Ella frowned as Sage spoke to her, stopping in the doorway. She simply just stood and stared for a good minute, unsure of what to say. She knew he was correct, she would regret it quite some amount if she didnt bury anyone. But that wasnt happening. "I dont want to. Thanks." She said eventually, her tone flat. Ella hadnt meant to be rude by any means but was past caring abut how her tone camr across. She was already frutsrated about having to leave and be stuck with Sage as it was.

Once Sage was finally outside she felt a little more relieved getting increasingly restless at the fact he was taking so long. "Finally ready?" She snapped, crunching a piece of glass underfoot. She took a long sigh after speaking, rubbing her forehead in her hand briefly. Snapping obviousy wouldnt help the situation. "Where are we meant to go then? Because I dont have a clue." Ella asked, her tone a lot softer than her last sentence, mainly because she didnt want Sage arguing back again. Just an answer.

Sage frowned slightly when the girl said she didn't want to bury anyone, but didn't press the matter. He knew it wasn't exactly an easy conversation to have. He gave her a few minutes to herself though, as he nibbled at an apple he'd found and drank something, to get his energy up a little bit. He wasn't sure how far he could go, but they'd need to get as far as they could. He'd made sure his dagger was back where he kept it then, and moved to pick up the bags with a grunt. They were heavier than he'd expected....or maybe he was just weaker than he'd expected either way, he doubted he could go far.

By the time he'd made it back to the girl, she'd snapped at him, and he shot her a glare, though could tell she was trying to control her tongue, so he didn't snap back, as much as he wanted to. "No idea," he grunted. "I was just going to follow the other groups trail. Find where they're at, how to get my people back safely. How to destroy this group." He shrugged, stepping off the porch and wandering towards the woods, following the large path the group of men had made not an carefully. "Come with or go elsewhere. I don't care." He figured she'd want to come with, if she could stand to be near him. It was just smart to stick together. Plus ..they had her family too.

As Sage explained what his plan was, Ella listened carefully, though her head was swimming and she was struggling to catch thr words. She hadnt drank anything when she grabbed the supples, nor did she want too now. She felt insanely nauseous, having anything go down her would surely make her hurl. She started to follow absentmindedly as he walked, though stopped when Sage spoke. "What the fuck does it look like im doing?" She shot, her tone snappy. The nauseua, slight dehydration, frustration and tiredness was making being nice to her supposed hostage a lot more difficult. "I'm coming with you. For now anyway." She muttered, stepping forward and onto the path into the woods. It was rather dark, and half the lights that had been placed down by her group had been destroyed, causing Ella to walk rather slowly, having to pick her way through various broken branches and splayed brambles. After about five minutes she decided it was best to speak, catching up with Sage so she was sure he could hear her. "What if we find your family first? Would they then just end up taking me as a hostage instead?" She asked, attempting to come across snarky, though instead she came across..very scared. She was, really. Terrified of the idea in fact. She most defintiely woudlnt hold up under the conditions Sage had been forced to hold up under, it seemed like hell.

The rain had stopped after about ten minutes of the two walking, and though Ella was grateful for it, it left a heavy fog ahead, clouding the clearing that she usually used to direct herself. There was left and right. One could take them to the large field that the first fight between their families, and one could take them deeper into the forest, a lot deeper. She didnt say anythig thugh, figuring she would rather let Sage choose.

Sage wrinkled his nose slightly when the girl snapped at him, and he peered over his shoulder at her. "It looks like you could use a drink and snack," he snapped back, "and you're not listening to your body," he added, before stopping at her next comment and turned to face her. "My family, if they're alive, is captured, same as yours," he said shortly. "I'm not too worried about anyone capturing you. As far as I know, were the only ones out here besides that other group," he sighed, turning to start walking again.

He paused when he got to the crossroads, looking between the two paths before figuring out where he was at, and picking up the trail again, before starting to walk again after a moment. They walked in silence for maybe another half hour or so, until it started to get too hot and they came across a stream. "We can stop here," he noted, dropping his bags in a pile and moving to construct a sort of brush shelter a bit away from the river. He was wearing down by now, and honestly felt like he was about to pass out. So he made it quickly and just sat down against a tree, sipping at some water as he tried to catch his breath, closing his eyes and honestly just trying to stay awake by now.

"I dont want to." Ella mumbled, waving the suggestion off though Sage was absolutely right. Still, she felt way too nauseous for that. As he explained Ella listened carefully, cracking various branches underfoot anxiously. "Mm. Okay, if you say so." She said cautiously, deciding not to say anything after, and for quite a while at that. The next half an hour or so they spent walking in complete silence, relaxing Ella a little as she had time to think, and take in her surroundigs without having to listen to anyhitng else. She simoly nodded at his next words, and sat herself down, after helping Sage a little. Ella buried her head in her knees for a little bit, her vison going double every minute or so now. She put it down as being incredibly tired, though when she looked back up it was twice as worse. "Are we meant to just sleep here?" She asked, rubbing her eyes vigorously.

Sage had simply rolled his eyes at the girls stubbornness, shrugging and turning to continue walking. It wasn't his fault if she wanted to make his more difficult for herself. When she asked if they were supposed to just...sleep there, he opened his eyes to glance over at her tiredly. "Yes," he muttered shortly. Though, his face softened slightly when he noted how awful the girl looked. No doubt she was hurting almost as much as him, and she'd just seen her group dead. Probably someone she knew well, too. "I can take first watch," he mused, reaching to grab a bandage out of the bag and toss it to her. "and wrap your wound up. It'll open and get infected quickly out here," he noted. "And I don't have time to care for you out here," he added, not wanting to seem like he cared. Because for whatever reason, he didn't want the girl to get sick and die out here. Maybe it was simply because she was the only person he'd had a normal conversation with in....a while, even if it was just snapping at each other. He wasn't sure. But either way, of she did go downhill, he'd want to help her out. Which was absolutely stupid. But they were partners now, whether they wanted it or not.

Ella let the bandage roll out on the floor in front of her, only picking it up after Sage had finished speaking. She picked some leaves off of it mindlessley, though figured it was best to just cut that part off to avoid infection. After she had done so, she bandaged the wound best she could and only then decided to speak. "Thanks." She said softly, though his next sentence caused her to frown and drop the badnage back on the floor. "Right, well. Clearly." She mumbled, her usual clapback comments nowhere to be seen. As they rested there she stayed sat against the tree, fighting off the exhaustion best she could. There was no way Ella wanted to sleep, not yet at least. Sage had all the power to tie her up and leave her there. Granted, it would be an insanely stupid idea given they were forced to be partners until their families were found, but it could happen. She wouldnt put it past him. "Uhm, letme know if you need me." She said, attempting to get up and make her way over to the shelter that was built.

Sage had given the girl a nod in response to her thanks, face softening again. Besides, if she'd said thanks to him, she must be feeling bad. And it wasn't like he was in the position to do anything but help her. He wasn't stupid....if she got hurt again, or sick, he'd have to stop and help her, and that was wasting valuble time, on both their ends. He nodded in response to her comment as she crawled towards the shelter he'd made. It was a cruse looking thing, but it would at least keep them dry if it rained, and it would keep them out of the sun during the day. "We should camp at day and move at night. Sleep as long as you want," he noted. Once she was up, then he'd sleep until dusk. Then they could clean up their little camp, gather as much water as possible, and continue to follow the trail. It seemed like a good plan, at least as well as he could plan at this point in time.

Ella had taken a lot longer than she intended to relax at all let alone fall asleep. She hadnt replied to Sage's last comment, but taken it into mind at least. As she laid there her mind was swimming. Mostly because she was dizzy and dehydrated, but also because she just couldnt stop..thinking. Thinking about how she was stuck with Sage, the fact she had to keep watch when he slept, how she had stumbled across her best friends body. In her own room, too. Eventually though after quite some time, Ella fell asleep, pushing the physical pain and the destructing thoughts out her mind the best she could.

Though she had fallen asleep essentually exhausted, she woke up only about four hours later, which wasnt a lot of sleep at all for her. She sat up, taking a deep breath in and narrowing her eyes at the double vison that was stopping her from standing up. After it had eventually gone she stood, making her way out. She thought before speaking. "Hey." She said, making her way over to get a drink. She was still exhausted, though the thirst had taken over quite some bit.

Sage had stayed where he'd sat as the girl slept, just sort of mindlessly staring at the water as it rushed down the river. Well....maybe it wasn't so mindless, as his thoughts were moving as fast as the water by them. Except with whirlpools. And other various dangers. Of course, when he heard the girl stir he took it to note, and silently handed her a bottle of water as she emerged from the shelter. "Hey yourself," he noted in response to her comment, too tired to even think about being sarcastic in response to her. Plus, she was being at least somewhat friendly, so he didn't mind.

Once she was settled though, he sighed heavily and moved over to the shelter, stiffly and slowly, as his body was really starting to just...ache. A lot. "There's fruit and stuff in the brown bag," he mumbled. "You're gonna need something light at this point so try an apple," he'd added, before collapsing inside the little shelter and passing out pretty much right away.
