Caden just nodded, staring out the window at the pale moon.

"something on your mind?"

"Something's off. I don't know what it is but, somethings wrong." He murmured softly, his gaze still outwards.

"Don't feel right," He muttered, standing and pulling on his boxers before grabbing his pistol from the nightstand. Caden turned the safety off, starting to make his way downstairs with the trained precision of somebody who had had to do so too many times.

She watched him, getting dressed

He eventually made way back upstairs, shutting the door behind him before grabbing Emily and pulling her under the bed with him. Caden pressed a finger to his lips, watching the door as his heart beat like a drum.

She was silent, in a bra and jean shorts, as she huddled against him

A man came in, walking around the room before turning to leave. Caden let out a silent breath, the man turning back and yanking him out from under. He yelped, kicking the man's legs out from under him before shooting him. He stood, making sure the man was the only one before walking back into the bedroom. "It was just him, we're safe now, cops are on their way." Caden murmured, shaking slightly as he put the gun down and helped Em up.

She nodded silently, shaken up quite a bit. She had pure terror in her eyes and flinching at his gesture
