Maxine frowned lightly "But you and Charlie need me... you can't h-" she broke off her protest when Sage interrupted her giving a small frown before giving a huff "Fine... I'm sure Travis would love to come over anyways he's not gonna wanna be at the baby shower anyway." She said offering a chuckle before she reluctantly went to get ready to go "I can't help but worry Sage..." She retorted before seemingly admitting defeat and heading into the bathroom to shower. About an hour later she came out into the living room with a pair of jeans and a black tank top with one of Sage's plaid shirts over it. Her hair in waves and tied back in two braids behind her head to hold her hair back "Satisfied?" She asked raising a brow at him with a smirk. Her father looked at her curiously as he held Charlie "Aren't you going to wear a dress?" He asked "No?" Max replied "It's not a fancy party or a wedding it's just a baby shower...?" She replied her father giving a small nod "Alright then." He replied deciding it was better not to start an argument with his daughter or upset his grandchild or son in law. |

Sage wrinkled his nose at Max when she came back out of the bathroom. "That's mine," he whined, though of course he didn't mind Max stealing his shirts. She did it often, and he had to admit, if he fit in her sweatshirts he'd probably steal hers, too. They smelled like her...it was nice, which was why he stole her blankets and slept on her side of the bed when hegot tired through the day. He chuckled when Lance gave up, and he had to admit he wouldn't be willing to argue with Max over the outfit either. "You look great babe," he hummed, giving her a thumbs up. "Go have fun." Charlie, the jealous little baby, garbled and kicked at Sage's chest until he looked down at her and wrapped his arms around her with a giggle. "Oh, you look great too, you silly goose," he told his daughter, which seemed to satisfy the girl, based off of her squeals and giggles. Once Max had left, he texted Travis, since he did want to see the guy. 'Max is going to the baby shower. How about you come over here? She wants to make sure I don't die or something lol' he texted his friend. Travis knew he was hurt, but he hadn't given him a whole lot of detail about it yet, since he'd mostly been sleeping, so he figured they should get together and talk anyway. |

"Well you won't let me be here with you so i'm taking you with me... in a way." she smirked playfully heading over to him and kissing him before looking back at her dad a laugh leaving her as she saw him back down before she turned her attention toward Sage "You have fun too just be careful." she told him giving Charlie a kiss on her forehead "You be good for daddy, grandpa and Travis ok?" she laughed before she headed out. Of course Travis loved the idea of getting to see his friend again 'On my way! Want me to bring some beer?' he offered. |

Sage chuckled and waved his hands to playfully shoo Max out the door, a dumb grin on his face. He texted Travis back once Max had gone and Charlie had quieted down a bit. 'sure, have at it's he texted him back. 'Lance is here too so we can all talk or whatever's he informed his friend. |

*K* Travis replied *Bringing Ollie too just so you know hope you don't mind.* when he showed up he had a few individual beers in one hand and Oliver's hand in the other the little boy wearing a cute little dinosaur backpack that Max had gotten him for being a good boy when she'd taken him and Charlie to the store "Hi uncle Sage!" He chirped happily. |

Sage, of course, didn't mind...he knew Hailey was out, so of course he had to bring the boy along. He gave the boy a wide grin and scooped him up, giving the boy a greeting as he hopped into his lap. Charlie, who tended to get jealous, crawled onto Sage's lap top with a babble, but when Oliver gave her a hug, they eventually crawled off the couch (and Sage) to play. Sage grinned and waved at Travis and patted the couch. "Thanks for coming. For some reason Max didn't trust me not to get myself killed before I can even walk around the block," he chuckled fondly. He introduced Lance and Travis to eachother and then flopped back on the couch. |

Oliver smiled at his uncle "Hiii" he chirped happily giving him a hug as they headed over and sat on the couch he giggled and greeted Charlie taking off his backpack and pulling something out of his bag "I made this for Charlie." He cooed showing him the picture of the two of them as stick figures holding hands. Travis chuckled happily "No problem I'm glad I finally had an opportunity." He admitted giving a small chuckle "Gee I can't imagine why..." he said looking his friend up and down "At least you weren't riding the motorcycle in the car crash..." he replied a hint of relief in his voice as Lance came over. When the two of them were introduced Lance smiled and flopped back onto the couch "Yeah he sure is lucky... I couldn't imagine if he'd been on that damn motorcycle..." he replied "I'm surprised Max has kept that..." he admitted. |

Sage grinned sheepishly and shrugged. "The motorcycle is fun," he protested, shaking his head with an amused tone to his voice. "Though, I did assume she'd take it away once she figured out I ride quite...uhhh...not safely," he mused thoughtfully. He shrugged then and chuckled. "We compromised. I have to wear a helmet and then I can screw around." He was a little bit surprised Max had kept the bike too, but it did hold a lot of memories from the two of them, and it was fun and easy to use. Plus, he could regenerate....so if he died it wasn't a big deal, unless the cops saw him come back to life. But even in the instance that it did happen, Roxie would wipe their memories of the incident and it would be all good. |

Travis laughed "Good I'm glad someone is there to rein you in... God knows I'm not a good influence... Guys generally aren't when they're around eachother though let's be honest..." he laughed. Lance smirked "Nah I think Max kept the bike around because she put it together herself... well maybe not all the way together but she dated a guy once that worked as a mechanic with his father... the two of them spent time together and whatever she learned there I'm guessing she used to fix that bike... besides... while they're dangerous they still have their uses... great in emergencies too..." he admitted. After the kids were put down for their naps the three of them hung out chatted about the gritty stuff they didn't want their wives or kids hearing about. After he'd checked on them and set the kids up with something to do after their nap he flopped back onto the couch with an exhausted sigh "Man... we should trade off more often... If only to let me get a nap in..." he chuckled "This time with Hailey I've been at the store at like 4am most nights to get her whatever she's craving..." he laughed "I've even started bringing backups because she's changed her mind on me more then once after I've gotten home..." he said letting out a mildly exhausted chuckle. |

Sage snorted at Lances comment, though good naturedly, and then gave Travis a chuckle and somewhat sheepish nod. He thought for a moment before shrugging. "I'm not sure if she put it together or not," he mused. He soon forgot about it though, as their conversation went on. He grinned tiredly at Travis once they all say down and the kids were curled up together. "Tell me about it," he groaned. "When I say I'll do anything for Max, I mean slay dragons and slay bad guys, not..like...doing the dishes," he chuckled good naturedly. Of course he'd do the dishes if Max asked him to or if they needed to get done, but that didn't mean he'd enjoy it. "She wants a boy," he admitted. "One about Charlie's age, so she can have a playmate. I'm more than fine with the idea, but after what happened last time....I don't know if I'm willing to risk it," he huffed. "I wanted your opinions on it all." |
