Elara chuckled, embarrased he still remembered that. "I also remember that, I thought you were asleep or something." She chuckled, smiling warmly at his addition. "Good, i'm glad you say that."

Sage laughed softly, shaking in head in fond amusement. "Those were different times, to be sure," he mused in thought. When she spoke up again though, he looked back at her with a grin. "Well, we agreed to be friends At the very least I can be honest about enjoying your company," he noted gently.

"Absolutely," She hummed with a chuckle. At his next comment, Elara smiled softly, debating taking his hand but deciding against it. "Honestly, I don't know what I would've done if you didn't let me come with you, get out of that hellhole." The woman noted

Sage nodded with a grin at her comment, humming softly when she mentioned what she'd have done otherwise. "Well, I had a feeling you'd have followed me either way," he noted. "You were going to run....I just wanted to make sure you ran somewhere safe. Could take care of yourself," he added gently.

"I considered not following you but, it was just something about you, I don't know exactly what it was since we both hated eachother then but I took up your offer and y'know Sage, i'm really glad I did." She noted, meeting his gaze quietly.

Sage felt a smile cross his face as he met her gaze steadily. "I'm glad you tagged along too," he noted softly. "I feel like I can trust you with anything. And I've never had someone like that before," he added after a moment

Sage glanced back at her and grinned. When she slipped her hand on his he was a little surprised, but his grin widened all the same. "Me too," he noted simply, squeezing her hand back gently.

She smiled at that, flicking her gaze back out as the sun started setting, painting the skies pink as the wind stilled, leaving birds chirping and the faint trickle of the creek. The quiet between them was comfortable, instead of awkward. Something hummed in the air then, perhaps the start of something between two.
