmth for now. They all look so relaxed. I almost feel bad. Almost. Lucky. They get to have all this. They get to sit and talk and love and laugh without a care in the world. Meanwhile, I’m here, just waiting. You know, just doing my thing. Keeping an eye on things. Making sure no one gets too comfortable. I don’t mind though. Watching them, I mean. It's a little bit like watching a play from backstage—everyone’s got their lines, their moments, and they all think they’re in control. But we all know how this ends. Anyway, yada yada, not my job to be the party pooper. I’ve got my own schedule. I’ll show up when the time’s right. Gale’s lucky. He gets his sleep. But me? Death?I’m on call forever.
