Caden pulled on some sweats as the cops burst through the door, seeing the man lying motionless first thing. They tore through the house, eventually laying eyes on Caden and believing he was the intruder. "Hands where we can see them!" One of them shouted, Caden doing so and looking back at Emily as another officer came and handcuffed him. "My lawyer's card is on my nightstand, give him a call and explain everything." He explained to her, getting pushed forward as he tried explaining he was innocent. "That's what they all say," Another murmured, shoving his head into the back of a patrol car before driving off.

Emily was shaken up still and backed up quickly, terrified. She nodded at Caden and did so after the police left

Caden had gone to jail plenty of times before, figuring the most comfy positions in the patrol car. "Ol' Bug and Cookie, how've you two been?'' He asked, the steel aroud his wrists cold against his skin. "Same old, nothin' new really. Didn't think we'd get you back this early," Bug muttered, Caden chuckling. "I'm telling you, wasn't me. I just shot him in defense since he broke into MY house."

They eventually called, saying he was innocent and would be getting dropped off later that day.

Emily was glad atthe news and went to work on the cars

Caden got out of the patrol car, feeling much how he did as a kid, always getting dropped off by the cops once they caught him. He walked back inside, heading straight for the shower.

Emily heard him and called a "hey" across the garage at the open roll up door

He looked up at her before turning his gaze away, somewhat ashamed of himself as he showered.

She didn't hear a response and it worried her. She let him have his space, not pushing
