Saphire gave a small nod. She looked around. Because she was part demon, she didn't need sleep but she was capable of small cat naps. She knew some demons that weren't even capable of closing their eyes for more than five seconds. Saphire braided a lock of her long wavy red hair. she kept her eyes peeled in case anything happened

Cade yawned, despite himself he was getting tired. He didn't feel safe going to sleep, to many uncertain things could happen in the woods. He stretched his legs out a bit and rested his head on the tree's trunk.

(this is one of my accounts) Saphire sat up a little, her eyes focusing on something down below. She shifted so she could see it better then practically jumped down a branch when she spotted a little animal. Without a word she climbed down a few branches. "Hello little guy" she said quietly. She climbed down a little more then let her arm down as the animal sniffed around the tree trunk. It saw her and growled. "It's okay. I won't hurt you" after some gentle coaxing, she was able to scoop it up in her arms. She climbed back up the tree with the wolf pup in her arm then settled in a branch across from Cade, one down from her spot before. "Look at this wolf pup!" She said. She had made sure nothing was around. Momma was nowhere to be seen Edited at June 1, 2024 03:38 PM by Safe Haven Ranch

Cade woke up from his unplanned sleep. He looked across at Saphire holding a wolf pup. "Where did you find him?" He asked. Of course there was a wolf pup.

"Down on the ground. Momma isn't around and I haven't seen or heard any more pups" she said. She had a great sense of smell and hearing. Her sight wasn't that far off either. She stroked the pup as it curled in her arms. It nibbled on her shirt, its paws patting a feather on her wing. It's little tail wagged and Saphire smiled. "Now I have the urge to keep him" she complained, pulling him closer to her chest. "You need a name little rascal"

"We should! You should, I mean." Cade blushed and his voice trailed off. He quickly thought of a way to re-route the conversation. "He's really cute and I don't see the issue with you keeping him if his mom and siblings aren't around, maybe he got left behind."

Saphire gave a shy smile at his quick response. "He is. And I think Rascal is a pretty good fit for him" she said as he wiggled in her arms. He bit her hair and she squealed, tugging her hair out of his mouth. "Rascal!" She scolded quietly, careful not to scare him

Cade smiled at her, a genuine smile. "I think Rascal is a great name, it suits him." He looked at the small wolf pup as Saphire scolded him for bitting her hair. He knew that at some point his parents would get concerned about where he was but he didn't want to go back, he would be fine camping out with Saphire and Rascal.

Saphire leaned back against the tree trunk. "Can you take him for a second?" She asked, adjusting the sleeping wolf pup. Rascal shifted a little then rested his head on her arm again. "I'd like to be able to lay down" she said. "Once I get comfy I'll take him back"

Cade nodded, it can't be much different from holding a cat right? He took Rascal out of Saphire's arms, being careful that he didn't fall. Cade leaned against the tree trunk, getting a better look at the wolf pup. Rascal was asleep, snoring lighty. Cade took to gently petting him as he slept.
