Caleb didn't eat much. He finished quickly and took care of his dishes. Jaxon came running over, "Wanna come have a beer with us?" He asked, gesturing to the other guys. "No thanks." Caleb muttered, walking out to where he was staying

Cass perked up when Jaxon approached Caleb. She watched the commotion and saw him leave on his own. Cass jumped up and followed him out. She caught up with him in the dark. "Hey... I'm sorry about earlier" She said at his side.

"It doesn't matter. I understand. Besides, I stepped out of line and I need to keep my hands to myself." He said, still walking with her at his side. Admittedly, though, he still wanted her and he still loved her

"It's... ok" She stuttered, looking at him, guilt ridden in her eyes. "I fully appreciate you telling me your story but I never told you mine.." Her eyes twinkled. She paused before gasping for a little bit of air before she began. "My parents have always had the farm, I've grown up with this and its all I've known" She paused looking at him, her eyes rimmed with tears. "I was the first girl on the ranch, aside from my mother but the men always respected her..." She paused, the tears starting to blur her vision. "I know you mean well." "I try." He said, stopping. He wanted to reach out and wipe her tears. He wanted to hold her face. But he didn't. Instead, he just smiled at her and waited

"W-what happened?" He asked, continuing to walk and gesturing for her to follow. Once they reached his room, he sat on the bed and patted the spot next to him

Cass followed and sat down next to him. "I was nine at the time" She said looking at him, wiping her eyes, stuttering between breathes as if she was reliving the memory. "I was in the barn, alone..." She paused again, looking towards the barn. "One of my dad's employees took a liking to me and because there was no one around for hours, he.."She couldn't speak anymore, she used her sleeve to muffle her sobs.

"I'm sorry. You should've told me." He said, wrapping his arms around her. "I promise I would never hurt you. I'm just not that kinda guy. I truly care for you, but I never mean to make you feel unsafe." He admitted

Cass smiled weakly, feeling the strength and warmth in Caleb's arms. At that moment, Jaxon was calling Cass's name. Jaxon erupted into the room. "There you are... you know you're not allowed to be out here alone" Jaxon took Cass by the wrist. "Ow, you're hurting me" Jaxon had a wave of anger on his face as he dragged Cass out of the room, out of the barn and headed back towards the house. His arms wrapped around Cass escorting her.
