"I can bring you back to mine, but I can assure you that you'll be slightly bored, i've gotta finish work" Matt smiled, sitting himself up so he could pull his shirt on, shotting Trixie a rather quick 'sorry' as he wriggled out of her grasp. After he'd managed to pull his shirt on he got himself ready, twirling the car keys round his finger. "So do you wanna come back with me? If not i'm more than happy to drop you back to yours" he said politely, indicating that he very much wanted to leave.

"I could never be bored with you around." Trixie teased halfheartedly, drawing her hands off him and crossing them awkwardly as he walked off to change. She changed as well, instead of sitting there doing nothing while she watched him change. She was still wiggling into her jeans when he asked his question, and she clasped them before moving to her shoes. "I'd love to go back to yours, if you want me there." She shrugged, running her fingers through her hair lightly.

"I have nothing against you coming" Matt smiled, picking up his phone, grateful he remembered he had left it on the stand. After they were both ready he head downstairs, stopping by the door to wait for Trixie. "Are you gonna want to tell your friends you're leaving or mo? If so i'll wait in the car" he asked, his tone the same polite one as earlier. His gaze caught a couple of girls as they passed, though he tore it away rather quickly, eager to go pretty much just go home. Edited at November 13, 2023 08:41 PM by Wayside Wilds

"That's not the same as wanting me there." Trixie chuckled, following him easily. "No, they'll be fine." She nodded, watching his gaze drift off with the slightest of frowns. They were just... friends. He was allowed to look, even touch. In fact, she had no right to be jealous. Because they were just friends. She cleared her throat and walked through the door. "Let's go, I guess." She nodded.

"Gosh fine, I want you come back with me" Matt said, then nodded and headed out, surprised at the wave of cold air that hit him as soon as he left through the doors. He unlocked the cat and got in, waiting for Trixie before starting up the engine. "Are you okay? You seem slightly off" Matt asked, his tone that of genuine concern. He wasn't exactly sure if he'd done anything wrong since coming down from upstairs, or in fact anything to do with the conversation before that but he knew he'd at least like to know.

"There it is. You could just say you'll miss me dearly if I go home." Trixie said sarcastically walking with him to the car. She hopped in the passenger side, giving him a surprised look at the question. She thought it over for a moment. She let out a little huff. "I mean, I'm fine, theres just something that's bothering me a little. Do you want to talk about... us, or just let it lay whereever we are right now?" She asked quietly, holding his gaze somewhat nervously. She didn't want him to get frustrated or annoyed with her for it, but she already felt like he was slightly annoyed with her, so.

"You wanna be lied to?" Matt joked, running his finger along the bottom of the steering wheel as he listened to her next comment. He frowned a little, staring forward at a couple cars parked in front of him instead of looking at Trixie. "I can talk about it, yeah. If it's not a question dumped on me out of nowhere i don't have a problem with it" he said, giving a weak smile as he pulled his gaze towards Trixies slowly. "So what's actually bothering you?" he added, his tone neutral as he started up the car.

"I do, yes, if you can be convincing." Trixie quipped playfully, biting her lip at his expression. She nodded lightly, turning her gaze out the window as he spoke and blowing out a light breath. "Right. Well, It's kind of about what you said earlier. I know you said you don't date, but you also said... I don't know. I just want to know what you want us to be, whatever that is." She said lightly, keeping an even tone. She fiddled quietly with her fingers in the wake of her question.

Matt pulled out of the parking space and towards the road, listening to Trixie speak. He felt slightly tense as he caught onto what she was saying, but knew he wasn't able to just brush it off again as he had done before, he also wanted to talk about it and it seemed just plain cruel. "Right" he started, keeping his focus fully on the road. It seemed to Matt, that if Trixie didn't seem so scarily familiar it would be..so much easier figuring out what he wanted. But telling her 'i can't date you because i recognise you ' is plain stupid. "If you want full honesty, in time i'd be happy to settle down with someone, you or..whatever. It's just complicated that's all" he said, tapping the steering wheel nervously as he spoke. "I don't have any idea how to explain why, it just is" he added, taking a deep breath.

Trixie listened to him intently, her eyebrows furrowing when he finished speaking. "Matt, don't take this the wrong way, but that doesn't really answer my question. We can be friends with benefits, that's perfectly fine. But if you want to be more, and if you want to date now, then tell me. If you don't, just tell me." She shrugged, trying to make it easy. "You don't have to explain your reasoning, or what you want in the future, or anything like that. And if you're not sure, we can just be friends with benefits, and stick with that." She added quietly, her tone coming across gentle. She wanted an answer, but she was also nervous she was pushing him too far. "And if it means anything, I'd- I'd happily be in a relationship with you." She finished softly, staring at her hands.
