"Far from it. We think his dad might've tried to strangle him, since his entire neck is bruised in one continuing line. He'll be fine eventually his dad just.........his dad just messes him up, that's all." Roy, the one who had gotten crowdsurfed tried to explain, watching as Marco saw somebody come to talk to him and he immediatly put on a happy expression, flashing them a smile and keeping up the persona once they left. Everything looked like he was happy, everything besides his eyes. |

Liliana glanced at Marco with 'that' look. She knew what he went through, her gaze holding understanding and compassion. |

Marco caught her gaze and looked away, busying himself with brushing the dirt off his vest and fixing his spurs which in one the rowel had popped out. |

She walked over, standing beside him. "I meant what I put on the card yesterday, Marco. You need to get away, you can come to my place, or I can pick you up. I live by myself, so." She murmured. |

"Okay good, I was going to ask but then I started overthinking it and this and that-yeah, i'd appreciate it." Marco muttered, glancing up at her. His expression was hopeful, something it hadn't been in a while. The man's phone rang, him excusing himself before speaking in pure italian to his mother, hanging up and heading back to her. |

"That card has my phone number, but here's my address." She stated, handing him a different card. "I could always pick you up, though. It's private property, nobody is legally allowed on my land, unless I bring ya, or say so. You'll be safe, I promise." |

"I'll be there tonight if that's fine with you. And maybe for a few more days, I don't really know." Marco muttered, taking the card and putting it in his phone case where the card with her number was as well. "Eh, been told i'll be safe a matter of times and almost all the times it's just a person lying through their teeth." He murmered, standing to go to his truck. "Well, i'll see you later. Got things to do," The man explained, tagging along with his group of friends who were all talking about hitting up bars, handing out cigarettes or were already sharing cases of beer. Marco took one of both, finishing them both quickly before they all piled into three trucks and pealed out. |

That night, Liliana was walking one of her Thoroughbred mares, a deep, dark black one, when she saw someone coming. |

You could faintly hear the music thumping from the inside when the diesel pealed in, skidding at one point to which everybody stopped singing, going back to singing way off key to old country classics.The back door opened and Marco crawled out, a few beer cans falling out in the proccess. Marco tossed them back into the truck before waving goodbye and eyeing Liliana, starting to walk over, the only one in their group who hadn't drank besides one can. |
