Wesley looked right at home in the heat, since he'd been in it every day of his life. He had sleeves that cut off at the shoulder and a couple holes unbuttoned... perfect for sunny weather. He didn't care that he probably had more scars than any other cowboy on the ranch, and that a lot of them were on his arms from different accidents with bulls and falling off horses. A couple of those were gained during a rodeo that the guys put on, that they were doing again in about 2 weeks. Yay. "It's not like you could have known." Wesley mused, glancing up at the bright sun with a squint. |

"Mm. Maybe." Ella stood there, her eyes glazed over in thought. She had been thinking about the car show encounter that whole time, trying to rack her brain for what he had told Sawyer. Did she tell him the exact route she took on the horses? Did she tell him where she lived? Was she inviting to him in any way? She had no idea, but couldn't be any more grateful that Wesley had supposedly stopped his messages, or him coming here at all. She turned to him and smiled, looking at the time. Though the sun was blazing, it was getting a little later now, and she tucked her phone away. "Is there anything else i'm supposed to really..do?" She asked. |

Wesley gazed around for a moment. It was the afternoon now, but the sun was still blazing like if it didn't cook the earth God would get mad at it. "I think God is just cooking people in Texas. At this point, I can almost hear the sun." He mumbled with a slight grin, really just entertaining himself with jokes. "Maybe God's just like... *Oh it's smoking I love smoked meat* as the sun keeps on blazing and the people keep on melting." He snickered slightly, then focused on Ella as she spoke. "Well you could throw a flake of hay to Misty and refill her water, but other than that there is nothing her HAVE to do. Things you CAN do on the other hand, are literally countless. Believe me, a farm is the most entertaining place in the world if 1) you love nature and wildlife and 2) you are not afraid of getting a little dirty. Right now, if they didn't have work, i'm sure every cowboy from her to Mexico would be swimming." Wesley responded, cracking his wrost with a wince. |

Ella let out a small laugh at Wesley's joke, though she stopped herself quickly. She definitely couldn't let on to him she at least thought he was funny. One, that would boost his ego, and being rich, she wasnt used to doing that. And two, she hated her laugh. A lot She nodded in response to his last comments, letting his words spill around her brain so she could rack up a good enough answer to not let the conversation go dry. "I'll do what you said, then." Ella winced as she settled on that sentence, knowing it was no good. "As unbelievable as this sounds coming from a "rich girl", i'll be happy to help with whatever. Just as long as you dont keep leaving me on my own while I have no idea where to go." She smiled warmly, smoothing Misty's neck as the mare came to greet them. |

Wesley smiled slightly as Ella laughed, then focused on her next comment and tried to ignore the fact she stopped right away. -I wonder why that would be...- He thought, then shook it off and listened to what she said. He started to say something to her first sentence, but stopped as she continued, his brows drawing together slightly. "Ella, no one here looks at you as a rich girl. You are just a guest, and you can do what you want. If youd like to help, do so, if you want to take a nap, do so, if you want to rde, do so. You are just like everyone else here except you don't work 14 hours a day." Wesley commented, his voice quiet. "Plus I won't leave you on your own since my boss is already going to murder me for doing it twice." He answered the last one with a snort, walking over to West's stall and grabbing the stallion's bucket. HE went right outside the barn to a spigot, filling it up before placing the bucket back on the hook. Wesley then went onto the hay, going over to the place he had fed the calf at and cutting the haybale twine with a pocket knife. He then took a couple flakes and dropped it in the horse's stall, mumbling to himself for a moment about letting West in the pasture in the morning. |

Although Ella had relaxed since she first came, the mention of "rich girl" by someone else still felt like a stab to the stomach, even if they were just repeating what she said. She nodded, as usual, and gave a small shrug, smiling as Misty rested her head on her shoulder. "Well thank you. But still, i'd rather not lounge around all day, my dad influenced me to do that enough back home." she said. It was true, he did. To him, she never needed to do anything, never needed to work, nothing. For the most part, she enjoyed that. School had been enough. But, after leaving at 16 to get into modelling, something her mum influenced, she often had nothing to do. Being here seemed to make her want to..work. She took Wesley's earlier instructions and re filled Misty's hay and water, happy to do so. |

Wesley nodded at her words, disappearing for a second to grab a wheelburrow and pushing it over to the stall. He opened the stalldor, and of course West stayed in because he was sleeping. Wesley took a pitch fork and started mucking out the stall, which only took a minute or two. Practice makes perfect. He then took the wheelburrow and closed the stall door, patting West on the way out. Misty nuzzled Ella happily, standing still and content. She did not try to leave the stall when Ella came in to get water, or hay. When Ella brought the hay back, MIsty perked her ears and took a bite, chewing contentedly. |

It had taken Ella longer than she would have liked to do the said jobs she was offered, seemingly getting distracted every minute by one thing or another. She had a habit of that, constantly being distracted by anything else other than the task at hand. By the time she had actually finished, it seemed a lot dimmer then when she started, and she figured it was time to go inside. Ella gave Wesley a small smile as she passed him, and headed inside to her room, wondering about food. Whilst she was confident in talking to the ranch owners and their daughter, she didnt exactly want to ask about food. She felt too awkward for that. So instead, she sat and decided to wait. |

Wesley nodded to Ella as she left, finishing with his stuff before going to the mess hall where he got to eat. Lucky him... not. Wesley sat down as they started serving food, much quieter then he normally was, mostly because he felt quite sore and was too busy thinking about stuff. Then, one of the cowboys slapped him on the back. "Wake up, dreamer." The cowboy snickered. Wesley shot out of his chair with a yelp, pain flaring in his back. "Mitch, be careful!" He exclaimed, while everyone looked stunned. "What did you do this time." A man named Toby asked, one of Wesley's closest friends. "Nothing, I'm fine. It's just a bruise." He growled, sitting back down and eating the food that was given to him. Elizabeth (ranch owner's wife) walked to the bottom of the stairs. "Ella, the food is ready if you would like to come down." She called, walking back to the table. |

Ella jumped at the mention of her name from downstairs, and, after regaining her composure, she headed down to the others to sit down. She placed herself at the seat she had been at yesterday, ad began to eat, hardly saying a word. As dinner went on, waiting for them to speak to her was proving nerve wracking, and so she started up a conversation, asking various questions about the ranch. |
